The Alliance of Portland Neighborhood Business Associations (APNBA) was founded in 1986 and is funded at $50,000 per year to support business district associations (BDAs) in Portland. It received additional funding in 2007 to open an office and hire full-time staff. The APNBA aims to stimulate economic development by promoting neighborhood businesses and assisting small businesses and BDAs. It provides grants, education, advocacy, and other resources to its 35 member BDAs and others. Going forward, the APNBA plans to continue assisting BDAs through organizational support, marketing assistance, expanded conferences and partnerships, and new funding sources.
