GRAPHIC DESIGN PORTFOLIO
2 ABOUT ME
I got into graphic design because of my love for theater. In 2006, while
working as a studio manager for Pro Sho Productions on Staten Island,
I started using Adobe Photoshop CS2 to format photos for video
montages. I continued using Photoshop in conjunction with DVD Studio
Pro to author DVDs thus enhancing the company’s product. In my sixth
year of managing a team of technicians and designers, I decided
to pursue theater full time. I was offered a permanent position as a
general manager with Snug Harbor’s theater company where I frequently
worked. We desperately needed to enhance maketing to boost ticket sales.
With no funds to hire a graphic or web designer, I started honing my
skills in Photoshop and Dreamweaver. As the ideas came, so did the
knowledge, but the most exciting part was watching the results. Our
audiences increased and I found a new career path in graphic design. Soon
I was promoted to art director and communications coordinator, which
means I now handle marketing and graphic design for the entire organiz-
ation. My department currently has only one person in it: me. I would like
to obtain a position where I can work with a marketing team. I am currently
concentrating my efforts to improve my workflow model for each individual
design project, as well as experimenting with different planning strategies.
Any feedback on my portfolio, positive or negative, is greatly appreciated.
