4. UNDER THE HOOD
• 1. Remote jump start positive terminal

5. EXTERIOR FEATURES
• Tires - 265/60 R18 (36 PSI)
• Kussmaul Auto Eject – located on the driver side rear quarter panel. Ensure that the
apparatus is always plugged in and charging. Don’t pull the cord out, allow the system to
auto eject the cord.
6. EXTERIOR FEATURES CONT.
End lights on light bar will shut off when the door is open.
When the door is closed they will operate normally.
7. GETTING INSIDE THE VEHICLE
• Key Fob must be within 5 feet of vehicle to operate door locks
With the fob within 5ft simply
grab the door handle to unlock
To lock the vehicle press the button
on the handle
Key fobs will be in the vehicles
secured. Normal unlock and lock
operation can be conducted with
the remote. In the event key fob is
removed for use unlocking and
locking can be done as shown in
pictures.
8. STARTING THE VEHICLE
• Transmission must be in park
• Press/hold brake pedal
• Push engine start/stop button once
9. STARTING THE VEHICLE CONT.
In case the ignition state does not change with the push of a button, the
key fob may have low or dead battery. In this situation, a backup method
can be used to activate the ignition. Put the nose side of the key fob
against the ignition START/STOP button and push to operate ignition.
10. ENGINE STOP/START SYSTEM ESS
• The STOP/START system was developed to reduce emissions and will stop the
engine automatically during a vehicle stop if the required conditions are met
• Releasing the brake pedal or pressing the accelerator pedal will re-start the engine
• To turn the feature on or off press the STOP/START switch. The light on the switch
will illuminate when the system is off. The light on the switch will turn off when the
system is on.

accessory components.
All MR’s are equipped with the Opticom system

14. INTERIOR SET UP CONT.
Vehicle battery is located under the front passenger
seat. There is an access panel that covers the
battery. In the event access is needed:
1. Move the seat all the way forward
2. Fold the seat forward
3. Remove battery box cover
15. DEAD BATTERY/JUMP STARTING
In the event that the vehicle battery is dead and the vehicle will not start follow
these procedures.
1. Ensure the vehicle is in park
2. Ensure the vehicle is plugged in and charging
3. Locate the remote pendant in the rear cargo window area drivers side
4. Press and hold the button until the LED light remains illuminated
You are now in the boost mode – allow a few minutes then attempt to start the
vehicle, if this does not work then move to next slide
16. DEAD BATTERY/JUMP STARTING
CONT.
To jump start the vehicle with another vehicle follow the directions below
1. Move the passenger seat forward to expose battery box
2. Remove cover from battery box and find the circuit breaker
3. Press the red button to disconnect the accessory power
4. Attach the jumper cables
5. Negative (#10 in photo)

17. FUEL & FLUIDS
• To access the fuel fill you must press button below steering wheel on the left side
Fuel – Regular unleaded (24.6 gallons)
Oil – SAE 0W-20 (6 quarts)
Coolant – Mopar Antifreeze/Coolant (10.4 quarts)
Transmission – Mopar ZF 8&9 Speed ATF
Brake Master Cylinder – DOT 3, SAE J1703
18. MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS
• New MR’s only have 1 mobile radio. Ensure that you are maintaining situational
awareness of other calls that may be dispatched after you have been assigned to an
incident, especially when staging on a medical call.
• Ensure that MR’s remain plugged in and charging while parked
• Vehicles are equipped auto park. If you attempt to move vehicle with the door open
or open door while moving the vehicle may shift into park on its own. You have to
be below 1.2 MPH for this to engage.
• Equipment carried on the MR’s will not change and be the same as the old ones.
• There is no master battery switch for the vehicle like what is found on the engines,
tankers, and boosters.
19. MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS CONT.
• The radio traffic can be broadcast through the siren horn by selecting the radio
button on the siren/light control box
• There is a locking compartment on the console that can be used to lock up personal
belongings such as a wallet or phone
20. CONCLUSION
• Ensure that you are making yourself and your crew familiar with the new apparatus
• All vehicles operate and handle differently, drive the new apparatus and train on
them prior to making emergency responses
