Market Research Project
1. Executive summary The purpose of this research report is to find out whether customers are interested in an online hypermarket. To analyze this, the
research is divided in three topics. The first one discusses the interest from customers to buy online. The second looks at drivers and barriers for people
to buy online. Finally, the third topic investigates the different product categories that Caddyhome should include in their assortment. To analyze these
topics, a market research was conducted through a face to face questionnaire and the results analyzed through a statistical program called SPSS. These
results can be found in Appendix A. On the basis of these results, recommendations are given to Caddyhome regarding these topics.... Show more

Sample design For the purpose of our market research, we used a nonprobability sampling. We focused on people who, at least, sometimes buy online.
We used a convenience sample, which means that we asked people who were available when and where we collected our data. Our sample was
conducted among 100–150 respondents with Dutch, Belgian, French and Spanish nationalities. This should be enough in order to get some insight of
the interest of the customers for the project and derive some relevant results from it. 5. Research questions, hypothesis and data analysis I. The interest
to buy in an online hypermarket To analyze this topic we have six research questions. After we have tested the corresponding hypotheses, we give a
short recommendation to Caddyhome regarding this topic. Research question 1 Are customers interested in purchasing in an online hypermarket? H0:
Customers are indifferent to buy in an online hypermarket. (Вµ=3) Ha: Customers are not indifferent to buy in an online hypermarket. (Вµ is not
equal to 3) The questionnaire question we addressed for this research question is question 4. To test this research question we decided to use a one
sample t–test (two tailed) with a test value of 3. We decided to use a one sample t–test because we only have 1 sample (all the respondents) and our
dependent variable has interval data. The test is two–sided because the

Exploratory Research Report
Executive Summary
This report investigates the fashion clothing purchase behavior by examines the drivers such as perception and motivation. Four adults have
participated in this research, in order to complete an interview which conducted under QUT guidelines, and transcripts collected have been used as
thematic analysis for further process. Some major findings and recommendations generate after data analysis of interview transcript. Notwithstanding
that fashion is subjective, Researcher discovered commonality that consumers tend to perceive a brand value with its price, and higher price implicates
better quality and value. However most of the consumers reveal the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
2.2 Sample considerations
The target audience for this project is English speaking adults in Australia. Respondents of chosen samples are about 18–26 years old male and female.
However, incomprehensive coverage of different age group of respondent may lead to a bias in this research.
2.3 Data collection and framework, and analytical considerations
The data was collected with certain procedures. Initially, comprehend the research topic and objective, secondly, sketch the interview question by
following the guidelines provided on QUT Blackboard as framework of the research. Subsequently, record and conduct the interview with qualified
respondent. Then transcribed the interview conservation and uploaded to the online survey system. Lastly, download three other transcripts from class
database of interview transcript.
Interview as a method of data collection, encourages the interviewees to speak freely about given topic with a minimum of prompting or guidance
(Krishnaswami & Satyaprasad, 2010). Moreover, interview transcripts have been analyzing and coding with thematic analysis, which is an
identification and interpretation of aspects of the phenomenon. (Boyatzis, 1998). Dataset applied with thematic analysis – a conventional practice in
qualitative research which involves searching through

Food is an important component that a human being consume every day. Different cultures have their own influences with their food. Some people
may have a different tradition on how they view types of foods. I want to examine further whether if television has an impact on food decisions. I want
to know "How does television content influence the dietary quality choices of children?" For this research, I will be conducting an exploratory research
because I want to gain more information on what kind of channels kids watch these days and how that alters their decision on making their dietary
choices throughout the day. I think that this research is important because kids today tend to just eat what they view as good food without knowing

I think by now all of us are witnesses of seeing at least one food advertisement that we come across whenever we watch TV. Most of the time these
advertisements tend to be for fast food chains like McDonalds or Wendy's. Goris et al. (2010) looked at the television food advertising exposure to
children in six different countries: United States, Australia, Great Britain, Italy, Sweden and the Netherlands. They have gathered the data for six
countries through PubMed database between January 2000 and March 2008. The results that they've got were interesting. They stated that "TV food
advertising exposure was found to be highest in the United States and lowest in The Netherlands, Sweden and Great Britain, while Italy and Australia
took intermediate positions. TV viewing and food advertising exposure data used in this study were from before the introduction of advertising
restrictions to children in most countries. The average daily TV viewing time in 6–11–year–old children was found to be 90 min/day in Sweden, 116
min in Australia, 120 min in The Netherlands, 140 min in Italy, 144 min in Great Britain and 199 min/day in the United States" (Goris et al. 2010). The
results between 6 different countries showed that United States spent most time watching the television and exposure of food advertising were also

Grounded Theory Of The Theory
grounded theory of 1967 and this development and testing of theory involved in grounded theory will make it difficult to be classified as ordinary
inductive based on the fact that theory not necessarily meant to be tested in purely inductive research. Another point is the fact that classic grounded
theory originally is expected to commence without theory make it fundamentally different from case study strategy. This is a point of argument
between the two originators of the theory Glaser and Strauss after they split on the opinion on whether it is possible to commence grounded theory
with conceptual framework. Strauss and his new partner Corbin in Corbin and Strauss (1990) agued to support opportunity for conceptual framework
at the start of a research study while Glaser in Glaser (1992) countered the position of Strauss and Corbin by affirming that the essence of grounded
theory is to developed theory from empirical data and that issue of testing or verification is not part of grounded theory. Today, theorists are
fundamentally split along these two directions. This research study is aligned with Strauss and Corbin direction but will not use classic grounded
theory to avoid confusion but the basic principle of Strauss and Corbin in the use of both inductive and deductive approaches will be employed.

