Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol (SIOP) and Advancement Via Individual
Determination (AVID) to meet our student’s needs
• Participated as a part of a professional learning community (PLC) where our team shared
and built on our most effective practices under the guidance of the campus content
specialist

commitment to the school by stepping in to the Pre-Calculus and Advanced Quantitative
Reasoning teaching position in the middle of the school year when called upon by our
campus

and create curricular resources as needed for the program
• Identified potential vendors, secured funding through a grant from the Pasadena ISD
Education Foundation, and negotiated the purchase of necessary resources for our
program

research career options, research college options, research scholarship opportunities,
and stay current with classroom activities
2. Curriculum Writing
• Developed College Transitions Course curriculum by effectively utilizing the many
resources available through the district which minimized costs and improved
student SAT performance.
• Collaborated with teachers across PISD under the leadership of the district content
specialist in the writing of curriculum for the newly developed Algebra 2 College
Readiness course to improve our student’s transitions into community college
• Participated in the refinement of the Standard Clarification Forms used by the district’s
Algebra 2 teams during summer staff development under the supervision of the district
and campus content specialists
Regional Committees
• Actively involved in bridging the curriculum gap between high school exit-level
mathematics and college entrance-level mathematics by serving as the High School
Chairperson on the Houston Pathways Initiative (HPI)
• Played an integral role in a three year long project by serving as the Pasadena ISD
Mathematics Representative as a part of the Gulf Coast Partners Achieving Student
Success (GCPASS) Committee
