2. The product
The product we have been assigned to make is a clothing brand. I decided to relate my
product to music. To help broaden my audience, its mainly about the late 1980s band the
Stone Roses. My label will be offering t shirts, hats, jumpers and accessories such as
sunglasses and belts. In order to establish an audience I created multiple media platforms,
such as social media to help establish a younger audience since the age range for my
product is 16 – 40. ‘Adored’, which is taken from the Stone Roses song ’I wanna be Adored’
is a British clothing label. The label itself would appeal to fans of the band as well as fans of
other British brands such as Pretty Green, Stone Island and music lovers would be
interested in this product.
3. Platforms
The first priority for my company was to create aTwitter page, because of the world we
live in created a social media presence was imperative, as well as this it allowed us to
create a survey. Making it far easier to find out what my audience wanted from my
product. The second media platform chosen was a poster, this is due to the simplicity of it,
a poster can be put any where such as in a bus stop or the underground, further helping to
grow my products popularity and gaining it an audience that it other wise may not have,
such as people outside of the myTA age bracket. My final platform was too actually create
a prototype of a product from my clothing label, in this case a t shirt. The process of
making this was quite simple, I bought a plain white t shirt and placed it in front of a white
background photographed it and removed the background on Photoshop with the magic
wand tool. I then designed a bucket hat which will also be sold at and company and placed
it onto the t-shirt completing the process.
4. How my products link together
across three platforms
All products have the
same logo, a lemon
My poster displays the
company's Twitter pages
handle
One of our products, a bucket hat is
visible on both the poster and Twitter
page
The company name
‘Adored’ is visible on all
platforms
5. Images
Images used such as the bucket hat featured on the t shirt made was not a secondary
source. It was taken in front of a white background(to make editing easier). The
background was then removed with the magic wand tool as well as the eraser tool. It was
then resized and placed on a a plain white t shirt which was also taken against the white
background along with the bucket hat.The colour of the t shirt was also changed to show
up better on camera.
6. Secondary Sources
Some of the secondary sources used, such as the company'sTwitter profile picture were
not created on Photoshop. It was only edited and resized. It was taken from
https://www.terraceoriginals.com, this is also a clothing brand. It was then resized, the
background was removed and paisley was then added as a background.
7. Survey Results
A survey was carried out to discover exactly what my audience wanted for my brand. The
questions and results are as follows.
8. Feedback on Product and Ideas
I showed a series of people my media platforms and asked them what they thought, these
were the results. The survey also served as a way of gaining public feedback, the survey
results can be seen on slide seven.
I think the poster could use some more work, it has key information but is a bit bland, how
ever it is eye catching and leaves a makes the observer remember your product.Your
twitter page is very interactive and holds lots of information about your company and its
products.
I think that the poster is informative and too the point, eye catching and packed with
information. As well as it being within the exam boarders.
The own product is great used own image which is great made the product your own.
Twitter page looks very informative.
9. Prototype
The prototype created, in this case a t shirt was created and imprinted with a separate
product acting as the logo, a bucket hat also made by the company. It was all taken in
front of a white background separately and edited together in Photoshop. Such as
removing the background with the magic wand tool and eraser. The colour of the t shirt
was also changed in Photoshop to help show up on camera.
10. Poster
The poster, which was created on Photoshop serves as another of my three media
platforms. Some of the tools I used to create the poster are the shapes tool, the eraser tool
and the text tool. I began by using a secondary source image of lemons(which is the
company logo for all of our products) which was taken from google images. It show cases
one of our products in this case, a bucket hat. It shows the company'sTwitter pages link
showing more of our products. As well as this it shows the name of the company which was
also designed in Photoshop.
11. Releace date of the products
The products themselves, which will be released to announced to the public mounts
before the release will be mainly summer dress items. Such as hats and t shirts, therefor
the release date of the project will be in the middle of summer. The announcement date
and the release date bare so far apparat so it has the affect of building hype and
excitement for the products about to be released to the public and local fans. Each
product will be released on the same day during summer.