Qualitative Research: Exploratory Method
Qualitative research is a broad term for exploratory methodologies described as ethnographic, anthropological, naturalistic, field or participant
observation research. It addresses the significance of looking at variables in the natural setting in which they are found in research. Relations between
variables are essential parts of the research. Detailed data is collected through open ended questions from the respondents. The interviewer is a
fundamental part of the research (Jacob, 1988).
Creswell (1998), defines qualitative research as the process of understanding a social or human phenomenon, based on methodological research
background. Researchers aim at generating a complex, holistic view, at analysing and describing the angle of the subjects within a natural context.
Several lines of research can be seen as the roots of qualitative methods. Leedy & Ormrod (2001) classified the qualitative research into descriptive,
experimental and causal comparative research. Moreover, there are five areas of qualitative methods: case study, ethnography study, phenomenological
study, grounded theory study, and content analysis. These five areas are representative of research that is built upon inductive reasoning and... Show

The basic strength of the qualitative approach to cultural assessment is the ability to explore for underlying values, beliefs, and assumptions. To gain a
full admiration of an organization, it is necessary to understand what is driving their behavior (Yauch & Steudel, 2003, p. 472). The other great benefit
with a qualitative approach is that the inquiry is broad and open–ended, allowing the participants to raise issues that matter most to them. The
qualitative researcher typically does not have a preconceived, finite set of issues to examine (Yauch & Steudel, 2003, p.

Methodology And Format Of Any Scientific Work Essay
Research design
This refers to the plan, structure and format of any scientific or statistical work. It serves the purpose of guiding the researcher in his study and will
set out the framework to be used. Research design will basically cover the data collection process, tools of collecting such data, how the tools will
be used to collect data and how to analyze the collected data into a useful form (Gosling, 2014). A problem will be raised by researcher in which he
will carry out his course study to draw an answer throughcollecting data (Meyer, et al, 2012).
The research process is as follows: Statement of problem is identified( Research problem); Making a plan how to start the actual research is
determined; Determining research type to use and Stating methods to use. The research problem will be identified as follows:
1.Obtaining a problem you are already aware of. You may choose from social environment and any other facts that researcher knows.
2.Asking from experts and teachers. This is also another avenue of obtaining a research problem. Practitioners can be interviewed who will provide a
much deeper insight to a problem. This is one of the best methods since practitioners have myriad of experience in research field and

3.1 Data Collection
Primary and secondary are the two major forms of any particular study. Primary has unprocessed and information which is not manipulated and it is
gathered directly from the source whereas secondary means a reliance on the already researched work which is available and has been researched by
numerous scholars and researchers. Both methods are used to gather the important info for the use of exploratory study as in this case.
3.2 Primary data collection
Bryman and Bell (2007) said that to carry out a qualitative data then there are two methods used: direct observation and conduction an interview.
This approach always provides an analysis in detail and elaborates the research. Creswell (2009) had this view that primary data is important and has
a great significance because it is always in a raw form and it is more authentic because it has been collected directly from the source. So, for this study
it was suggested to conduct primary data from the students who are studying in UK and the method used for semi–structured interview.
The reason for using semi structured interview is that; researcher can easily edit the questions asked in a semi–structured interview session before they
are answered and the questions can be manipulated which makes it more valuable and important for any research. To conduct an interview, the
queries are based on the idea to rely on the basic aim and objective of the field of the study and also highly

Describe one or two events that occurred or observations you made during the week. Next, describe what you thought and/or felt about those events or
observations. Use an extra sheet of paper if necessary.
In this week, it was challenging too. I was very stressed because I was waiting for Mr. Alex to give me a new assignment to do since in most times I do
the assignment outside the office. The reason is that the office is so small and there is no place for me to work in the office. However, I meet with
Mr. Alex or Rosa hisresearch assistant every week to make sure that I understand the task that I have to perform. In this week Ms. Alex was outside
the office and Rosa took his place to explain to me the assignments and help me understand. I was very stressed and worried about the assignment
and the time that I will take to complete since it was a very busy week. It was the week after the final exams and I had to write ten pages for
Organizational behavior's class and another research paper for English class. It was very hard and challenging because it was my first time doing a
research paper and writing ten pages essay. I was very worried to the point that I was crying. It always took me a long time and so much energy just to
get ready and build my confidence to do it. My word that I always say is "I can do it, I can do it." I also talk to my parents and my counselor in the

Retail industry in India is at the crossroads. It has emerged as one of the most dynamic and fast paced industries with several players entering the
market. But because of the heavy initial investments required, break even is difficult to achieve and many of these players have not tasted success so far.
However, the future is promising; the market is growing, government policies are becoming more favorable and emerging technologies are facilitating
operations. Retailing in India is gradually inching its way towards becoming the next boom industry.
The whole concept of shopping has altered in terms of format and consumer buying behavior, ushering in a revolution in shopping in India. Modern
retail has entered India as seen in sprawling shopping centers, multi–storied malls and huge complexes offer shopping, entertainment and food all under
one roof. The Indian retailing sector is at an inflexion point where the growth of organized retailing and growth in the consumption by the Indian
population is going to take a higher growth trajectory. The Indian population is witnessing a significant change in its demographics.
A large young working population with median age of 24 years, nuclear families in urban areas, along with increasing workingwomen population and
emerging opportunities in the services sector are going to be the key growth drivers of the organized

Effective Computational Tool for the Segmentation of...
3.1 PROBLEM FORMULATION In order to get the digital copies of printed pictures, segmentation is needed. The main purpose of this work is to
analyze how a better and the efficient system can be designed to segments two or more pictures from the same printed document page at the same
time. Most of the previous methods for achieving this particular problem is useful only when single image has to segment from the printed
document. This particular system will also help us to extract title images and the images in between two pages. For this either digital cameras or
flatbed scanners can be used but there is various advantages of digital camera over flatbed scanners such as portability, acquisition without contacting
and fast response, whereas the flat scanners requires high computing power. So clearly there is need to develop such effective computational tool for
the segmentation of the images from the printed document. 3.2 OBJECTIVES By keeping following objectives in mind we are developing such a
computational tool: I.To extract more than 1 Image from a Single Document Page so that the limitation of single image extraction can be removed.
II.To extract the small and large images by using the method of detecting edges of some predefined range of orientation in order to remove the
problem related to detecting such boundaries. III.To extract Segmented Images which are lie between 2 pages which can be possible only using digital
camera because flatbed scanners can never meet

Growth Of Numeric Sku Availability Of Coca Cola Products...
INTRODUCTION
The topic entitled "GROWTH OF NUMERIC SKU AVAILABILITY OF COCA
–COLA PRODUCTS IN THE OUTLETS" explains us about the
methods and strategies adopted by the company for increasing the SKU availability in the outlets.
The company manufactures more products so as to increase the sales of the company and thus maximize profit. More availability of products helps to
increase the scores of SOVI. It is very much necessary to have a good relationship between the retailers and the M.D's.
It is very much necessary to prepare an efficient permanent journey plan (PJP) so that M.D's are able to cover all the outlets in a month.
The inefficient M.D's should be trained effectively regarding the sales process of the company and see that the M.D's are able to increase the SKU
availability in the existing outlets and also be capable to supply products to the new potential outlets.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
OBJECTIVES OF THE RESEARCH –
To understand about the sales process by the marketing developer (M.D)
To understand the process of outlet activation.
To study about the problems faced by the marketing developers (M.D's) in billing of the stock keeping units (SKU's) and supplying of the products.
To study about the strategies to increase stock keeping units (SKU's) of the outlets.

