Are Homeless People Right Or Wrong
Is it wrong to stare at someone after they fall rather than help them? Is it right to give money to a homeless man begging in front of a sign that says
no soliciting? Everyday we face situations where we must decide whether something is right or wrong before we do it, or it'll be considered immoral
or wrong. With this stigma in mind, is the difference between right and wrong clear? How are we affected by this kind of thought process? Though
many people perceive right and wrong as a singular, definitive, or one–sided, statement where as something can ONLY be right or wrong, it is much
more complex than that. Right and wrong is relative, in need of variables, or in our case, in need of circumstances. A long time ago, I read an article
that said a group of scientists took a sample... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Nearly all of the kids said the man was wrong for committing a crime of stealing, while everyone north of 14 years old had said that it was justified
because they were homeless. It is this gap of judgement that helps define the difference between right and wrong. Without taking personal feelings into
consideration, you can conclude that there is no right or wrong, what is right to one may be wrong to others, you can even use that logic to the
statement i just made! From the moment we are able to comprehend spoken language and/or communicate through some other method, we are taught
that there is a right and wrong without being able to fully grasp the content of a situation. This leads to kids to decide that something is right or wrong
without putting any thought into their answer. Even considering that judgement skills aren't fully developed, to some it might cause them to think in
that very linear fashion their whole lives. This Keth 1 could lead to discrimination, the belief that your ideas and way of life is superior to others, and
unfair, but not necessarily wrong actions imposed on others. During the time of Salem

Redemption In Les Miserables
The Change From Past To Present "True redemption is when guilt leads to good" (Khaled Hosseini). Not one person on earth is completely free
from wrongs. Humans have lapses in judgement that can hurt them and others. Some people believe you can be redeemed and can put your wrongs
behind you, these people are kind and generous. Others believe you have one chance to get it right, these people are often angry and judgmental.
There are also those who believe that someone can't be redeemed, but begin to realize that people can change. By looking at the Bishop, Javert, and
Jean Valjeanand their actions it becomes clear that Les Miserables is a book about redemption coming to those who did wrongs in their past and
the behaviors of those who believe and don't believe. The Bishop was only in Les Miserables for a short time but the effect he had on Jean Valjean
carried throughout the entire book. The Bishop believes that people can make lousy decisions but still be redeemed of them. When Jean Valjean
stole the silver the Bishop didn't condemn him, he gave him the chance to change the path he was going down, ". . . God has brought you out of
darkness. I have bought your soul for God" (Movie). The Bishop's feelings on redemption made him a kind generous man, giving Jean Valjean a
chance at a new life. Javert is a foil of the Bishop, he believes people can't be redeemed of their wrongs and is severe as a result. Throughout much of
the book the police inspector, Javert,

Personal Ethical Argument
The set of personal ethical principles which I live by are comprised of a belief in absolute right and wrong, man's duty to obey God, and also his
duty to love his neighbor as himself; each of these principles were formed by a Faith in God and in the Bible. The principle of absolute right and
wrong was constructed through understanding that if right and wrong were contingent on man's opinions and attitudes, then both laws and guidelines
would become pointless. Furthermore, God shows that right and wrong are absolute and not contingent on man when He states His warning, "Woe
unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!" (Isaiah
5:20). In addition to this principle, I also came to believe that man is called to obey God for several reasons: He is all–powerful, He created man to
give Himself glory, and He desires what is best for us. Like the two previous ethical principles, loving one's neighbor as himself, was constructed out of
a faith in God and in His infallible Word. Man is called to perform this practice because, as the Bible states, God "... first loved us." (1 John 4:19)...

Furthermore, one also may improve in identifying which actions are right and wrong in moral dilemmas. An example of this would be when I
considered quitting my youth group band. Although I loved my role in the group, it was wrong for me to continue; it was hypocritical to be in a
leadership role with an unclean heart. By understanding that right and wrong are absolute, I knew that it did not matter if it was me or another person,
it was wrong. Because of this reality, I quit the band until I became right with

sula feminism
Feminism and anti–feminism in Sula: Right or wrong? Feminism has been in society for decades. In some societies, we see how women are kept in
their boundaries. In some countries women have to cover their entire bodies in clothing to keep from dishonoring their families. In most traditional
societies a woman is to remain virginal to be considered worthy of marriage. In America, women were constrained to the household and weren't
allowed to work or vote. These actions were and are considered by some, anti–feminist. But, when is feminism taken to far? Has the act of feminism
become an excuse for women to act out because we have rights? Or is it ok to do so to be considered liberated. Whenever a woman does something
negative she is in... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Of course some acts of feminism are to be considered acts of heroism. But, are women today getting the wrong message from what Sula is all
about? Sula is not about sleeping around to prove her worth, or saying what she pleases to be rude. Sula is about the independence in a woman.
Not being submissive to a man, but being your own person. Sula represents the rights women should have to do as they please without being wild
as some women take being a feminist as today. Feminism in retrospect is about having the same rights as men. But, that does not make the wrong
things that men do ok for a woman to do as well. Whether done by a man or a woman, some behavior is still not appropriate. Feminism used to be
about equal rights for jobs and voting and important matters. Now, women use feminism and equal "rights" to perform behavior that is not ideal
behavior for anyone with good morals. As a country that believes in Christ should feminism even exist? Women who have the wrong idea of
feminism give up their dignity and pride to be considered free. Women have sex freely and men still look down on them. Instead of being viewed as
pure you are viewed as dirty. If anything, the act of feminism has caused women to be even more degraded today. Women expose themselves in music
videos and pornography. Women are looked at as mere objects of pleasure. If we stuck to the biblical meaning of a woman, women could

Good Opinion On Socrates
To be as good as one can be without the fear of having to face death is what Socrates strongly wants Athenians to do. "You are wrong, sir, if you
think that a man who is any good at all should take into account the risk of life or death... whether he is acting like a good or a bad man." (Apology,
28B). What Socrates is trying to say to the Athenians is that a good man should only focus on his actions, to make sure that what he is doing is
the right and not wrong, and whether what he is doing will make him a better person. It is not about what everyone else wants us to do and follow
but to live a good and moral life. That if a person examines whether what he is doing is right death should not even cross his mind. If someone is
being put on trial or tried to death he should not be ashamed or embarrassed and the reason for that is because he is following what he believes is
right and not wrong. Socrates mentions in his "Apology" that if someone were ever to ask him if he felt ashamed of living the life that he was
living and he was being put to trial and tried for death for it he would say that he is wrong for having asked such a question like that. Wrong
because if he is living and knows he is living a pious life then there is nothing to be ashamed of, he is living the way that the gods want him and
everyone else to live and that is by having self knowledge. It would then be wrong if one started living a life of falseness and wickedness by doing
things that would get him to avoid death. Socrates also talks about how a good man should never assume he knows something when in reality he
does not. "I differ from the majority of men... I do know, however, that it is wicked and shameful to do wrong. To disobey one's superior, be he god
or man. I shall never fear or avoid things of which I do not know, whether they may not be good rather than things that I know to be bad." (Apology,
29B–C). Socrates mentions that if there is one thing that he differs from everyone else is that he acknowledges that he does not know about the
underworld and there is no reason to fear. Whereas, Athenians claim that it is the greatest of all evils and they would do anything to avoid it. What
Socrates then has that the Athenians do not have is

Many people today receive mail in various of ways. Today, many people receive mail by phone or computer, but most of us get our mail by letter/card
and people believe that the mail is a piece of paper in an envelope that's harmless and safe to handle However, in 2001, there was a mysteries anthrax
attack by mail which scared tons of people in Trenton, New Jersey because it happened a week after the 9/11 plane crashing in the twin towers killing
tons of innocent people. This attack was terrifying to civilians who lost their loved ones in the attack on September 11, 2001 because they were afraid
that this situation was another attack on America. Unfortunately, 5 people were killed and and another 15 were poisoned from the attrax traced letters

