• Luke 1:30 And the angel said unto her,
Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found
favourfavour with God.
• Charis in Gk—Grace, the state of
kindness and favor toward someone, often
with a focus on a benefit given to the
object;
4. Submissive
• Luke 1:38 And Mary said, Behold the
handmaidhandmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according
to your word. And the angel departed from her.
• Handmaid, bond-slave, female slave
• This was an expression of acceptance to the
will of God! His divine will!
5. Submissive
• 1 Samuel 3:9 Therefore Eli said unto
Samuel, Go, lie down: and it shall be, if he
call thee, that thou shalt say, Speak,Speak,
LORD;LORD; for thy servant heareth. So Samuel
went and lay down in his place.
• I am ready to hear what you have to say,
and to do what you ask!
• Command and I will obey!
6. Submissive
• Isaiah 6:8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord,
saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for
us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.
• When the Lord speaks we need to be zealous
to do his will! (Col. 2:23)
• Jonah 3:2 Arise, go unto Nineveh, that great
city, and preach unto it the preaching that I bid
thee.
7. Summary 1
• There must be a willing mind to do the will of
God regardless of what it is! (2 Cor. 6:7)
• When God speaks we must be zealous to do
His will!
• We need to make sure we are following His
will and not man’s will!

9. Maternal love
• Matthew 23:37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem,
thou that killest the prophets, and stonest
them which are sent unto thee, how often
would I have gathered thy children
together, even as a hen gathereth her
chickens under her wings, and ye would
not!
10. Maternal Love care and love
• 2 Samuel 18:33 And the king was much
moved, and went up to the chamber over
the gate, and wept: and as he went, thus
he said, O my son Absalom, my son, my
son Absalom! would God I had died for
thee, O Absalom, my son, my son!

my kinsmen according to the flesh:

FearFear the LORD!the LORD!

me great things; and holy is His name.
• Luke 1:50 And his mercy is on them that
fearfear him from generation to generation.
14. How is fear defined here?
This is not the fear which we ought to have
toward God. It is the fear which a dutiful
(SUBMISSIVE) child has of a kind and
virtuous father
-- a fear of injuring his feelings; of
dishonouring him by our life; of doing
anything which He would disapprove.
15. Fear of the Lord
• Psalms 111:10 The fear of the LORD is
the beginning of wisdom: a good
understanding have all they that dodo his
commandments: his praise endureth for
ever.
• Job 28:28 And unto man he said, Behold,
the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and
to depart from evil is understanding.
16. Fear of the Lord
John 2:5 His mother saith unto the servants,
Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.
Deuteronomy 10:12 And now, Israel, what doth
the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear
the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and
to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with
all thy heart and with all thy soul,
17. How to access His Grace?
• Titus 2:11 For the grace of God that bringeth
salvation hath appeared to all men,
• Titus 2:12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness
and worldly lusts, we should live soberly,
righteously, and godly, in this present world;
• Titus 2:13-14 Looking for that blessed hope, and
the glorious appearing of the great God and our
Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that
he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto
himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