Marketing Research Methods: The Basics You Have To Know About Are you considering starting a business or improving the performance of the
current one? Market research will help you find unsatisfied needs in the market, give information about your customers or find out what your customers
thing about your business and many more. The process includes the creation of an exploratory research to get to know your target audience first, using
secondary research or qualitative research, consultation with experts or observation, and then verify the results with a quantitative research. The final
and most important step is to analyze and interpret data collected.
Market research is the process of collecting and analyzing information from target markets in order to solve a variety of marketing problems. Market
research will allow increased sales on a current product or testing the feasibility of a new product in a potential market. Thus, a market research will
be conducted to find different needs targeted consumers have, so that a product or service can be created or improved to satisfy consumers ' needs.
Exploratory research: Get to know your audience first!

The Ego And The Integration Of Violence In Homicidal You...
"The Ego and the Integration of Violence in Homicidal You"
The New York State Division of Youth Deputy Director, Charles H. King, researches the potential causes of homicidal tendencies youth, hoping to find
a more reliable method of rehabilitation treatment, in his essay, "The Ego and the Integration of Violence in Homicidal You," published in 1975.
During the early 1970s, America was seeing a rapid increase of youth that were displaying intense acts of violence, and even homicide. In an attempt to
understand the potential causal factors that lead to violence in youths, and intern develop a treatment method for the afflicted children, The New
York State Department of Youth was tasked in preforming a study to define these two parameters. For the study nine random children who had
displayed extreme acts of homicidal violence were selected to represent the dependent variables. The average age of the group was about fourteen,
with three of the children being African American, two of the children being Puerto Rican, and the final four children being Caucasian. Each child
had bean randomly assigned to the research study purely on the bases that they had committed acts of homicide at a young age. The first stages of the
study were based around an exploratory design, as the researchers that that point only intended to discover the potential causes for the violent
behavior, with the hypotheses being that the act of homicide serving the same psychological purpose for all the children, regardless of age, gender, or
ethnicity. To begin the study each of the nine children received a background check, psychiatric evaluation, and subsequently an IQ test. Expectedly
each of the children had come from home that displayed a heavy drinking atmosphere, an abusive relationship with one or both of the parents, and
parents guilty of neglect. But the results of to the psychiatric evaluation were not what the researchers had expected. During the evaluation portion of
the study each of the children were test for psychosis. Only one of the nine children however, met the criteria required to be diagnosed as psychotic.
But each child did show a belief that their parents, and others around them were afraid of them, and were out to get

However, the current study is a secondary exploratory analysis data of the past investigation and does not participate in the dangerous procedure of
the past research. Secondary data analysis could be defined as the use of prior research data in order to answer questions that differ from the original

–invested into the the centre. TennisMAD was first
established in 1985 by Paul Butcher, he started the company in South Devon and named it South Devon Tennis Centre, which was and still is located
in Ivybridge. Since then TennisMAD has expanded covering a wide range of locations in the local area. The South Devon Tennis Centre is now the
head quarters of the company. TennisMAD provide different programmes for adults, juniors, pre–school as well as development coaching and
performance coaching. They currently have two distinct demographics which are 5–18 and 50+. Over the past 10 years there has been significant
changes in the amount of Tennis participation across the UK, fluctuating year to year. In 2013 the amount of people participating in Tennis was
694,100, comparing with today which has risen by 7% theres now 746,900 (Senior Vice) people participating within Tennis. The increase of tennis
participation links in with the purchase of tennis balls and and tennis racquets, within the last 12 months 67% of tennis players have purchased tennis
balls and 54% have purchased racquets. Similar to this Statistics show that more than 2 million people participate in Tennis within the UK. These
figures indicate that there is a clear interest for Tennis

Exploratory Qualitative Research Paper
ASSIGNMENT #2 Through exploratory qualitative research and measurable quantitative research, I will be discussing a final research document
which will consider implications of how thought processes work as well as progression groups, and unique techniques through counseling will be
applied to substance abuse, as well as addressing how the thought process works and how emotions play a large impact on personal recovery. In the
Qualitative research article titled A Cognitive Behavioral Approach to Client Anxiety, Anger, Depression, and Guilt Kevin C. Murphy (1980) discusses
how counselors are often trying to find ways to address ways to reach a client to help them through the thought process, through using different
therapeutic techniques ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another strategy goes into helping the client create a mental shield around them that can't be broken down (Schimmel & Jacobs, 2011). Other concepts
that a counselor may address is cultural aspects. (Jacobs, 2011) In a Qualitative article titled Managing racial anger: A Critical Skill in Cultural
Competence Alexis D. Abernethy (1995) addresses how some ethnic populations may come to a therapy session having anger as being the main
complication. The issue might revolve around job discrimination, job dissatisfaction etc. However, the counselor may show empathy before
understanding the client's situation or perspective, which may create a dilemma (Abernethy, 1995, p. 97). Cultural aspects are not the only concept for
those who struggle with anger, Gender experience may also play a role. In a quantitative article titled Sex Difference in the Relationship of Anger and
Depression: an Empirical Study Jody L. Newman, Elizabeth A. Gray, and Dale R. Fuqua (1999) go into detail about a study that had been conducted
on two different inventories. The two inventories calculated the mean score between sexes and found that women scored much higher on depression,
however there was no difference between the six anger scales that were considered between the sexes (Newman, Gray, Fuqua, 1999). Also in
consideration between the sexes a quantitative article titled Issues of anger in the workplace; do gender and gender role matter? By Irene Gianakos