My Love Story
I loved Bob with all my heart, or as much as you could love someone in 1252 in England as a female. I have told you about Bob before, haven't I? He
knew everything about me–from my favorite color to my deepest secrets. We did everything together, too; we went to the pond together, we went to
the market together, we even ate together. We always exchanged "I love you" whenever we saw each other, and everyone thought we would
eventually get married. He cared about me, and I cared about him. We were the perfect love story. Of course, all perfect stories must come to an
end. It was a warm autumn day. The sun was shining, the leaves on the trees were brilliant reds, oranges, and golds, and everyone was out taking
care of business on our measly dirt road. Bob and I had spent the day cleaning his home and taking care of his younger sisters, so we were both
burning up. As we left his house, I had a brilliant idea. "Bob darling, let us go to the pond. We can cool off there!" The pond was a beautiful,
tranquil place. The only sounds that could be heard were the breeze rustling the weeping willows beside the pond and the birds chirping in the
willows. The pale, calm blue of the pond had helped me fall asleep a number of times. It was a wonderful place to cool off and swim, too. Bob
however, instead of getting excited–as he had on multiple occasions at any mention of the pond–jumped away from me, guilt written on his face. "I
can't, I...I..." "Bob? Are you alright?" I asked, concerned. "Of course. I just can't come to the pond today," he responded, his composure regained.
"I...uh...I have other plans. I'm sorry." "Oh. Alright then. It's okay." He smiled at me, and I smiled back, although it was a little forced. Then, he
turned around and disappeared into the bustle of the market. As I watched him walk away, my smile faded. What was wrong with him? Or is it me?
He always hung out with me, even if he had previous arrangements. This continued for days; I would want to do something together, but Bob would
have other engagements. Soon, we were doing nothing. I quickly grew suspicious. What could he possibly be doing? Eventually, I decided to follow
him to his 'other engagements'. It was a

Introduction
Guilt is a raw instinctive emotion of the human nature. Is there a general way through human beings and all other forms of life would be distinguished
from one another. Both humans and other forms of life on earth have the element of life, the element of survival. Through feeding and excretion they
are both similar. In almost every aspect of life for both human and other forms of life, they are identical to each other. If for example, both did not feed,
their fate would be equally the same. Through the theory of evolution of man, it is argued that he evolved from the most basic form of life and over
the years evolved in what he is today, a prime being, at the top of the list. But what differentiates the two apart. Intellectuality and the ability to use
reason is the very fundamental difference between human beings and other forms of life. Having intellect means the ability to use reason to make
decisions and choices. There however, is a difference between choices. Choices could either be voluntary or involuntary. Actions that are made through
involuntary choices could be termed as the raw instincts elements of man, some of which could probably be compared to those of animals and other
living organisms. On the other hand, there are actions that are based on voluntary choices, actions that an individual knows their consequence but goes
on to do them.
Take for example, a little child not more than 5 years, meaning that his

Why Is Gay Marriage Wrong
It seems that ever since gay marriage has been legalized the nation has been buzzing about what is right and what is wrong. The 4 months after gay
marriage was legalized, there are still protests going on that it should be wrong and illegal. There are plenty of facts to show that both sides could be
right or wrong. Gay marriage is wrong. The bible says that," man may not lay with mankind, neither woman with womankind". The bible quote
means that a man and man shall not be together nor a woman and a woman, and the importance of this quote from the bible is that if man was with
man and woman was with woman, none of us would be here right now. Christianity is not the only religion that says that gay marriage is wrong.
There are over 15 different religions that think gay marriage is wrong. Muslims and Buddhists are two examples of these religions. Gay marriage is
wrong and should be illegal because there are plenty of facts and reasoning behind it. There are studies showing that kids raised by straight parents
are more successful in life than those raised by gay parents. A 2012 study by Mark Regnerus (Associate Professor of Sociology at the University of
Texas) found that children raised by gay ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

chaos it has caused between the gay protestors and the people who believe that it is wrong. There are also plenty of facts to show why it should still
be illegal. Gay marriage is destroying our nation little by little until we do something about

1.Analyze elements of postmodernism and the themes of the film illustrated in these clips from CHILDREN OF MEN.
Children of Men is a perfect example of Postmodernism in film. It features apocalyptic stories and setting, shown in both of the clips. In the first clip,
the opening scene of the movie, we are introduced to this world of infertility and grayness. Even before we see anything, audio of news reports tell us
of the world to expect in the film. In a dreary, gray–toned cafГ©, people gather and watch in silence as the news tells of the death of the youngest
person alive. The somber hopelessness and fear of the ever–approaching end of humanity is clear. Theo is detached and cool in spite of the horrible

did not kill the old man yet, his conscience knows that he is about to. So, his conscience is giving him warning signals to stop what he is doing.
This quote shows that the man is scared of how the old man's eye looks. He is mad that the eye is scary and he can't stand looking at it. His

Good Man Gone Wrong, By Fred Boalt: An Analysis
The relationship between the United States and Pancho Villa played a major role in the history of Mexico. Both parties were involved in the Mexican
Revolution, which lasted from 1910–1920, and the relationship they had with one another significantly altered the course of the revolution. On March
13, 1916, Fred Boalt wrote an article for the Tacoma Times newspaper, entitled Good Man Gone Wrong, describing some details of the Mexican
revolutionary Pancho Villa and the relationship he had with theUnited States. Boalt argues that the shift of relationship between the United States and
Villa ultimately led to Villa becoming a "Good Man Gone Wrong." In a sense, Boalt tries to give a sympathetic view of Villa, by attributing his
change in attitude to the United States severing ties with him. The author of the article is writing from an American point of view, so national biases
can be a factor in his analysis of the US–Villa relationship. In this paper, I will seek to answer the following questions: What kind of relationship did
the United States have with Pancho Villa, and how did this impact theMexican Revolution? To properly understand the relationship ... Show more

Worldview Of A Christian Essay
Worldview of a Christian
What does the world look like through the lens of a Christian? The answers to this question can be found directly from the Bible. There are many parts
to the Christian Worldview, but the seven main parts are; what God is like, the nature of the universe, the nature of man, ethics and morality, the cause
of evil and suffering, what happens to man after death, and the meaning of history. The Biblical Worldview of a Christian is important because it helps
us develop our faith in God and become closer to him. Everyone should have the Biblical Worldview of a Christian.

He wanted man to be a free moral agent; having the choice between right and wrong. Man chose wrong, which caused pain, suffering, and death
entered the world as a result. God has power to stop evil, but it is because of His everlasting patience and grace towards us that He allows our sins to
continue. God did not want to end sin yet, because He did not want to lose anyone. A 2 Peter 3:9 puts it, "The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise,
as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance."
What happens to man at death?
What happens to believers and unbelievers at death is very different. For believers, death is not a punishment. After a Christian dies, the soul of that
person goes into God's presence, where they wait until Jesus' second coming to go to heaven. In Heaven, there is no suffering, death, and grief. In
heaven, the believers worship and praise God forever, and also partake in meaningful work. After an unbeliever dies, their soul goes to hell. When
Jesus returns, they experience the second death, which is eternal torment. Hell is a place of fire and burning, where unbelievers go through weeping
and gnashing of teeth.

