Market research in the form of an online survey was conducted to learn that the target audience is most active on Twitter, willing to pay higher prices, and familiar with The Stone Roses' music
2. Adored
‘Adored’, which is taken from
the Stone Roses song ’I
wanna be Adored’ is a British
clothing label
For promotion social
media would be
used, as well as
posters and
prototypes being
created
The label itself would
appeal to fans of the band
as well as fans of other
British brands such as
Pretty Green, Stone Island
and music lovers would be
interested in this product,
the age of my TA would
be roughly 18 - 40
3. MY PLATFORMS
The social platforms I have selected are a poster, which is centered around the logo of
my product. I have also designed a product in the form of a t shirt which features a
bucket hat, and Adored has its own Twitter page as well as a survey which is available to
the public.
4. MY TARGET AUDIENCE
The audience demographic I have chosen are aged from 16 – 40, this is
due to the age of the band my product is based on. The Stone Roses are a
Manchester band which were formed in the late 80s. Due to this my target
demographic would be any younger than 16. As well as this most of my
campaign is social media based, excluding an older audience. I asked my
TA’s opinion on the subject of my product via an online survey, the results
were very positive. However some of the participants didn't like the idea
of having a clothing brand based solely on the Stone Roses, to combat
this and for fill the needs of all of my target audience I only hinted at the
Stone roses being involved in the product. This being the tell tale lemon
used on their daybew album.
5. SURVEY RESULTS
I created a survey asking customers what they wanted from our brand. The questions are as follows:
How much money are you willing to spend of an items of clothing, How many of the following
brands have you heard of, would you be interested in branded items of clothing related to music,
how regularly do you buy branded items of clothing, do you regularly listen to the Stone Roses,
would you be interested in branded items of clothing related to the Stone roses, what forms of
social media do you use, are you male or female. The results are as follows:
6. SECONDARY SOURCES
Some of the secondary sources used through out the project. Secondary sources, such as
the image used as the profile picture on the company's twitter page. Which was taken
from https://www.terraceoriginals.com. The image had to be scaled, the background had
to be removed with the magic wand tool and a background had to be added. Here are
the two images side by side. Another secondary source used was an image from
www.freshcalenders.com.
7. POSTER
• The poster, which was created on Photoshop serves as another of my three media
platforms. Some of the tools I used to create the poster are the shapes tool, the eraser
tool and the text tool. I began by using a secondary source image of lemons(which is
the company logo for all of our products) which was taken from google images. It
show cases one of our products in this case, a bucket hat. It shows the company's
Twitter pages link showing more of our products. As well as this it shows the name of
the company which was also designed in Photoshop.
8. IMAGES
Images used such as the bucket hat featured on the t shirt made was not a secondary
source. It was taken in front of a white background(to make editing easier). The
background was then removed with the magic wand tool as well as the eraser tool on
Photoshop. It was then resized (using the transform tool in the edit tab) and placed on a
a plain white t shirt which was also taken against the white background along with the
bucket hat.
9. PROTOTYPE
The prototype created, in this case a t shirt was created and imprinted with a separate
product acting as the logo, a bucket hat also made by the company. It was all taken in
front of a white background separately and edited together in Photoshop. Such as
removing the background with the magic wand tool and eraser. The colour of the t shirt
was also changed in Photoshop to help show up on camera.
10. THE PRODUCT
The product we have been assigned to make is a clothing brand. I decided to relate my
product to music. To help broaden my audience, its mainly about the late 1980s band
the Stone Roses. My label will be offering t shirts, hats, jumpers and accessories such as
sunglasses and belts. In order to establish an audience I created multiple media
platforms, such as social media to help establish a younger audience since the age range
for my product is 16 – 40. ‘Adored’, which is taken from the Stone Roses song ’I wanna
be Adored’ is a British clothing label. The label itself would appeal to fans of the band as
well as fans of other British brands such as Pretty Green, Stone Island and music lovers
would be interested in this product.
11. PRODUCT RELEASE DATE
The release date of my brand will be shorty after it is announced, early in spring. It will be
announced before. This is to build suspense for my audience as well as give my work
force time to prepare. We have chosen to release our products at this given time due to
the type of products we make, they would be worn in hot climates.
12. HOW MY PRODUCTS LINK TOGETHER
The products themselves
sport the same logo, the
lemon
As well as this, the same bucket
hay is used on the poster as
seen on the t shirt
Finally the word ‘Adored’ is featured on every product
because it is the company name
13. ACTIONS TAKEN UPON FEEDBACK GIVEN
Some of the feedback given by my online survey was acted upon in many ways. Such as:
most of my online marketing campaign was originally going to take place on Facebook,
however upon reading the survey results I decided using Twitter would be more suited
to my already built audience. As well as this learned that a majority of my audience
would pay higher prices for my products, over 50% to be exact. And finally, I learned that
a great majority of the survey takers have heard of The Stone Roses, meaning that they
will understand the references made by my company and products. You can see the
evidence of these results on the slides above.
