Judgment of Nineveh

2. GOD IS JEALOUS
• 1:1-2
• God is Jealous, and the LORD avenges
• Romans 2:12-16
• This is the judgement for Nineveh
• God has tried to get Nineveh to stay with Him (Jonah)
• V3 The Lord is slow to anger
• Jonah’s generation could not save Nahum’s
generation

3. GOD IS POWERFUL
•1:3-6
• Who can stand before His
indignation?
• Who can endure the fierceness of
His anger?

4. THE LORD IS GOOD
• 1:7
• He is a stronghold in the day of trouble
• He know those who trust in Him
• But, 1:8
• With an overflowing flood He will make an utter
end of its place,
• And darkness will pursue His enemies
• Romans 11:12, 3:5-6, Nahum 3:19

5. DO YOU CONSPIRE AGAINST
THE LORD?
• 1:9-11
• Do you think you can get away with how you are
living? (2:6,8) (2:11-13) (3:3) (3:8,10)
• 1:12-13
• A message to Judah
• 1:14, 3:18-19
• Nineveh - I will dig your grave, for you are vile
• 1:15
• Judah will be delivered from the wicked