The Guilt Of Murder In Edgar Allen Poe's Tell-Tale Heart
When people commit murder, they try to justify their actions with logical reasons for doing so. However, if the reasons are not valid, they try to
convince themselves that they are. The short story "Tell–Tale Heart" by Edgar Allen Poe describes the actions of an unknown narrator who cunningly
murders an elderly man at midnight because of his vulture eye. The narrator recounts the confidence in his finesse of the concealment of the body until
he hears the first unperceived thumping of the dead man's heart, driving him to confess to the police. His frantic attempts to convince the reader of his
justification of the murder and that he is not insane creates suspense that leaves the reader at the edge of their seats at the moment of his ... Show more

One might object here that the narrator lacked the mental capacity to distinguish right from wrong. The claim of mental insanity could be supported by
the narrator's abnormal hearing of the dead old man's heart thumping. "...but the noise arose over all and continually increased. It
grew–louder–louder–louder!" (Poe). It is correct that normal people do not hear dead people's hearts beating, however, what he likely heard was the
sound of his own heart ringing loudly in his ears due to his guilty conscience.
The various instances where the narrator described how afraid he felt when staring at the man's vulture eye specifies that he indeed did have a
motive to kill the old man. In the beginning, he stated that he cared for the old man, but his eye that resembled a vulture frightened him. "...his
blood ran cold" (Poe). His obvious discomfort and contempt when looking at the eye irked him so much that he killed the elderly man to purge the
mere thought of the evil eye from his mind. To add on, every night for eight nights, he would sneak into the old man's room to wait for the
quintessential time to commit the final deed of killing him. However, the narrator had to wait several days to strike because as the old man was
sleeping, his eye was not open and his eye was the true object that vexed him. "...but I found the eye always closed...it was impossible to do the work"
(Poe). On the eighth night, the old man heard a noise, making

The Guilt Of Premeditated Murder In Edgar Allan Poe's...
"True! – nervous – very, very dreadfully nervous I had been and am; but why will you say that I am mad?" (Poe). In "Tell–Tale Heart," Edgar Allan
Poe illustrates that the narrator has an acute need of the old man's vulture eye and eventually murders the man on the eighth night. The author
highlights the events of the murder and soon, the narrator confesses to the police of his guilt. As Edgar Allan Poe fabricates this short story, he
enthralls the readers by giving the events specific detail. If Edgar Allan Poe were to ever continue the story where the narrator would be put on trial,
he would be guilty of premeditated murder. The reason for this is because the narrator cunningly planned the murder, had a motive of killing the old
man, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If the narrator was criminally insane, he wouldn't be deceptively kind to the man everyday before the night of the murder. Also, some characteristics
of criminally insane is that you would lack the mental capacity, would not know the difference between right and wrong, and finally you wouldn't be
able to control your actions. If the narrator ever lacked the mental capacity, he wouldn't be able to plan out what he was going to do. From the
perspective of the premeditated murder side, he planned out what he was going to do. For example, if he was criminally insane, he would not be
deceptively kind to the old man, he would just not talk to him for the rest of the week and eventually the old man would suspect something.
The second reason why he is guilty of premeditated murder is that he had a motive. A motive to assassinate the old man. In the short story, the
author clearly states that he had a motive to kill the old man. Such as, "It is impossible to say how first the idea entered my brain; but, once
conceived, it haunted me day and night." The narrator clearly said that at first, he had the idea to do the deed. When the narrator had a motive, he
decided to make a plan that lasted for about a week. If this was a premeditated murder, an insane man would not have a motive to kill the man or even
thought about it. The insane man would go and kill the man right

The Trolley Case : An Ethical Thought Experiment
Tess Martin PHI 2630–009 (Fall 2017) October 17, 2017 985 Words Consequentialism The Trolley Case is an ethical thought experiment that seeks
to find the "right" solution in killing people. This thought experiment explains that there is a train coming down the tracks on course to run right
into five people. You stand next to a lever which can switch the tracks so that only one person will die. The only options you have are to do
nothing and allow five people to die, or pull the lever so that only one person will die. In Trolley Case 2, you can save five people from the train by
pushing a large man off of a bridge, and into the path of the train. This man would be large enough to stop the train, thus saving the other five people's
lives.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A Utilitarian might agree with the consequentialist. Utilitarianism is a form of consequentialism which requires an action to, "Maximize welfare
where the welfare of all individuals who will be affected by some action counts," (Timmons, 7). An action is "right" or "wrong" based on whether
or not it makes people happy or if it positively impacts their welfare. In the Trolley Cases, more people will end up alive if the train is diverted; this
creates a situation that maximizes the welfare of people. A Utilitarian would surely divert the train, or push the man off the bridge, to ensure their
actions create the maximum amount of happiness in society. There would be more suffering from the victims and their family members if five
people died compared to that if just one person died. According to consequentialism, there is an inconsistency if one is to divert the train and not
push the man off of the bridge. One simply cannot be willing to sacrifice one life and not another. To pull the lever in Trolley Case 1 and sacrifice
one person instead of five is essentially the same thing as pushing the man off of the bridge in Trolley Case 2. There is not morally relevant difference
in these two situations

Social Reality And Its Effect On Self Image
The idea that humans internalize their cultures' social norms to a degree at which these norms affect their self–image is a long debated argument
among many social sciences. From psychology to history, the idea of socialization has sprung a diverse variety of theories, all proclaiming that their
theory is the answer. All of these social theories provoke questions about social reality. Social reality is a complex evaluation of what is considered
biological reality and what is considered individual cognitive reality. These realities are created by social interaction thus influencing individual
motives and actions, so how can one theory answer it all. Dennis H. Wrong (1961), an American sociologist and professor ofsociology at New York
University, suggests that much like the question of social reality the answer is complex thus no single theory can correctly affiliate with all the
problems surrounding social reality.
Wrong's (1961) reflection on the one–sided answer of social reality is argued in his work published by the American Sociological Review, titled The
Over socialization Conception of Man in Modern Sociology. Wrong states "Sociological theory originates in the asking of general questions about
man and society. The answers lose their meaning if they are elaborated without reference to the question, as has been the case" (Wrong 1961:183)
Wrong later supports his claim by critiquing two of the leading theories on socialization, the Freudian view of man and the Hobbesian

Socrates Vs Plato Dualism
Morals, as defined by The Merriam–Webster dictionary, stands for " of or relating to principles of right and wrong in behavior". You can see the
evidence of morals in every activity, choosing to be honest or to lie, possessing respect or showing contempt, exhibiting kindness or inconsideration,
all are examples of moral code. Many may argue that there is dualism in the world, two opposing principles, either good or evil, and others may take
the stance of monism, stating that it is only necessary to choose one theory for your moral decision making. Well there are manymorality perspectives

Olympus Station – Somewhere between Earth and Mars Six years ago...
"So what's the deal, Cap? You not gonna unwind a little bit while we're here?" Wyatt McKenzie looked at his young navigator and smiled slightly. At
six one, he stood considerably taller. "I'd just rather read a book and catch up on some sleep, Gavin."
"Read a book?" The young ensign shook his head. The flight terminal of the space station was packed – with humans and more. Gavin Teague was
barely in his twenties and had a headful of wavy black hair, unlike the bald McKenzie. His eyes scanned the crowds of people excitedly. "We've been
cooped up on that ship for nearly two weeks, Cap. The crew needs a chance to unwind more than the passengers do. Even you."
"We're schedule to return to Earth in three days," Wyatt reminded him.
Gavin followed his captain onto the tram platform and looked down the magnetic tracks to look for their transport. "With all due respect, sir, that's
three days from now. There's a lot of fun to be had between now and then." "Another three hundred passengers making their way back home from
here, Mars and beyond. We have plenty of work to do making sure the Agamemnon is shape before we do." Wyatt reminded him and he saw the young

