As more and more people of diverse cultures are connecting and communicating around the world, can any organization afford a lack of cultural competence? Our leaders should be able to look at themselves - as if in a mirror - and ask: "what biases, prejudices and misconceptions do I hold of others?" And have the ability to look at others - as if through a lens - and ask: "what don't I know about you that can aid our collectively success?" And have the courage to ask their teams: "what about me prevents you from reaching your full potential in service to the organization?"