Research Design/Approach/Method The research design was clearly identified as "a cross–sectional descriptive exploratory" study (Chernomas &
Shapiro, 2016). The design chosen for this study was appropriate but did employ the limitation that the results between each year of students could not
be compared within the program. The independent variables were identified as the following: "demographic data (age, relationship status, year in
program) [and] quality of life indicators (satisfaction with sleep and leisure activities)" (Chernomas & Shapiro, 2016). The dependent variables for the
study were the depression, stress, and anxiety levels experienced by the students (Chernomas & Shapiro, 2016). Chernomas & Shapiro (2016)

Chernomas & Shapiro (2016) state that the Cronbach's alphas for this study were 0.97 for depression and on non–clinical studies the alphas are 0.91.
The sample size for this study was on the larger size; "437 useable surveys" were collected (Chernomas & Shapiro, 2016) which provides a more
clarity on how depression affects nursing students rather than if the sample size was smaller. Research assistants were hired to interpret the levels of
depression the nursing students were experiencing by entering the data into the "SPSS version 18 software program" (Chernomas & Shapiro, 2016).
By using the software program, the sample mean from this study was compared with "means in a normative sample" (Chernomas & Shapiro, 2016). As
stated earlier, researchers were not a part of the recruitment, data collection, or distribution of incentives to allow for "anonymous data aggregation"

The chief of police in my precinct has given me a very important task. He wants to start a task force in the Los Angeles Area to determine the

the citizens or situation being studied? Although this research is highly accurate, it does not gather the causes behind a situation. So if we did a study

A Review of Reseach in “What Predicts Human Trafficking”...
Article Review
"What Predicts Human Trafficking"
The article that is under review is titled "What Predicts Human Trafficking" by Kevin Bales. Aims of this article seek to highlight the most important
predictor of human trafficking on a global scale. According to Bales, multiple indicators that identify human trafficking have previously been
acknowledged by earlier investigations. These indicators derive from social, political, cultural and economic difficulties that affect the livelihoods of
an individual with respect to global location. The assessment of variables during the scope of research distinguishes prospects, destitution, and
controversy as the critical factors in determining the incidence of human trafficking. Additionally,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To satisfy the concerns of the posed questions, the author examines country data and potential indicators that contribute to the prevalence of human
trafficking.
To assist in the understanding of data in terms of numerical values, as such data fails to exist according to Bales, the utilization of two approaches
assisted in guided research. The first approach that Bales refers to in the article was the use of a five point scale to provide a representation of quantity
for international trafficking. The five point scale categorized countries by compartmentalizing and observing each independent country in relation to
the incidence of trafficking in that region. In addition to the five point scale, Bales incorporated the use of multiple regressions in unearthing the
answers to the previously stated questions. As regression seeks to pinpoint a change in dependent variables in relation to change in multiple
independent variables, this method of conducting research is ideal for this area of discussion as little to no research currently exists to base claims.
According to findings in research, prospects, destitution, political duplicity, and controversy are the major underlying predictors of trafficking. The use
of multiple regressions operations as a means to highlight the strongest predictors of human trafficking reveal political duplicity as the prevailing
indicator in trafficking from a country on a global scale; while the percentage of

According to Teacher–research as continuing professional development a project with Chilean secondary school teachers there is a major benefit to

Marketing Case Study a New Joe on the Block Essay
Written Assignment 1: A New "Joe" on the Block
November 4, 2011
[Question 1]
In my opinion, there are two top key decisions that Joe faces in regards to his situation. The first key decision is determining the basis for which Joe
will model his coffee shop after. With supporting evidence fromresearch, he must determine which indicators on taste/experience/price/etc. will
ultimately establish his positioning in the competitive market. This is an important decision because it narrows the scope of his coffee shop's situation
and will aid him in taking the necessary steps towards determining key factors for success.

consumer preferences.
The second major flaw in the coffee taste studies is the existence of external variables. It is evident that the first and third studies had underlying
variables that may have significantly affected their outcomes. The first study notes that "the author of this study personally purchased coffee to go at
four places, took them to his office, tasted them, made notes and drew conclusions" (pg. 63). This indicates a major flaw of this particular study
because the time frames for which each cup of coffee was obtained and then consumed are inconsistent.
The third study also indicates the existence of possible external variables given the location in which it was conducted. According to the text, "the
researchers stood outside a small organic specialty shop and interviewed 100 customers as they exited the shop" (pg. 63). Based on the choice of
location, it can be argued that the results of this study mainly coincide with the preferences of consumers with a high interest in organic products.
[Question 4]
Given the situation, a determination can be made about its relation to each of the first three steps in the marketing research process. At this point, Joe
has already undertaken some actions that are consistent with the defining research objectives step. The first thing that Joe has done is define his
situational problem. Although it appears to be lacking in content and clarity, he recognizes "that a great deal of research in

The Importance Of The Researching Process And The...
Answers
Importance of the researching process is to achieve a good business by researching anything related to the marketing plan such as; purchasing habits,
choosing suitable slogans, advertising recall, and product packaging designs, which are the most important attractive factor for the consumers. But
researching everything, particularly with a small business budget is too hard in achieving goals, so what is known as a research brief don't satisfy all
researcher approximate needs. This helps researchers focus their attention on a specific research purpose and understand objectives. For example, if you
want to know why people are not buying your product, the researchers know to target consumers who buy competitive products and ask whether they
considered your products. (shukla, 2006)
There are 3 types of marketing research problem, first one is the exploratory research it is used in cases where the marketer has no idea about the
research problem due to lack of proper information. For example, a marketer has heard about social media marketing techniques which are employed
by their competitors with great success but he is not familiar with using these for his products/services. Second descriptive research is used to explain,
monitor and test hypotheses created by marketers in order to help them find accurate answers. Third Causal research, the marketer tries to understand
the effects of manipulating independent variable on other dependent variable and also to find cause

All of the research we reviewed used primary data and chose not to utilize secondary data to conduct their experiments, however, several of the

chosen to pay particular interest to are those that were used to gather data from participants at college campuses, as this is the population we wish to

population as well. A study conducted at James Madison University gathered their findings from a participant pool at their university using the Illinois

With the understanding of the research philosophy and the selection of the appropriate approach made above, now it is much easier to strategize the
type of research to solve the research problem and its sub–problems. There are many strategies in research. The most common ones are experimenting,
survey, case study, actionresearch, grounded theory, ethnography and archival research.
Before deciding the strategy for the research, it is important to understand the purpose of this research. Is it intended to explore or describe or explain
the phenomena? The exploratory research is intended to gain the base information about the problem by defining the terms, explore the root of the
problem, testing hypothesis and provide a solution to the problem.

