We are Team 5773 Ink and Metal, a First Tech Challenge team
created in 2011 by a group of high schoolers who had a passion for
robotics. We are part of the Engineering and Technology club in
American High School, located in Fremont, CA.
New members are brought in through a rigorous process, and each
division of the team facilitates their own process independently of
the other branches. During this process, students from different
grades at our school come together on a specific day and try out
for the team based on their abilities and knowledge with
mechanical, engineering, programming, documenting, and
leadership skills.
Our team routinely advances to FTC States and Worlds, and the
2020-2021 season has been a turning point for the vision and goals
of the team

The objective of the coding track is to
allow participants to create a web
application solving an environmental
problem that is to be revealed as the
competition nears.
The objective of the 3D-modeling track
is to allow them to create a product,
essentially through a 2D-sketching
model phase and its 3D creation solving
the same real-world problem.
The objective of the Artificial Intelligence
sector is to utilize machine learning to
fulfill the given task.

orientation to provide guidelines
and instruction. After the exposure, a
focused workshop will educate the
participants on their respective