Seventh Man Essay: Objective Guilt
Seventh Man Essay "Objective guilt is when the guilt is fitting to one's action: guilt is appropriate because one acted to deliberately harm
someone, or could have prevented harm and did not". The Seventh man is a story about a man who is in a support group telling a story about his
friend K. he lost in large wave and years after the accident still feels guilty. Some people may believe after reading the fictional story that the
Seventh Man should not feel guilty that he did everything he could to save K. I think differently than those people and believe that you should feel
guilty. I believe that the Seventh Man could have done more to save his friend K. from being drowning and should not forgive himself. The Seventh
Man should not forgive himself for what happened to his friend K. because he could have done more. Not only could the seventh man have done
more, but he even basically said that he could have done more. In the story at one point it says, "I told myself to run over to K., grab hold of him, and

paragraph I had said about how K. found himself running in the opposite direction away from K., this is another piece of evidence that shows that
the Seventh Man could have saved his friend K. The other side believes he is innocent because he had nothing to do with the wave and did not
physically harm K. However, he knew the wave was coming from previous signs, he knew K. could not hear him, and he knew he had time to run
over and grab K. to keep him from being submerged by the wave. The Seventh man easily could have saved his friend K. from being engulfed by the

Persuasive Essay On To Kill A Mockingbird
Have you ever done something because everyone else was doing that thing? Have you ever bought something because a friend or because everyone
else has that thing? In To Kill a Mockingbird: The Screenplay written by Horton Foote, Atticus Finch defends Tom Robinson an alleged rapist who was
an African American during theGreat Depression. Everyone told Atticus what he was doing was wrong, defending a black man during The Great
Depression. Tom Robinson was an innocent man in the Great Depression who's only case against him was that he was black and was seen near the
scene at the time when Mrs. Mayella was beaten. He was being unfairly tried and represented in the court just because he was an African American
during an extremely racist time in the South. Atticus saw it different than everyone else, he was the only one willing to believe Tom Robinson when
everyone else was saying he was wrong because he was a black man. Sometimes doing the right thing happens when everyone else is telling you are
wrong. Atticus Finch Believed in Tom Robinson when no one else did. Do what is right when everyone is telling you are wrong. When Atticus is
defending people, he will do whatever it takes to help that person out even if they can't afford his services. When Mr.Cunningham was needing
Atticus's services and couldn't afford them, Atticus came up with a way that would help him. Mr.Cunningham brought hickory nuts to Atticus in order
to pay off a legal debt. No one would help Mr.Cunningham, but Atticus saw that he was a good man and was worth fighting for him even though he
could not pay Atticus. He was the only one willing to help the poor in a time when almost no one had money. "He is paying me for some legal work I
did for him... That's the only way he can ... he has no money"(Foote page 7).Atticus understood that it was tough times for most people and that the
farmers had no money so he came up with a way for Mr. Cunningham to pay for his legal entailments when no else would help Mr.Cunningham. He
knew in his heart that helping Mr.Cunningham with his legal entailments was the right thing to do when no one else would help him. Everyone

Analysis Of Edgar Allan Poe's Tell Tale Heart
In the depths of the night, a loud shriek comes from a man who would later be assassinated and hidden under the floorboards of his own chamber. In
Edgar Allan Poe's Tell Tale Heart, the story of this murder is told from the point of view of the killer. The narrator tells of the man's vulture
–like eye,
which causes him to murder the man to rid himself forever of the villainy the eye possessed. After the murder, the narrator is haunted by the sound of
the man's beating heart to the point that he has to admit to his felony. In this ghastly tale, the narrator is guilty of premeditated murder because he had a
reason to kill the man, knew right from wrong throughout the story, and had a plan to kill the old man in advance.
To start, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In addition to the fact that the narrator understood that murdering someone is wrong, the narrator has a motive for killing the old man. Right off the
bat, the narrator tells the reader why he wanted to kill the old man. He says, "I think it was his eye! yes, it was this! One of his eyes resembled that of
a vulture–a pale blue eye, with a film over it. Whenever it fell upon me, my blood ran cold; and so by degrees–very gradually–I made up my mind to
take the life of the old man, and thus rid myself of the eye for ever." This indicates that he had a clear rationale for killing the old man and is guilty
of first degree, or premeditated murder. Some may argue that the narrator is mentally insane and killed the man because over an irrational fear caused
by his mental illness. However, an insane person would not wait to terminate a powerful feeling of paranoia and to assassinate the person causing such
fear.
The idea that the narrator was patient enough to wait to kill the old man gives a final indication. As well as having a specific desire to assassinate the
elderly man, the narrator had a plan to go about his killing. This is exhibited when the narrator says, "I was never kinder to the old man than during
the whole week before I killed him." This is the first indication that he

Theoretical Problems Of Ethics And Ethics
Theoretical Problems of Ethics
Introduction
Ethics is the conception about the "right" and "wrong". It is related to the man and the society. It supports the concept of doing good things and
disgraces the thinking of behaving in the wrong way with others. It is the well–known fact that the ethics don't implement on the logics in doing right or
wrong. Along with sometimes it can stand against the morality. For example the death sentence is ethically wrong, because it takes the life of a man,
which can become the better part of society in future. So, ethically the death sentence should be stopped. But, the morally death sentence creates fear
among the people and they get the lesson for the future that who will be done wrong with others will face the death at the end.
Along with this, ethics has some theoretical problems. These problems are related to different aspects of ethics which are not justified on the basis of
philosophy. Most of the times these problems create confusion in the minds of human beings to identify what is right and what is wrong in certain
situations.
Three theoretical problems of ethics
Mainly ethics have three theoretical problems. First one is the problem of the origins of ethics which means it is a problem creating for the people to
find out that what is right and what is wrong. The Second one is the problem of relativism which holds the question that what is the relationship of
ethics with the society (Mizzoni, 2009). The third one is the problem

different things. It all depends on how you interpret it. I believe that Teiresias is explaining that a good man knows how to admit when he is wrong
and tries to fix the problem that his mistake has caused. "The only crime is pride." Teiresias is demonstrating the negative side of a man and what

make mistakes, but trying to cover the mistakes up is not the right thing to do. Think about it, every time you choose to tell a lie you have to tell
1,000 more just to cover up the first lie. Wouldn't it just me easier to tell the truth? It takes a good man to confess his wrongs, those who can not
always find themselves in bad predicaments all the time. Telling the truth is always the way to go. I use to have the hardest time confessing the
things that I do incorrectly. It was hard for me to accept that I could mess up, but when I got older I started playing sports. Playing basketball and

Gay Marriage Right or Wrong
Gay Marriage Right or Wrong
There are so many ethical issues that are continuously debated and still there has been no resolution. Gay Marriage is an ethical issue that has been
debated for years. This is an issue that I think that will continue to be debated as a clear answer as to why it is morally wrong has yet to be determined.
For so long a deontological view has been applied to the subject. Those who are opposed to same sex marriage take on this view. I do not think that a
deontological view will solve the issue of whether same sex marriage is right or wrong. However I do fee l that taking on a perspective brought to the

And allowing gay marriage will only open the door to more broken homes.
On the other hand when taking on a relativism perspective on can argue that children that are raised in same sex parent households are no
different from those raised in a traditional household. Same sex marriage has not only been argued by those who oppose as only being a union
between man and woman. Those opposed can also argue that marriage is not between two people (a man and woman) but of those not related.
This brings in the argument of the what deontologists would support " The Slippery Slope" argument, which argues that allowing same sex
marriage will only lead us down a slope that welcomes incest and polygamy. Those who support this also feel that if gay marriage is allowed that
it would threaten the institution of marriage. I disagree with this argument. I feel that now days a person is going to do what they want. As long as
there are two consenting adults then gay marriage should be allowed. Same sex couples want to be married for the same reasons as heterosexual
couple. I do not feel that allowing gay marriage says hey you can now marry your brother or sister etc. Although it's not talked about a lot there are a
lot of people who practice polygamy. There are different cultures and countries where it is the norm to have more than one wife and it is perfectly
fine. So I do not think this is a slippery slope. Taking a relativism approach when examining the

