Problem: Damage to glass at beginning and end of grind cycle caused by
inadequate force control of the air cylinder driving the grind wheel.
Force Required 2-4 Newtons
Stroke: 5 mm.
Solution: Customer was able to soft land on glass and provide a constant
force through the force mode of the LAL-55 at both the beginning and end
of stroke as noted in the diagram below:

Solution: Customer used the soft land feature of the of the SMAC LAL-
20, in conjunction with a load cell mounted on the rod of the LAL-20. The
LAL-20 is controlled by a Dual Axis LAC-25 as noted in the below sketch.
