Production roles
Creative producer - Commercials Producers create radio advertising in response to client briefs and
station promotions for radio stations. Radio Commercials Producers may manage client briefings,
generate and offer ideas as to what kind of content will be in the advert, and write scripts or work
with writers. They will cast voiceover artists and also session vocalists. They may also edit and
produce finished commercials and other advertising material.
Although there is no commercial advertising on BBC Radio, local stations or national networks
employ Radio Producers or Broadcast Journalists who are responsible for each station's programme
adverts and promotions.
Voiceover artists
A voiceover artist is someone or a group of artists who will read the script written by the copy writer
they producer will tell them how they want the artist to sound, nowadays a lot of voiceover artists
can work from home with basic sound equipment and then just send it to the producer for example
the voice gallery in Manchester has over 10,000 artists on their book, voice artists can earn as little
as £450 per hour

Recording engineer
Recording engineers are the ones who control all the sounds and also edit the sound to minimalize
things such as breathing and other movements, they also make sure that the voice artist or music in
the background is all in key and also to ensure it’s not rushed they also take control of editing all of
the sound its together they can use programme’s such as audacity and adobe audition and reaper
they will usually have an editing computer which is solely for editing and bringing it all together they
usually work off two monitors.
Copywriter
A copy writer is the person that writes he script they will work in connection with creative producer
and the company who ae paying for the advert so they can find out what kinds of things they want
promoting and then they write a script to match they may choose for something serious or
something more friendly and chatty this whole process is done though interviewing the company
directors and their marketing department
Example the, we buy any car advert would have been brought together with ideas over a series over
interviews between he copywriter, director and the company.

Celebrities
Celebrities bring something different to an advert their voice is probably well recognized and will
add extra selling incentive and power to the product example if your selling aftershave the voice of a
well-known celeb like Bradley cooper who can use a strong commanding voice to assure the listener
that is a product that the “stars” do use and therefore other people should buy it.
