We will be demonstrating how to use
Microsoft Teams free version and all of it’s
features.

Part 1: Creating an Account

Step 1: Click on the image below
provided below to begin

Step 2: Select the box that says “ Sign Up For Free”

Step 3: Select the box that says “Enter your email address”

Step 4: Type in the email address you would like to use

Step 5: Select “Set up account”

Step 6: Select “Create account”

Step 7: Select the area that says “Create Password”

Step 8: Type in a strong password of your choosing

Step 9: Select the box that says “Next"

Step 10: Select the box that says “United States”

Step 11: Select the country in which you live from the list of options

Step 12: Select the box that says “Month”

Step 13: Pick your birth month out of the list of options provided

Step 14: Select the box that says “Day”

Step 15: Select your birth day based on the list of options provided

Step 16: Select the box that says “Year”

Step 17: Select your birth year based on the list of options provided

Step 18: Select the box that says “Next”

Step 19: Follow the directions as shown
sample.email@gmail.com.

Step 19: Select the box that says “Enter code”

Step 20: Once you have the code that was sent to
your email, type it into the box

Step 21: Select the box that says “Next”

Step 22: Follow the directions as shown

Step 23: Once you have typed in the characters,
select the box that says ”Next”

Step 24: Begin using your new Microsoft Teams account!

Part 2: All about “Activities” in Microsoft Teams
Step 1: To select activities go to
the left corner of your screen and
select the activities icon.

Step 2: If you want to see what conversations you have been involved in, select
“Conversations” and see what has been going on in your team.

Not only will you see your conversations but also what has
been happening with the people included in your team. This
is the “news-feed” of Microsoft Teams.

If you go to the bottom of your screen, there are multiple
things you can add under the ”Conversations” tab.

Step 3: Select the ’A’ tab to add to the conversation.

Step 4: There are many things you can add to the conversation.
Press the smiley-face icon and add cute emojis to put into the
conversation with your teammates!

Step 5: You can even add “GIF’S” and stickers and
memes into the conversations too!

Step 6: If you select the tiny video camera at the bottom of
conversations you can video chat with your team members or
even host a video-chat conference call!

Step 7: To see what files have been shared into your group, select the “files”
tab and you can upload a photo for your team to see, create a new file, and
upload a link to share with your team members.

Step 8: If you select “get link” this will make it possible to
share your teams page with someone else.

Step 9: If you select the “+” sign, you can add all new
applications to share with your team members.

Part 3: Getting to Know the “Chat” Tab

Step 1: Select the tab that says “Chat”

Step 2: Select the tab that says “Conversation”

Step 3: In this tab you can see all the conversations
you have with your teammates.

Step 4: You can even have multiple people in a chat at once.

Step 5: If you go over to files, this shows you where you can
upload files such as Microsoft forms, and files saved to your
computer to share with your teammates.

Step 6: If you scroll down and select “share” you will see two
options. You can either share by uploading from your one
drive or uploading a file on your computer.

Step 7: Next select “Activity”

Step 8: You will be able to see if any of your teammates have been
active your in chat’s and in your program

Step 9: If you select the “+” sign that is located next
to the “organization” tab then this is what will
appear. (The organization tab is not available in the
free version).

Step 10: Once the “+” is selected, this is how your screen will look. This tab
allows for you to add website links into your chat.

Step 11: If you go to the right side of your screen you will
see 3 tabs, if you select the first which is a video camera
you can video chat with your teammates.

Step 12: If you select the phone call icon, you can audio
call with your teammate/ teammates.

Step 13: If you select the multiple people icon, you can type in a
name of a person to add into your chat session.

Part 4: The “Teams” Tab
Step 1: To select “Teams”, go to the
left corner of your screen and select
the tab that says “Teams”.

Step 2: The teams you belong to will show up to the right of the
”Teams” tab, according to your favorites.

To create or join a team, click on “Join or create a team”
located at the bottom of the Favorites tab.

Step 3: Once you have selected a team, click on ”Conversations” to
bring up recent team activity in the chat.

Step 4: To start a conversation with the team, type
and send your message using the text box located
at the bottom of the screen.

Step 4: Click on the “Files” tab located directly next
to the “Conversations” tab.

Step 6: Under the files tab you can create or upload
files to share, and share a hyperlink with all the
members of your team.
Any file that the team shares will all appear in
the files tab.

Step 7: Click on the “Wiki” tab to edit documents, track
notes, and share specifics all while being able to edit in
real time along with your team members.

Wiki function continued: To share content, enter a
Title and a Subject and enter the information to be
shared. New sections can be added as well to keep
the information organized.

Step 8: Click on the”+” symbol directly
to the right of the “Wiki” tab

Step 9: To add any other
apps or files to the top
ribbon of the “Teams” tab,
the “+” symbol brings you
to the “Add a tab” page.

Part 5: Getting Familiar
with the File Tab

Step 1: Click “Files” in toolbar

file from your computer

after it is moved.

Step 12: Click on the team to where you moved the file