Critical Appraisal Byrne , C., (2012), Jeesis is alive! He is the King of Australia: segregated religious instruction, child identity and exclusion. British
Journal of Religious Education. 34 (3) pp. 317–331.
This paper outlines a critical appraisal for a research paper conducted by Cathy Byrne (2012). Byrnes' paper is an exploratory case study into the impact
of segregated religious instruction in public schools. She argues that segregated religious instruction influences identity development and may lead to
exclusionary behaviours in students. This essay argues that Byrnes' use of an exploratory research design is an appropriate and useful approach as this
method provides the researcher with a greater understanding of the topic and allows the researcher to gain clarity in defining the nature of the research
problem (Manerika & Manerika , 2014, p.95). It also helps Byrne define a problem statement for her future research. However, the nature of this
approach is associated with significant limitations, which in Byrnes paper, were coupled with problems in the research title and method that affected
the believability and validity of the study. There are also issues with the overall argument of the paper which is based on the assumption that Special
Religious Education in Australian schools are segregated without defining segregation or adequately proving that grouping students by religious

Research Design
Describe some of the important research designs used in experimental hypothesis testing research study.
Research design is needed because it facilitates the smooth sailing of the various research operations, thereby making research as efficient as possible
yielding maximal information with minimal expenditure of effort, time and money. Differentresearch designs can be conveniently described if we
categorize them as:(1) Research design in case of exploratory research studies;(2) Research design in case of descriptive and diagnostic research
studies, and(3) Research design in case of hypothesis–testing research studies.
1. Research design in case of exploratory research studies
Exploratory research studies are also termed as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this way the researcher should review and build upon the work already done by others, but in cases where hypotheses have not yet been
formulated, his task is to review the available material for deriving the relevant hypotheses from it. Besides, the bibliographical survey of studies,
already made in one's area of interest may as well as made by the researcher for precisely formulating the problem. He should also make an attempt to
apply concepts and theories developed in different research contexts to the area in which he is himself working. Sometimes the works of creative
writers also provide a fertile ground for hypothesis formulation and as such may be looked into by the researcher.
(b) Experience survey
This means the survey of people who have had practical experience with the problem to be studied. The object of such a survey is to obtain insight
into the relationships between variables and new ideas relating to the research problem. For such a survey people who are competent and can contribute
new ideas may be carefully selected as respondents to ensure a representation of different types of experience. The respondents so selected may then be
interviewed by the investigator. The researcher must prepare an interview schedule for the systematic questioning of informants. But the interview must
ensure flexibility in the sense that the respondents should be allowed to raise issues and questions

Given that the research problem in this report is ambiguous, the basic research method adopted is exploratory research. The role of exploratory research
is to clarify and define a problem at the initial stage of the research. Zikmund, Ward, Lowe, Winzar and Babin (2011), suggest that exploratory research
is not intended to provide conclusive evidence and is conducted with the expectation that subsequent research will be required to provide such
conclusive evidence. Thus, exploratory research is the foundation of the research process which will lead to descriptive research, and maybe causal
research.
There are many exploratory methods that can be used to conduct research. These include field studies, action research, depth interviews, focus groups
and desk research. This exploratory research utilised one qualitative method to collect data, which will help gain an insight of the research problem
before further research is performed. The method chosen was 'in–depth interviews' which are relatively unstructured and extensive interviews in which
the interviewer asks many questions and probes for in–depth answers (Zikmund, Ward, Lowe, Winzar, & Babin; 2011). Zikmund, Ward, Lowe,
Winzar, and Babin, (2011) also suggest that there is no one perfect method which can meet all research objectives.
In–depth interviews have been conducted with four members of the public who currently live in Australia and

Comparing Study Designs for Citation Bias
In an explanatory research design, the most likely kind of bias is the citation type. In citation bias, researchers may be reluctant to publish some
discouraging findings, especially if they believe that they may tarnish their reputations or personal abilities and affect the effectiveness of their
products. For that reason, citation bias makes researchers submit positive results only for publication, while suppressing negative findings. In most
cases, the motive of citation bias is to gain popularity or self–appraisal (Riegelman, 2005). Positive results, also known as statistically significant
findings, may include results that show that a certain intervention is functioning well.
Citation bias is likely to be encountered in explanatory research designs because through them, causal hypotheses can be investigated, analyzed, tested,
and published. Explanatory research investigates why certain variables are related and it tries to look into the causes of certain phenomena. However,
in the process of publication of the findings, some researchers are likely to concentrate on positive results alone and ignore the negative ones
(Riegelman, 2005).
Citation bias may be common in medical research studies, especially in those that try to find the cure for a significantly important or mysterious
pathogen. In this case, only the positive sides of the results are likely to be published. For example, a potential drug against a certain intractable virus,
which has been researched on, is

Attitude measurement is when a research is studying the reaction of participants to a certain phenomena; while when studying a phenomena you are

When thinking about Criminal Justice it's obvious that research is involved in solving crime. But it goes much further than that. Research is actually
conducted in Criminal Justice itself. Research is done in Criminal Justice for a number of reasons. Research can be conducted in Criminal Justice for
three main reasons; social problems, policy and academics. Then a number of other additional reasons are exploration, description, explanation,

