Joseph Nagy is a systematic and tenacious advocate for sustainability that is a direct reflection of client
values, aspirations and goals. He has more than thirty five years of collaborative design and construction
project experience. For over ten years his work has focused on sustainable and LEED certified projects
including strategic sustainability consulting for institutional, commercial and nonprofit clients. He has worked
with a range of local, national and international architectural firms. His project experience includes the first
LEED Gold Student Center for the University of Vermont, a LEED Gold Architecture and Landscape Architecture
School for the Pennsylvania State University, LEED Platinum Roshek Building historic office building core &
shell restoration, LEED Gold and Silver university housing projects for Allen & O’Harra Developer, and a LEED
Gold convent and high school renovation for the Felician Sisters. He is currently providing sustainability
consulting on two projects attempting LEED NC Platinum certification: the Phipps Center for Sustainable
Landscape and the Sota Construction Offices.
Joseph is experienced with integrated design and is a skilled project facilitator. He encourages active
dialogue among project team members to clarify client values, identify sustainability goals, recognize project
opportunities and evaluate design options. His creative approach to optimizing sustainability within a projects
design, budget and schedule goals enables project teams to effectively make sustainable decisions throughout
the project lifecycle. His projects have been recognized nationally and locally for sustainable design
innovation and design excellence. He received a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Carnegie Mellon
