When someone is blonde or has ‘light’ hair we sometimes say they have fair hair.
When we use dye in our hair, with some parts lighter, other parts natural we call them
‘highlights’. ‘My girlfriend has brown hair with blond highlights.’
HAIR LENGTH
We use ‘short’ and ‘long’ when talking about length of hair. Although it is relative and we can
use words like ‘quite’ and ‘very’ to add to the description. We can also talk about how far down
the hair goes: ‘shoulder-length hair.’ ‘it goes down to the middle of her back.’ If someone has
no hair they are ‘bald.’