Market Research Project

 • 1. Market Research Project 1. Executive summary The purpose of this research report is to find out whether customers are interested in an online hypermarket. To analyze this, the research is divided in three topics. The first one discusses the interest from customers to buy online. The second looks at drivers and barriers for people to buy online. Finally, the third topic investigates the different product categories that Caddyhome should include in their assortment. To analyze these topics, a market research was conducted through a face to face questionnaire and the results analyzed through a statistical program called SPSS. These results can be found in Appendix A. On the basis of these results, recommendations are given to Caddyhome regarding these topics.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Sample design For the purpose of our market research, we used a nonprobability sampling. We focused on people who, at least, sometimes buy online. We used a convenience sample, which means that we asked people who were available when and where we collected our data. Our sample was conducted among 100–150 respondents with Dutch, Belgian, French and Spanish nationalities. This should be enough in order to get some insight of the interest of the customers for the project and derive some relevant results from it. 5. Research questions, hypothesis and data analysis I. The interest to buy in an online hypermarket To analyze this topic we have six research questions. After we have tested the corresponding hypotheses, we give a short recommendation to Caddyhome regarding this topic. Research question 1 Are customers interested in purchasing in an online hypermarket? H0: Customers are indifferent to buy in an online hypermarket. (Вµ=3) Ha: Customers are not indifferent to buy in an online hypermarket. (Вµ is not equal to 3) The questionnaire question we addressed for this research question is question 4. To test this research question we decided to use a one sample t–test (two tailed) with a test value of 3. We decided to use a one sample t–test because we only have 1 sample (all the respondents) and our dependent variable has interval data. The test is two–sided because the ... Respondents of chosen samples are about 18–26 years old male and female. However, incomprehensive coverage of different age group of respondent may lead to a bias in this research. 2.3 Data collection and framework, and analytical considerations The data was collected with certain procedures. Initially, comprehend the research topic and objective, secondly, sketch the interview question by following the guidelines provided on QUT Blackboard as framework of the research. Subsequently, record and conduct the interview with qualified respondent. Then transcribed the interview conservation and uploaded to the online survey system. Lastly, download three other transcripts from class database of interview transcript. Interview as a method of data collection, encourages the interviewees to speak freely about given topic with a minimum of prompting or guidance (Krishnaswami & Satyaprasad, 2010). • 4. Exploratory Research Food is an important component that a human being consume every day. Different cultures have their own influences with their food. Some people may have a different tradition on how they view types of foods. I want to examine further whether if television has an impact on food decisions. I want to know "How does television content influence the dietary quality choices of children?" For this research, I will be conducting an exploratory research because I want to gain more information on what kind of channels kids watch these days and how that alters their decision on making their dietary choices throughout the day. I think that this research is important because kids today tend to just eat what they view as good food without knowing whether ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I think by now all of us are witnesses of seeing at least one food advertisement that we come across whenever we watch TV. Most of the time these advertisements tend to be for fast food chains like McDonalds or Wendy's. Goris et al. (2010) looked at the television food advertising exposure to children in six different countries: United States, Australia, Great Britain, Italy, Sweden and the Netherlands. They have gathered the data for six countries through PubMed database between January 2000 and March 2008. The results that they've got were interesting. They stated that "TV food advertising exposure was found to be highest in the United States and lowest in The Netherlands, Sweden and Great Britain, while Italy and Australia took intermediate positions. TV viewing and food advertising exposure data used in this study were from before the introduction of advertising restrictions to children in most countries. The average daily TV viewing time in 6–11–year–old children was found to be 90 min/day in Sweden, 116 min in Australia, 120 min in The Netherlands, 140 min in Italy, 144 min in Great Britain and 199 min/day in the United States" (Goris et al. 2010). The results between 6 different countries showed that United States spent most time watching the television and exposure of food advertising were also relatively high here in the United ... • 5. Grounded Theory Of The Theory grounded theory of 1967 and this development and testing of theory involved in grounded theory will make it difficult to be classified as ordinary inductive based on the fact that theory not necessarily meant to be tested in purely inductive research. Another point is the fact that classic grounded theory originally is expected to commence without theory make it fundamentally different from case study strategy. This is a point of argument between the two originators of the theory Glaser and Strauss after they split on the opinion on whether it is possible to commence grounded theory with conceptual framework. Strauss and his new partner Corbin in Corbin and Strauss (1990) agued to support opportunity for conceptual framework at the start of a research study while Glaser in Glaser (1992) countered the position of Strauss and Corbin by affirming that the essence of grounded theory is to developed theory from empirical data and that issue of testing or verification is not part of grounded theory. Today, theorists are fundamentally split along these two directions. This research study is aligned with Strauss and Corbin direction but will not use classic grounded theory to avoid confusion but the basic principle of Strauss and Corbin in the use of both inductive and deductive approaches will be employed. Ethnography: Ethnography is a naturalistic, time consuming research that have its origin attached to the field of anthropology (Saunders et al., 2009). Researcher using this ... • 6. Qualitative Research: Exploratory Method Qualitative research is a broad term for exploratory methodologies described as ethnographic, anthropological, naturalistic, field or participant observation research. It addresses the significance of looking at variables in the natural setting in which they are found in research. Relations between variables are essential parts of the research. Detailed data is collected through open ended questions from the respondents. The interviewer is a fundamental part of the research (Jacob, 1988). Creswell (1998), defines qualitative research as the process of understanding a social or human phenomenon, based on methodological research background. Researchers aim at generating a complex, holistic view, at analysing and describing the angle of the subjects within a natural context. Several lines of research can be seen as the roots of qualitative methods. Leedy & Ormrod (2001) classified the qualitative research into descriptive, experimental and causal comparative research. Moreover, there are five areas of qualitative methods: case study, ethnography study, phenomenological study, grounded theory study, and content analysis. These five areas are representative of research that is built upon inductive reasoning and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The basic strength of the qualitative approach to cultural assessment is the ability to explore for underlying values, beliefs, and assumptions. To gain a full admiration of an organization, it is necessary to understand what is driving their behavior (Yauch & Steudel, 2003, p. 472). The other great benefit with a qualitative approach is that the inquiry is broad and open–ended, allowing the participants to raise issues that matter most to them. The qualitative researcher typically does not have a preconceived, finite set of issues to examine (Yauch & Steudel, 2003, p. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
