4. Understanding the 10
• The Ten Commandments are broken into two sections. 4
and 6
• The first four commandments deal specifically with our
relationship with God.
• The last six commandments deal with our relationship with
other human beings. It is important to note that the
commandments that focus on God come first.
• If we keep the first four commandments, the next six will
be easier to keep as well.
5. Keep God First!
• Matthew 6:25-34…twmp…
• John 6:27 Labor not for the
meat which perisheth, but for
that meat which endures unto
everlasting life, which the Son
of man shall give unto you: for
him hat God the Father
sealed.
6. The rich man’s question
• What good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
• We should pray for a door of opportunity, for the Lord to
send us people who are seeking truth!
• Colossians 4:3—Withal praying also for us, that God
would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the
mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds:
• Jesus connected eternal life with keeping the
commandments.
7. Jesus is humble
• Why call me good? There is none good but One, that is
God.
• Philippians 2:4-11…turn with me please…
• John 6:38—For I have come down form heaven, not to do
my own will but the will of Him who sent me.
• John 4:34— Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will
of Him who sent me and to accomplish His work”.

Beside Me
• It seems as if his
possessions were his god.
• He calls Jesus “Good
Master” and ask what to
do for eternal life, but does
not truly want it!
