Rain that has been ACIDIFIED.
It destroys stained glass
 windows, corrodes metal and also
 ruins the paint color.
Acids also have effects on limestone
 or marble building or sculptures.
 Taj Mahal’s walls have
  cracked and its
  marble has lost the
  brightness.
 Statue of Liberty is
  also affected by acid
  rain.
 The main components are sulfur
  oxides(SOx) and nitrogen oxides(NOx).
 These are usually emitted by power
  plants, factories and cars.
 When SOx and NOx are released into the
atmosphere, they react with water to form
  sulfuric and nitric acid(H2SO4, NHO3).
SOx H2SO4

               H2O
  NOx NHO3

    the
atmosphere
 Ifit’s possible to move sculptures, we can
  bring them inside.
 However, if they are huge sculptures or
buildings like Taj Mahal , we can’t move
  them.
 So we must stop acid rain.
 The most easy way for us is turning off
lights and electrical devices when we’re
  not using them.
 Avoid using cars and vehicles.
 One of the most fundamental solutions is
using fuels burning more clearly, or burning
  coal more efficiently.