Antigone By Sophocles: Poem Analysis
The moral compass of planet Earth intends to point north at all times. This isn't always the case. People make mistakes, and others immediately judge
their decision. Are they right, or are they wrong? If they are right, then perfect –– no harm done. If they are wrong feelings of guilt and shame may
overcome. It is at this moment in time where the wrongdoer needs to make a decision in accordance to their actions. In an excerpt from Antigone, by
the classic Greek playwright Sophocles, the wise Teiresias observes, "Think: all men make mistakes, But a good man yields when he Knows his

And repairs the evil" Instead of worrying over being perfect, there is a much easier title to strive for: 'a good man'. In this line of the poem, the
definition of a good man is someone who recognizes the wrong. For example, if a person in a court case knows for a fact that they committed a
crime, they must accept their fate. All other judgement become irrelevant. By definition, accepting the faults makes a better person than those who
lie about them. "The only Crime is pride." At school, work, or even now at home with the help of social media, reputation is a big deal.
Reputations illustrate who we are as a whole. It is the job of the repute to not let any of that success, or maybe failure, get to their head. A true deed
means well when it goes unnoticed. The only time it is necessary to be noticed is when the deed falls short of good meaning. The action is a mistake.
Then, the reputation and pride has to be swallowed in order to learn and develop as a better person.
Wherever a moral compass points, its magnetic north will always intend to pull it back to north. The direction of progress, success, good will. From
this poem, today's world can learn a lot about the functioning a compass. Pride is in the wrong direction, and if Antigone has taught us anything, all we
have left to do is learn from that wrong. Suck it up buttercup, mistakes are meant to be

How Morals Were Shaped Through The Creation Stories
How morals were shaped through the creation stories in the book of Genesis "The first principle of value that we need to rediscover is this: that all
reality hinges on moral foundations. In other words, that this is a moral universe, and that there are moral laws of the universe just abiding as the
physical laws" (Martin Luther King Jr.). Everyone around the world, regardless of gender, race, religion, and political views are defined by their own
moral compass. The decisions that people make are heavily influenced by their own unique moral compass that was shaped through the culture and
societal norms exposed around them. In particular, the book Genesis describes the creation of man and through their creation, brings forth the ideal...

However, this creation story raises multiple questions regarding
Huynh 2 morality in today 's contemporary beliefs. Before, people may blindly take it that God is always right and that we should obey Him
because we will be severely punished if we disobey. Now, people in general have become more open minded and analytical with what they read.
For instance, the story depicts that the reason why Adam and Eve were punished because they ate the fruit that gave them knowledge of right and
wrong. However, Adam and Eve did not know the difference between right and wrong before eating the fruit. For example, after eating the fruit,
Adam and Eve knew it was wrong for them to be naked and tried to cover themselves. So was it right for God to punish Adam and Eve when they
did not know that it was right or wrong to disobey Him? Is it moral to punish those who do not understand what is right and wrong, much less
differentiate the two? In fact, the first story in Genesis shows how destructive God can be to those who do not obey His commands which raises
questions about morality to the reader. Depending on the reader 's interpretation, the story influences their moral compass. Several interpretations
could be: "It is morally wrong to disobey God and to disobey God means we will face dire consequences" or "It is morally wrong to disobey God, but
was it unjust for God to punish those who are ignorant of what is

Homosexuality as a Sin Essay
Homosexuality as a Sin
The topic of homosexuality in religion has many sides. There are those who believe that it is a sin in God's eyes and according to the Bible, and
there are those who believe the God and the Bible are not specific to homosexuals. It is a tough debate based on whether you are a religious person,
how you were raised, and where your morals and ethics stand. You cannot truly believe one way without taking into account the other side and have
valid proof to back it up.
Those who believe that homosexuality is wrong do so by quoting certain phrases from the Bible. For example:

God never created man to be with another man. God created a woman, Eve, out of Adam. God's will is for every man to have a woman. God has
created man out of his own image, and his image is not a homosexual man. According to the Bible, you are this image until you sin, and
homosexuality is considered a sin, and therefore homosexuality is wrong because God did not create man for man, but for woman and the purpose of
procreation. Any other type of relation is wrong in the eye of God.
On the other hand, the Bible also states:
I John 4:7–11, "Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God, and everyone that loveth is born of God and knoweth God. He that loveth not,
knoweth not God, for God is love." The bible tells us that a man cannot serve two masters, for either he will love the one and hate the other. If this is
true, you cannot follow God and hate another. If so, you to are a sinner.
According to the Bible, God totally hates the sin of homosexuality, but God does not hate you. He only hates your sin. Is it correct then to say that
you can agree with God and disagree with the homosexual lifestyle but still love all of God's children, even those who are gay? If this was true and
everyone followed this, we would have no problems with anti–homosexual groups and "gay bashers". If you are a person who follows the teachings of
God, then you cannot hate homosexuals. If you do, then you are, in your own interpretations of the bible, also a

In the Mark Twain story "The Mysterious Stranger", Philip Traum, also known as Satan, teaches Theodor that the Moral Sense that humans possess is
more of an impairment than a gift. The first time Satan degrades Man's Moral Sense is when he uses the term to explain the difference between
himself and Man. Theodor, who was ambivalent about what the Moral Sense was, became upset at the way Satan speaks of it. Theodor feels offended at
first, but then Satan's charisma and tricks gives Theodore mixed feelings. To sway Theodor's feelings, Satan shows Theodor several examples of the

right thing to do. He explains that Man alone is "kind–hearted and shrink from inflicting pain, but in the presence of the aggressive and pitiless
minority they don't dare to assert themselves." He says that we go to war for no apparent reason and "it is unjust and dishonorable, as there is no
necessity for it", but Moral Sense drives us to it. Satan exclaims that "Man is to me as a red spider is to an elephant". He says that an elephant may
live a century, while a red spider's life is rather ephemeral. Man may think that Moral sense makes him above the other animals, and closest to God, but
Satan explains Man is nothing to him and he cannot get to that remote level of Man. Satan also makes the claim that the distinction between Man and
him is immeasurable as Man has no intellect. Moral Sense drives Man to do immoral things, making him "libel the higher

"Spencer, he is not a fit man for the position he holds. And for god's sake he has chosen Chuck for the new position. Chuck should have never gotten
the job, and Ezra shouldn't even be my boss," I responded. "I cannot deal with this misery, this weight that is crushing me. If Mona's brother, Ben knew
that his beloved sister was sleeping around with another while he sat undisturbed by this news, he'd have a heart

Why Is It Morally Permissible To Turn The Runaway Trolley
To begin with, the Trolley case is an experiment where you are put into a situation where you are on a runaway trolley where the breaks do not work
and you are headed for five people and you can either hit the five people, killing them or save them by turning the trolley hitting one person and
killing him. There is another scenario called the Footbridge case where you are in the same situation but in order to save the five people you have to
push a fat man off a bridge stopping the trolley. This is very interesting experiment that questions human ethics and morality. It makes you think
whether or not it is morally permissible to turn the trolley. I argue that there is an important moral difference between the Trolley case and the
Footbridge case because there is a difference between letting someone die to save people and killing someone to save people. ... Show more content on

I disagree with Thompson that it would be impermissible to re–direct the trolley because even though in both cases one person dies from an action you
take, the action has different moral standards of reason of what is right and what is wrong. Most people agree that it is morally permissible to turn
the trolley killing the one man to save people five and it is wrong to push a fat man from a bridge to save five people. Most people believe this
because they know that there is a distinct moral difference between incidentally killing someone and intentionally killing someone. Intentionally killing
some one is a universal law that has serious consequences which is why people view pushing the fat man off the bridge as