 • 7. Methodology And Format Of Any Scientific Work Essay Research design This refers to the plan, structure and format of any scientific or statistical work. It serves the purpose of guiding the researcher in his study and will set out the framework to be used. Research design will basically cover the data collection process, tools of collecting such data, how the tools will be used to collect data and how to analyze the collected data into a useful form (Gosling, 2014). A problem will be raised by researcher in which he will carry out his course study to draw an answer throughcollecting data (Meyer, et al, 2012). The research process is as follows: Statement of problem is identified( Research problem); Making a plan how to start the actual research is determined; Determining research type to use and Stating methods to use. The research problem will be identified as follows: 1.Obtaining a problem you are already aware of. You may choose from social environment and any other facts that researcher knows. 2.Asking from experts and teachers. This is also another avenue of obtaining a research problem. Practitioners can be interviewed who will provide a much deeper insight to a problem. This is one of the best methods since practitioners have myriad of experience in research field and 3.Reviewing from books The following are the types of research design: Action form of Research Design This type of research design follows a process where an exploratory approach is adopted, a detailed interpretation of research problem and action ... There have been various methods taken to evaluate the subject and they are highlighted in this section and then a valid analysis has been conducted and the entire population was kept in view and the sample and its collection types. The research design means the procedures and the gathering of data for the study. The design can be in different types: exploratory, descriptive or applied. Exploratory design means when data and information are obtained as basic priority and the proper sequence of data collection is followed. For understanding the integration of different ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 3.1 Data Collection Primary and secondary are the two major forms of any particular study. Primary has unprocessed and information which is not manipulated and it is gathered directly from the source whereas secondary means a reliance on the already researched work which is available and has been researched by numerous scholars and researchers. Both methods are used to gather the important info for the use of exploratory study as in this case. 3.2 Primary data collection Bryman and Bell (2007) said that to carry out a qualitative data then there are two methods used: direct observation and conduction an interview. This approach always provides an analysis in detail and elaborates the research. Creswell (2009) had this view that primary data is important and has a great significance because it is always in a raw form and it is more authentic because it has been collected directly from the source. So, for this study it was suggested to conduct primary data from the students who are studying in UK and the method used for semi–structured interview. The reason for using semi structured interview is that; researcher can easily edit the questions asked in a semi–structured interview session before they are answered and the questions can be manipulated which makes it more valuable and important for any research. To conduct an interview, the queries are based on the idea to rely on the basic aim and objective of the field of the study and also highly ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Next, describe what you thought and/or felt about those events or observations. Use an extra sheet of paper if necessary. In this week, it was challenging too. I was very stressed because I was waiting for Mr. Alex to give me a new assignment to do since in most times I do the assignment outside the office. The reason is that the office is so small and there is no place for me to work in the office. However, I meet with Mr. Alex or Rosa hisresearch assistant every week to make sure that I understand the task that I have to perform. In this week Ms. Alex was outside the office and Rosa took his place to explain to me the assignments and help me understand. I was very stressed and worried about the assignment and the time that I will take to complete since it was a very busy week. It was the week after the final exams and I had to write ten pages for Organizational behavior's class and another research paper for English class. It was very hard and challenging because it was my first time doing a research paper and writing ten pages essay. I was very worried to the point that I was crying. It always took me a long time and so much energy just to get ready and build my confidence to do it. My word that I always say is "I can do it, I can do it." • 13. Effective Computational Tool for the Segmentation of... 3.1 PROBLEM FORMULATION In order to get the digital copies of printed pictures, segmentation is needed. The main purpose of this work is to analyze how a better and the efficient system can be designed to segments two or more pictures from the same printed document page at the same time. Most of the previous methods for achieving this particular problem is useful only when single image has to segment from the printed document. This particular system will also help us to extract title images and the images in between two pages. For this either digital cameras or flatbed scanners can be used but there is various advantages of digital camera over flatbed scanners such as portability, acquisition without contacting and fast response, whereas the flat scanners requires high computing power. So clearly there is need to develop such effective computational tool for the segmentation of the images from the printed document. 3.2 OBJECTIVES By keeping following objectives in mind we are developing such a computational tool: I.To extract more than 1 Image from a Single Document Page so that the limitation of single image extraction can be removed. II.To extract the small and large images by using the method of detecting edges of some predefined range of orientation in order to remove the problem related to detecting such boundaries. III.To extract Segmented Images which are lie between 2 pages which can be possible only using digital camera because flatbed scanners can never meet ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

