The Organisation
EKLAKSHYA was formed on the birthday of Jay Prakash Narayan. It was formed in
the year 1998 by a group of social activists. The main objective for formation of
EKLAKSHYA was the highlight the vision of Gandhijee, Jai Prakash Narayan and Lohiaji.
The motto of the organisation was to build the capacities of the poorest of the poor
living in rural areas. Main focused groups are Women, Youth and Children living BPL,
the most backward community. In the year 2005 it was registered under the Trust Act
1882 and under Foreign Contribution Regulation Act 1976. The main interventions are
now focused on
- Health Related Issues
- NRHM Activities, Mobile Health Clinic, Family Planning
Leprosy, Vector Borne Diseases, AIDS, Tuberclosis,
Family Planning,Safe Drinking Water, Routine Immunisation.
- Education
- Primary Education to all
- Secondary Education and Skill Upgradation Trainings
- Consumer Rights
Special Focus on Consumer Protection Act.
- Women & Child Welfare
-Child Marriage, Dowry and abusing

OVERALL OBJECTIVE OF THE ORGANISATION
· To strengthen the existing govt. service delivery system to canalize then
resources at the community level with special focuses NRHM.
· To aware and motivate community people to utilize their existing knowledge
& skill to mobilize resource for their self development.
· To organize community people to develop resourceful pressure group for
desired community development action.
· To help in improving the health of the community people by providing required
knowledge & skill for practicing healthy habits.
· To work for providing knowledge & services for using safe drinking water,
personal hygiene and sanitation HEALTH awareness.
· To motivate people for literacy promotion.
· To aware & educate community people for stabilizing population.
· To work for empowering people to fight for them rights.
· To works for lessoning gender discrimination, child labour abolishment etc.
· To help the weaker section i.e. marginalized people of the society through
love, participation and action for their economical, social, spiritual and moral

Major Activities
1. Medical Camps - We organised health camps for the poorest of the poor
in the rural area of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. General Medical Health Check-
ups, Ante-Natal Care, Post Natal Care, Routine Immunisation, RTI/STDs,
Checkup for Tuberclosis, Diahorea and Gastroentits, Adolescent Education
were the major activities which were done in the camp.For awareness genera-
tion about the Ante Natal Care and Age at Marriage Nukkad Natak, Magic Shows
and Puppet shows were organised. For the children we organised Painting and
Essay competition.
2. Aids Awareness Campaign : Organisation organised Rally and Awareness
campaign for the youth of the BPL at Saharanpur with the collaboration of
Lions Club. More than 200 youths were counselled by the trained staff of the
organisation. Special program was organised for the girls studying in class X
to XII. Signs and symptoms of the AIDS and HIV were discussed with the par-
ticipants. Debate on HIV infected Patients - Rights of the Patient/Consumer”
were organised. This was highly appreciated by the local and religious leaders
whose were participated in the campaign.
3. Bihar - Flood Relief Camps
Yes............ We Eklakshya is there for the help of flood affected population in Bihar

A great achievement of the organisation during the year 2008. More than
300 volunteer were participated in this natural clamity. Eklakshya has setup
more than 100 collection centre for collection of Flood Relief Material from
the Community. 100 tons of relief material distributed among the beneficia-
ries. Through the motorboat and swimmers EKLakshya saved more than 80
people. For the period of 40-50 days many relief camps were organised by the
Eklakshya. The Chief Minister of Bihar, Mr. Nitish Kumar highly appreciated
EKlakshya.
4. Education Support Campaign - Eklakshya, as we have already exposed
that dedicated for the services of poorest of the poor, distributed School Uni-
forms, Books and School bags to the financial weak students in Shamli and
Kairana of Muzaffarnagar district. The education and skill upgradation pro-
grams for the women of rural areas organised in which cutting tailoring, bindi
making, toys making, primary education activities completed. About 50 women
benefitted.

5. Manav Hridya Parivartan Camps - Now a days the terrorism and naxalites
problem are the major headache of the government. Eklakshya organised medi-
tation camps in Jahanabad-Bihar most naxalite effected district. About 200
young people were counselled. This activity was firstly organised by any NGO
in the country and appreciated by the different sector of the Government.
6. Environment Protection Campaign - It was organised in Ajmer, Rajasthan
and Katihar district of Bihar. Organisation create awareness among the com-
munity by organsing cycle rally and plantation. In Ajmer this is ongoing project
for plantation of trees. Media very well aprreciated this activity.