Are Homeless People Right Or Wrong

  • 1. Are Homeless People Right Or Wrong Is it wrong to stare at someone after they fall rather than help them? Is it right to give money to a homeless man begging in front of a sign that says no soliciting? Everyday we face situations where we must decide whether something is right or wrong before we do it, or it'll be considered immoral or wrong. With this stigma in mind, is the difference between right and wrong clear? How are we affected by this kind of thought process? Though many people perceive right and wrong as a singular, definitive, or one–sided, statement where as something can ONLY be right or wrong, it is much more complex than that. Right and wrong is relative, in need of variables, or in our case, in need of circumstances. A long time ago, I read an article that said a group of scientists took a sample... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Nearly all of the kids said the man was wrong for committing a crime of stealing, while everyone north of 14 years old had said that it was justified because they were homeless. It is this gap of judgement that helps define the difference between right and wrong. Without taking personal feelings into consideration, you can conclude that there is no right or wrong, what is right to one may be wrong to others, you can even use that logic to the statement i just made! From the moment we are able to comprehend spoken language and/or communicate through some other method, we are taught that there is a right and wrong without being able to fully grasp the content of a situation. This leads to kids to decide that something is right or wrong without putting any thought into their answer. Even considering that judgement skills aren't fully developed, to some it might cause them to think in that very linear fashion their whole lives. This Keth 1 could lead to discrimination, the belief that your ideas and way of life is superior to others, and unfair, but not necessarily wrong actions imposed on others. During the time of Salem ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. Redemption In Les Miserables The Change From Past To Present "True redemption is when guilt leads to good" (Khaled Hosseini). Not one person on earth is completely free from wrongs. Humans have lapses in judgement that can hurt them and others. Some people believe you can be redeemed and can put your wrongs behind you, these people are kind and generous. Others believe you have one chance to get it right, these people are often angry and judgmental. There are also those who believe that someone can't be redeemed, but begin to realize that people can change. By looking at the Bishop, Javert, and Jean Valjeanand their actions it becomes clear that Les Miserables is a book about redemption coming to those who did wrongs in their past and the behaviors of those who believe and don't believe. The Bishop was only in Les Miserables for a short time but the effect he had on Jean Valjean carried throughout the entire book. The Bishop believes that people can make lousy decisions but still be redeemed of them. When Jean Valjean stole the silver the Bishop didn't condemn him, he gave him the chance to change the path he was going down, ". . . God has brought you out of darkness. I have bought your soul for God" (Movie). The Bishop's feelings on redemption made him a kind generous man, giving Jean Valjean a chance at a new life. Javert is a foil of the Bishop, he believes people can't be redeemed of their wrongs and is severe as a result. Throughout much of the book the police inspector, Javert, ... • 3. Personal Ethical Argument The set of personal ethical principles which I live by are comprised of a belief in absolute right and wrong, man's duty to obey God, and also his duty to love his neighbor as himself; each of these principles were formed by a Faith in God and in the Bible. The principle of absolute right and wrong was constructed through understanding that if right and wrong were contingent on man's opinions and attitudes, then both laws and guidelines would become pointless. Furthermore, God shows that right and wrong are absolute and not contingent on man when He states His warning, "Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!" (Isaiah 5:20). In addition to this principle, I also came to believe that man is called to obey God for several reasons: He is all–powerful, He created man to give Himself glory, and He desires what is best for us. Like the two previous ethical principles, loving one's neighbor as himself, was constructed out of a faith in God and in His infallible Word. Man is called to perform this practice because, as the Bible states, God "... first loved us." (1 John 4:19)... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Furthermore, one also may improve in identifying which actions are right and wrong in moral dilemmas. An example of this would be when I considered quitting my youth group band. Although I loved my role in the group, it was wrong for me to continue; it was hypocritical to be in a leadership role with an unclean heart. By understanding that right and wrong are absolute, I knew that it did not matter if it was me or another person, it was wrong. Because of this reality, I quit the band until I became right with ... • 4. sula feminism Feminism and anti–feminism in Sula: Right or wrong? Feminism has been in society for decades. In some societies, we see how women are kept in their boundaries. In some countries women have to cover their entire bodies in clothing to keep from dishonoring their families. In most traditional societies a woman is to remain virginal to be considered worthy of marriage. In America, women were constrained to the household and weren't allowed to work or vote. These actions were and are considered by some, anti–feminist. But, when is feminism taken to far? Has the act of feminism become an excuse for women to act out because we have rights? Or is it ok to do so to be considered liberated. Whenever a woman does something negative she is in... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Of course some acts of feminism are to be considered acts of heroism. But, are women today getting the wrong message from what Sula is all about? Sula is not about sleeping around to prove her worth, or saying what she pleases to be rude. Sula is about the independence in a woman. Not being submissive to a man, but being your own person. Sula represents the rights women should have to do as they please without being wild as some women take being a feminist as today. Feminism in retrospect is about having the same rights as men. But, that does not make the wrong things that men do ok for a woman to do as well. Whether done by a man or a woman, some behavior is still not appropriate. Feminism used to be about equal rights for jobs and voting and important matters. Now, women use feminism and equal "rights" to perform behavior that is not ideal behavior for anyone with good morals. As a country that believes in Christ should feminism even exist? Women who have the wrong idea of feminism give up their dignity and pride to be considered free. Women have sex freely and men still look down on them. Instead of being viewed as pure you are viewed as dirty. If anything, the act of feminism has caused women to be even more degraded today. Women expose themselves in music videos and pornography. Women are looked at as mere objects of pleasure. If we stuck to the biblical meaning of a woman, women could ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Good Opinion On Socrates To be as good as one can be without the fear of having to face death is what Socrates strongly wants Athenians to do. "You are wrong, sir, if you think that a man who is any good at all should take into account the risk of life or death... whether he is acting like a good or a bad man." (Apology, 28B). What Socrates is trying to say to the Athenians is that a good man should only focus on his actions, to make sure that what he is doing is the right and not wrong, and whether what he is doing will make him a better person. It is not about what everyone else wants us to do and follow but to live a good and moral life. That if a person examines whether what he is doing is right death should not even cross his mind. If someone is being put on trial or tried to death he should not be ashamed or embarrassed and the reason for that is because he is following what he believes is right and not wrong. Socrates mentions in his "Apology" that if someone were ever to ask him if he felt ashamed of living the life that he was living and he was being put to trial and tried for death for it he would say that he is wrong for having asked such a question like that. Wrong because if he is living and knows he is living a pious life then there is nothing to be ashamed of, he is living the way that the gods want him and everyone else to live and that is by having self knowledge. It would then be wrong if one started living a life of falseness and wickedness by doing things that would get him to avoid death. Socrates also talks about how a good man should never assume he knows something when in reality he does not. "I differ from the majority of men... I do know, however, that it is wicked and shameful to do wrong. To disobey one's superior, be