7. Experiment Time
Research:
Find out about Surface Tension.
Write out about or draw pictures that show
SURFACE TENSION.
8. Hypothesis
What we guess might be the answer….
-could be based on past experiences
It does not matter if it is right or wrong...it is a
starting place.
We can then find out by experimenting!
12. What were some of our numbers?
Trial # Number of Drops
1
2
3
13. Why do we have such different
numbers?
1. Errors will always happen.
2. Even if we try to repeat the exact same
experiment under the exact same conditions.
What do Errors come from?
1. Errors will come from your technique in doing
the experiment, so we must try to make these
errors as small as possible
14. What do We Do?
Take an AVERAGE.
What is an average?
Add up your numbers and divide by how many
numbers you added together.
Example: 4 + 3 + 5 + 4 = 16
16 divided by 4 = 4
17. Describe
Scientist ALWAYS describe what they found
out from this experiment.
Use your word bank to describe
1) What you did
2) What you saw
3) What was your average number of drops
4) Was your HYPOTHESIS close or not...How much?
18. If you could redo?
What questions would you be CURIOUS to try
and figure out next time?
1)
2)