INTRODUCTION The topic entitled "GROWTH OF NUMERIC SKU AVAILABILITY OF COCA –COLA PRODUCTS IN THE OUTLETS" explains us about the methods and strategies adopted by the company for increasing the SKU availability in the outlets. The company manufactures more products so as to increase the sales of the company and thus maximize profit. More availability of products helps to increase the scores of SOVI. It is very much necessary to have a good relationship between the retailers and the M.D's. It is very much necessary to prepare an efficient permanent journey plan (PJP) so that M.D's are able to cover all the outlets in a month. The inefficient M.D's should be trained effectively regarding the sales process of the company and see that the M.D's are able to increase the SKU availability in the existing outlets and also be capable to supply products to the new potential outlets. 1 RESEARCH METHODOLOGY OBJECTIVES OF THE RESEARCH – To understand about the sales process by the marketing developer (M.D) To understand the process of outlet activation. To study about the problems faced by the marketing developers (M.D's) in billing of the stock keeping units (SKU's) and supplying of the products. During the early 1970s, America was seeing a rapid increase of youth that were displaying intense acts of violence, and even homicide. In an attempt to understand the potential causal factors that lead to violence in youths, and intern develop a treatment method for the afflicted children, The New York State Department of Youth was tasked in preforming a study to define these two parameters. For the study nine random children who had displayed extreme acts of homicidal violence were selected to represent the dependent variables. The average age of the group was about fourteen, with three of the children being African American, two of the children being Puerto Rican, and the final four children being Caucasian. Each child had bean randomly assigned to the research study purely on the bases that they had committed acts of homicide at a young age. The first stages of the study were based around an exploratory design, as the researchers that that point only intended to discover the potential causes for the violent behavior, with the hypotheses being that the act of homicide serving the same psychological purpose for all the children, regardless of age, gender, or ethnicity. To begin the study each of the nine children received a background check, psychiatric evaluation, and subsequently an IQ test. Expectedly each of the children had come from home that displayed a heavy drinking atmosphere, an abusive relationship with one or both of the parents, and parents guilty of neglect. Article Review "What Predicts Human Trafficking" The article that is under review is titled "What Predicts Human Trafficking" by Kevin Bales. Aims of this article seek to highlight the most important predictor of human trafficking on a global scale. According to Bales, multiple indicators that identify human trafficking have previously been acknowledged by earlier investigations. These indicators derive from social, political, cultural and economic difficulties that affect the livelihoods of an individual with respect to global location. The assessment of variables during the scope of research distinguishes prospects, destitution, and controversy as the critical factors in determining the incidence of human trafficking. Additionally,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To satisfy the concerns of the posed questions, the author examines country data and potential indicators that contribute to the prevalence of human trafficking. To assist in the understanding of data in terms of numerical values, as such data fails to exist according to Bales, the utilization of two approaches assisted in guided research. The first approach that Bales refers to in the article was the use of a five point scale to provide a representation of quantity for international trafficking. The five point scale categorized countries by compartmentalizing and observing each independent country in relation to the incidence of trafficking in that region. In addition to the five point scale, Bales incorporated the use of multiple regressions in unearthing the answers to the previously stated questions. As regression seeks to pinpoint a change in dependent variables in relation to change in multiple independent variables, this method of conducting research is ideal for this area of discussion as little to no research currently exists to base claims. According to findings in research, prospects, destitution, political duplicity, and controversy are the major underlying predictors of trafficking. The use of multiple regressions operations as a means to highlight the strongest predictors of human trafficking reveal political duplicity as the prevailing indicator in trafficking from a country on a global scale; while the percentage of ... The second major flaw in the coffee taste studies is the existence of external variables. It is evident that the first and third studies had underlying variables that may have significantly affected their outcomes. The first study notes that "the author of this study personally purchased coffee to go at four places, took them to his office, tasted them, made notes and drew conclusions" (pg. 63). This indicates a major flaw of this particular study because the time frames for which each cup of coffee was obtained and then consumed are inconsistent. The third study also indicates the existence of possible external variables given the location in which it was conducted. According to the text, "the researchers stood outside a small organic specialty shop and interviewed 100 customers as they exited the shop" (pg. 63). Based on the choice of location, it can be argued that the results of this study mainly coincide with the preferences of consumers with a high interest in organic products. Byrnes' paper is an exploratory case study into the impact of segregated religious instruction in public schools. Given that the research problem in this report is ambiguous, the basic research method adopted is exploratory research. The role of exploratory research is to clarify and define a problem at the initial stage of the research. Zikmund, Ward, Lowe, Winzar and Babin (2011), suggest that exploratory research is not intended to provide conclusive evidence and is conducted with the expectation that subsequent research will be required to provide such conclusive evidence. Thus, exploratory research is the foundation of the research process which will lead to descriptive research, and maybe causal research. There are many exploratory methods that can be used to conduct research. These include field studies, action research, depth interviews, focus groups and desk research. This exploratory research utilised one qualitative method to collect data, which will help gain an insight of the research problem before further research is performed. The method chosen was 'in–depth interviews' which are relatively unstructured and extensive interviews in which the interviewer asks many questions and probes for in–depth answers (Zikmund, Ward, Lowe, Winzar, & Babin; 2011). Zikmund, Ward, Lowe, Winzar, and Babin, (2011) also suggest that there is no one perfect method which can meet all research objectives. In–depth interviews have been conducted with four members of the public who currently live in Australia and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
 • 44. Comparing Study Designs for Citation Bias In an explanatory research design, the most likely kind of bias is the citation type. In citation bias, researchers may be reluctant to publish some discouraging findings, especially if they believe that they may tarnish their reputations or personal abilities and affect the effectiveness of their products. For that reason, citation bias makes researchers submit positive results only for publication, while suppressing negative findings. In most cases, the motive of citation bias is to gain popularity or self–appraisal (Riegelman, 2005). Positive results, also known as statistically significant findings, may include results that show that a certain intervention is functioning well. Citation bias is likely to be encountered in explanatory research designs because through them, causal hypotheses can be investigated, analyzed, tested, and published. Explanatory research investigates why certain variables are related and it tries to look into the causes of certain phenomena. However, in the process of publication of the findings, some researchers are likely to concentrate on positive results alone and ignore the negative ones (Riegelman, 2005). Citation bias may be common in medical research studies, especially in those that try to find the cure for a significantly important or mysterious pathogen. In this case, only the positive sides of the results are likely to be published. For example, a potential drug against a certain intractable virus, which has been researched on, is ... Research allows us to better understand what is unknown, how a human thinks, why a dog barks when they hear a stranger approaching or that the earth is round and not flat. Research allows us to find answers to the questions we have. Research attempts to both understand and define. There are three kinds of research; Explanatory; Exploratory and Descriptive research. Explanatory, Exploratory and Descriptive research define what research is; Research is the attempt to explain, explore and describe (Neuman, 2006, 24). Sensitivity: The ability for the scale to measure both the response and stimuli without being affected. It is possible for a measure to have one and not all of the above criteria's. If it lacks one of the measurements the chances of the study/research lacking credibility are higher. What is different about attitude measurement compared to other phenomena we might study? What does this require us to do differently in defining variables compared to the measurement of other phenomena? Is there any characteristic of the survey method that makes this problem easier to overcome? Attitude measurement is when a research is studying the reaction of participants to a certain phenomena; while when studying a phenomena you are attempting to explore and describe it. When measuring a phenomena the variables are clear and known while with attitude measurement they are not. In order to overcome the lack of control over the variable within attitude measurements you can create a clear responses that respondents choose from (Ex: unsatisfactory, satisfactory, ... Research is actually conducted in Criminal Justice itself. Research is done in Criminal Justice for a number of reasons. Research can be conducted in Criminal Justice for three main reasons; social problems, policy and academics. Then a number of other additional reasons are exploration, description, explanation, application, predictive and finally intervening. Within why research is conducted is another important aspect of Criminal Justice is Methodology; which is how the research is being conducted. Each of these topics will further be explained in depth. This is very important in the Criminal Justice field because if it's impossible to understand why someone is doing something, it will be very difficult to stop it. This is very relevant to researching because of social problems. By understanding and explaining social problems perhaps they can be prevented in the future. An example of explanatory research from Dantzker and Hunter's book is why particular people become serial killers. (2016) Gathering this important research that gives answers can help find ways to stop or try to prevent it. The methodology of explanatory research would be researching and gathering evidence then further analyzing that evidence as to why a specific event or issue occurs in Criminal Justice. Explanatory research is a very important part of all Criminal Justice research conducted, because if it's not understood why something is happening there is a very small chance that it's possible to come up with a way to stop ... Work: Scientific Method and Exploratory Research Analytical research is a type of research that utilises critical thinking to find out facts about a given topic and from the answers obtained develop new and useful ways of doing things. Critical thinking is a method of thinking that puts assumptions into question to decide whether a given claim is true or false. When writing an analytical research paper, you must perform a variety of tasks beforehand. The first step is to formulate a thesis and then gather your sources that will be used. The sources should then be evaluated for accuracy. Everything should then be meticulously documented. There are many topics that can be used for this purpose.