he god or man. I shall never fear or avoid things of which I do not know, whether they may not be good rather than things that I know to be bad." (Apology, 29B–C). Socrates mentions that if there is one thing that he differs from everyone else is that he acknowledges that he does not know about the underworld and there is no reason to fear. Whereas, Athenians claim that it is the greatest of all evils and they would do anything to avoid it. What Socrates then has that the Athenians do not have is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. The Wrong Man Ivins Many people today receive mail in various of ways. Today, many people receive mail by phone or computer, but most of us get our mail by letter/card and people believe that the mail is a piece of paper in an envelope that's harmless and safe to handle However, in 2001, there was a mysteries anthrax attack by mail which scared tons of people in Trenton, New Jersey because it happened a week after the 9/11 plane crashing in the twin towers killing tons of innocent people. This attack was terrifying to civilians who lost their loved ones in the attack on September 11, 2001 because they were afraid that this situation was another attack on America. Unfortunately, 5 people were killed and and another 15 were poisoned from the attrax traced letters that were delivered the victims. This attack made numerous amount of people speculated an American biologist Bruce Edwards Ivins due to the fact that he worked with anthrax for several years and had suicidal thoughts toward him and women frequently and depressed. But one suspect that plenty of humans thought to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the article "The Wrong Man," it stated "Reports said that Ivins harbored homicidal urges, especially toward women." This goes to shows that there is a possibility that his suicidal feeling toward people and himself may have triggered to come with this terrible idea of killing people by mail and putting them in mail killing the innocent people and later kill himself. This makes Invins a high possible candidate for one of the people that caused the attack because maybe just maybe he would have thought of his "great" plan was to poison and kill ... • 7. My Love Story I loved Bob with all my heart, or as much as you could love someone in 1252 in England as a female. I have told you about Bob before, haven't I? He knew everything about me–from my favorite color to my deepest secrets. We did everything together, too; we went to the pond together, we went to the market together, we even ate together. We always exchanged "I love you" whenever we saw each other, and everyone thought we would eventually get married. He cared about me, and I cared about him. We were the perfect love story. Of course, all perfect stories must come to an end. It was a warm autumn day. The sun was shining, the leaves on the trees were brilliant reds, oranges, and golds, and everyone was out taking care of business on our measly dirt road. Bob and I had spent the day cleaning his home and taking care of his younger sisters, so we were both burning up. As we left his house, I had a brilliant idea. "Bob darling, let us go to the pond. We can cool off there!" The pond was a beautiful, tranquil place. The only sounds that could be heard were the breeze rustling the weeping willows beside the pond and the birds chirping in the willows. The pale, calm blue of the pond had helped me fall asleep a number of times. It was a wonderful place to cool off and swim, too. Bob however, instead of getting excited–as he had on multiple occasions at any mention of the pond–jumped away from me, guilt written on his face. "I can't, I...I..." "Bob? Are you alright?" I asked, concerned. "Of course. I just can't come to the pond today," he responded, his composure regained. "I...uh...I have other plans. I'm sorry." "Oh. Alright then. It's okay." He smiled at me, and I smiled back, although it was a little forced. Then, he turned around and disappeared into the bustle of the market. As I watched him walk away, my smile faded. What was wrong with him? Or is it me? He always hung out with me, even if he had previous arrangements. This continued for days; I would want to do something together, but Bob would have other engagements. Soon, we were doing nothing. I quickly grew suspicious. What could he possibly be doing? Eventually, I decided to follow him to his 'other engagements'. It was a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Guilt Is A Raw Instinctive Emotion Of Human Nature Surname 1 Name: Tutor: Course: Date Guilt Introduction Guilt is a raw instinctive emotion of the human nature. Is there a general way through human beings and all other forms of life would be distinguished from one another. Both humans and other forms of life on earth have the element of life, the element of survival. Through feeding and excretion they are both similar. In almost every aspect of life for both human and other forms of life, they are identical to each other. If for example, both did not feed, their fate would be equally the same. Through the theory of evolution of man, it is argued that he evolved from the most basic form of life and over the years evolved in what he is today, a prime being, at the top of the list. But what differentiates the two apart. Intellectuality and the ability to use reason is the very fundamental difference between human beings and other forms of life. Having intellect means the ability to use reason to make decisions and choices. There however, is a difference between choices. Choices could either be voluntary or involuntary. Actions that are made through involuntary choices could be termed as the raw instincts elements of man, some of which could probably be compared to those of animals and other living organisms. On the other hand, there are actions that are based on voluntary choices, actions that an individual knows their consequence but goes on to do them. Take for example, a little child not more than 5 years, meaning that his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The 4 months after gay marriage was legalized, there are still protests going on that it should be wrong and illegal. There are plenty of facts to show that both sides could be right or wrong. Gay marriage is wrong. The bible says that," man may not lay with mankind, neither woman with womankind". The bible quote means that a man and man shall not be together nor a woman and a woman, and the importance of this quote from the bible is that if man was with man and woman was with woman, none of us would be here right now. Christianity is not the only religion that says that gay marriage is wrong. There are over 15 different religions that think gay marriage is wrong. Muslims and Buddhists are two examples of these religions. Gay marriage is wrong and should be illegal because there are plenty of facts and reasoning behind it. • 13. Good Man Gone Wrong, By Fred Boalt: An Analysis The relationship between the United States and Pancho Villa played a major role in the history of Mexico. Both parties were involved in the Mexican Revolution, which lasted from 1910–1920, and the relationship they had with one another significantly altered the course of the revolution. On March 13, 1916, Fred Boalt wrote an article for the Tacoma Times newspaper, entitled Good Man Gone Wrong, describing some details of the Mexican revolutionary Pancho Villa and the relationship he had with theUnited States. Boalt argues that the shift of relationship between the United States and Villa ultimately led to Villa becoming a "Good Man Gone Wrong." In a sense, Boalt tries to give a sympathetic view of Villa, by attributing his change in attitude to the United States severing ties with him. The author of the article is writing from an American point of view, so national biases can be a factor in his analysis of the US–Villa relationship. There are many parts to the Christian Worldview, but the seven main parts are; what God is like, the nature of the universe, the nature of man, ethics and morality, the cause of evil and suffering, what happens to man after death, and the meaning of history. The Biblical Worldview of a Christian is important because it helps us develop our faith in God and become closer to him. Everyone should have the Biblical Worldview of a Christian. What is God Like? God has power to stop evil, but it is because of His everlasting patience and grace towards us that He allows our sins to continue. God did not want to end sin yet, because He did not want to lose anyone. A 2 Peter 3:9 puts it, "The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance." What happens to man at death? What happens to believers and unbelievers at death is very different. For believers, death is not a punishment. After a Christian dies, the soul of that person goes into God's presence, where they wait until Jesus' second coming to go to heaven. In Heaven, there is no suffering, death, and grief. In heaven, the believers worship and praise God forever, and also partake in meaningful work. After an unbeliever dies, their soul goes to hell. When Jesus returns, they experience the second death, which is eternal torment. Hell is a place of fire and burning, where unbelievers go through weeping and gnashing of teeth. What is the meaning of

