IDEAL INTERMEDIA is a development company for a types of transmedia products that lie between the worlds of entertainment and education that are created for use by a member of any generation that can be considered a digital native.
-In 2006 - A Year on Earth-tasked 3 teenagers to take the pulse of the planet and report back to their generation. -filmed at and between scientific expeditions in 12 countries. -the film was a coproduction with Discovery Networks and aired across 5 of their channels including Discovery Kids. -primarily kept to the life-journey unfolding throughout. -Also produced a set of “field reports”. At about 12 mins each, focused on knowledge and science of each expedition.-Part of Discovery Education curriculum sold to schools-well produced, graphically intensive, played off movie narrative – but educationally intensive.
