WHY GATE SAFETY WEEK? • To create awareness around the installation and maintenance of powered gates drawing attention to specific issues such as poor installation and maintenance • To encourage building owners and users to check the operation and condition of their powered gates – and to report those that aren’t satisfactory • To provide a neutral platform for organisations with common interests in the powered gate industry • To engage and educate specifiers, merchants, installers, inspectors, surveyors and users in the correct specification, supply, installation and operation of powered gates
- 3. • If you or your company wish to support Gate Safety Week then you can download the logo elements and web banners from the Gate Safety Week website and use them in promotional communications leading up to Gate Safety Week • We also hope that you will display the Safety Assured logo to indicate to customers that you are trained and qualified to fit and maintain powered gates USE OF THE LOGOS

BENEFITS OF JOINING GATE SAFETY WEEK • Use of the Gate Safety Week logo shows your customers you are serious about safety and have their best interests at heart • You are helping to raise awareness of the serious issues around gate safety and educate those who are not aware of their responsibilities and the legal requirements • Being a Safety Assured member and Gate Safety Week supporter allows us to promote YOU through our PR and social media marketing channels and give you a distinct edge over your competitors – using these logos gives your business credibility in the market place

FACTS YOU CAN USE ABOUT GATE SAFETY • In the last 10 years, 3 children and 3 adults have been killed by dangerous gates • There have been many serious injuries and near misses • There continues to be a lack of awareness and knowledge of safety in the industry • There are countless dangerous gates still in service today • If you have a powered gate and someone gets injured by it you could be liable • Properly installed and maintained powered gates are perfectly safe to use