  • 17. The Guilt Of Murder In Edgar Allen Poe's Tell-Tale Heart When people commit murder, they try to justify their actions with logical reasons for doing so. However, if the reasons are not valid, they try to convince themselves that they are. The short story "Tell–Tale Heart" by Edgar Allen Poe describes the actions of an unknown narrator who cunningly murders an elderly man at midnight because of his vulture eye. The narrator recounts the confidence in his finesse of the concealment of the body until he hears the first unperceived thumping of the dead man's heart, driving him to confess to the police. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One might object here that the narrator lacked the mental capacity to distinguish right from wrong. The claim of mental insanity could be supported by the narrator's abnormal hearing of the dead old man's heart thumping. "...but the noise arose over all and continually increased. It grew–louder–louder–louder!" (Poe). It is correct that normal people do not hear dead people's hearts beating, however, what he likely heard was the sound of his own heart ringing loudly in his ears due to his guilty conscience. The various instances where the narrator described how afraid he felt when staring at the man's vulture eye specifies that he indeed did have a motive to kill the old man. In the beginning, he stated that he cared for the old man, but his eye that resembled a vulture frightened him. "...his blood ran cold" (Poe). His obvious discomfort and contempt when looking at the eye irked him so much that he killed the elderly man to purge the mere thought of the evil eye from his mind. To add on, every night for eight nights, he would sneak into the old man's room to wait for the quintessential time to commit the final deed of killing him. However, the narrator had to wait several days to strike because as the old man was sleeping, his eye was not open and his eye was the true object that vexed him. In "Tell–Tale Heart," Edgar Allan Poe illustrates that the narrator has an acute need of the old man's vulture eye and eventually murders the man on the eighth night. The author highlights the events of the murder and soon, the narrator confesses to the police of his guilt. As Edgar Allan Poe fabricates this short story, he enthralls the readers by giving the events specific detail. If the narrator was criminally insane, he wouldn't be deceptively kind to the man everyday before the night of the murder. Also, some characteristics of criminally insane is that you would lack the mental capacity, would not know the difference between right and wrong, and finally you wouldn't be able to control your actions. If the narrator ever lacked the mental capacity, he wouldn't be able to plan out what he was going to do. From the perspective of the premeditated murder side, he planned out what he was going to do. For example, if he was criminally insane, he would not be deceptively kind to the old man, he would just not talk to him for the rest of the week and eventually the old man would suspect something. The second reason why he is guilty of premeditated murder is that he had a motive. A motive to assassinate the old man. In the short story, the author clearly states that he had a motive to kill the old man. Such as, "It is impossible to say how first the idea entered my brain; but, once conceived, it haunted me day and night." The narrator clearly said that at first, he had the idea to do the deed. • 21. The Trolley Case : An Ethical Thought Experiment Tess Martin PHI 2630–009 (Fall 2017) October 17, 2017 985 Words Consequentialism The Trolley Case is an ethical thought experiment that seeks to find the "right" solution in killing people. This thought experiment explains that there is a train coming down the tracks on course to run right into five people. You stand next to a lever which can switch the tracks so that only one person will die. The only options you have are to do nothing and allow five people to die, or pull the lever so that only one person will die. In Trolley Case 2, you can save five people from the train by pushing a large man off of a bridge, and into the path of the train. This man would be large enough to stop the train, thus saving the other five people's lives.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A Utilitarian might agree with the consequentialist. Utilitarianism is a form of consequentialism which requires an action to, "Maximize welfare where the welfare of all individuals who will be affected by some action counts," (Timmons, 7). An action is "right" or "wrong" based on whether or not it makes people happy or if it positively impacts their welfare. In the Trolley Cases, more people will end up alive if the train is diverted; this creates a situation that maximizes the welfare of people. A Utilitarian would surely divert the train, or push the man off the bridge, to ensure their actions create the maximum amount of happiness in society. There would be more suffering from the victims and their family members if five people died compared to that if just one person died. According to consequentialism, there is an inconsistency if one is to divert the train and not push the man off of the bridge. One simply cannot be willing to sacrifice one life and not another. To pull the lever in Trolley Case 1 and sacrifice one person instead of five is essentially the same thing as pushing the man off of the bridge in Trolley Case 2. • 22. Social Reality And Its Effect On Self Image The idea that humans internalize their cultures' social norms to a degree at which these norms affect their self–image is a long debated argument among many social sciences. From psychology to history, the idea of socialization has sprung a diverse variety of theories, all proclaiming that their theory is the answer. All of these social theories provoke questions about social reality. Social reality is a complex evaluation of what is considered biological reality and what is considered individual cognitive reality. These realities are created by social interaction thus influencing individual motives and actions, so how can one theory answer it all. Dennis H. Wrong (1961), an American sociologist and professor ofsociology at New York University, suggests that much like the question of social reality the answer is complex thus no single theory can correctly affiliate with all the problems surrounding social reality. Wrong's (1961) reflection on the one–sided answer of social reality is argued in his work published by the American Sociological Review, titled The Over socialization Conception of Man in Modern Sociology. Wrong states "Sociological theory originates in the asking of general questions about man and society. The answers lose their meaning if they are elaborated without reference to the question, as has been the case" (Wrong 1961:183) Wrong later supports his claim by critiquing two of the leading theories on socialization, the Freudian view of man and the Hobbesian ... Have you ever bought something because a friend or because everyone else has that thing? In To Kill a Mockingbird: The Screenplay written by Horton Foote, Atticus Finch defends Tom Robinson an alleged rapist who was an African American during theGreat Depression. Everyone told Atticus what he was doing was wrong, defending a black man during The Great Depression. Tom Robinson was an innocent man in the Great Depression who's only case against him was that he was black and was seen near the scene at the time when Mrs. Mayella was beaten. He was being unfairly tried and represented in the court just because he was an African American during an extremely racist time in the South. Atticus saw it different than everyone else, he was the only one willing to believe Tom Robinson when everyone else was saying he was wrong because he was a black man. Sometimes doing the right thing happens when everyone else is telling you are wrong. Atticus Finch Believed in Tom Robinson when no one else did. Do what is right when everyone is telling you are wrong. When Atticus is defending people, he will do whatever it takes to help that person out even if they can't afford his services. When Mr.Cunningham was needing Atticus's services and couldn't afford them, Atticus came up with a way that would help him. • 28. Analysis Of Edgar Allan Poe's Tell Tale Heart In the depths of the night, a loud shriek comes from a man who would later be assassinated and hidden under the floorboards of his own chamber. In Edgar Allan Poe's Tell Tale Heart, the story of this murder is told from the point of view of the killer. The narrator tells of the man's vulture –like eye, which causes him to murder the man to rid himself forever of the villainy the eye possessed. After the murder, the narrator is haunted by the sound of the man's beating heart to the point that he has to admit to his felony. In this ghastly tale, the narrator is guilty of premeditated murder because he had a reason to kill the man, knew right from wrong throughout the story, and had a plan to kill the old man in advance. To start, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In addition to the fact that the narrator understood that murdering someone is wrong, the narrator has a motive for killing the old man. Right off the bat, the narrator tells the reader why he wanted to kill the old man. He says, "I think it was his eye! yes, it was this! One of his eyes resembled that of a vulture–a pale blue eye, with a film over it. Whenever it fell upon me, my blood ran cold; and so by degrees–very gradually–I made up my mind to take the life of the old man, and thus rid myself of the eye for ever." This indicates that he had a clear rationale for killing the old man and is guilty of first degree, or premeditated murder. Some may argue that the narrator is mentally insane and killed the man because over an irrational fear caused by his mental illness. However, an insane person would not wait to terminate a powerful feeling of paranoia and to assassinate the person causing such fear. The idea that the narrator was patient enough to wait to kill the old man gives a final indication. As well as having a specific desire to assassinate the elderly man, the narrator had a plan to go about his killing. This is exhibited when the narrator says, "I was never kinder to the old man than during the whole week before I killed him." This is the first indication that he ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 29. Theoretical Problems Of Ethics And Ethics Theoretical Problems of Ethics Introduction Ethics is the conception about the "right" and "wrong". It is related to the man and the society. It supports the concept of doing good things and disgraces the thinking of behaving in the wrong way with others. It is the well–known fact that the ethics don't implement on the logics in doing right or wrong. Along with sometimes it can stand against the morality. For example the death sentence is ethically wrong, because it takes the life of a man, which can become the better part of society in future. So, ethically the death sentence should be stopped. But, the morally death sentence creates fear among the people and they get the lesson for the future that who will be done wrong with others will face the death at the end. Along with this, ethics has some theoretical problems. These problems are related to different aspects of ethics which are not justified on the basis of philosophy. Most of the times these problems create confusion in the minds of human beings to identify what is right and what is wrong in certain situations. Three theoretical problems of ethics Mainly ethics have three theoretical problems. First one is the problem of the origins of ethics which means it is a problem creating for the people to find out that what is right and what is wrong. The Second one is the problem of relativism which holds the question that what is the relationship of ethics with the society (Mizzoni, 2009). The third one is the problem ... • 30. The Only Crime Is Pride Critical Lens Reflection Essay The quote "Think: all men make mistakes, But a good man yields when he Knows his course is wrong, And repairs the evil: The only Crime is pride," said by Teiresias. (This excerpt is from Antigone, by the classical Greek playwright Sophocles.) This quote can mean several different things. It all depends on how you interpret it. I believe that Teiresias is explaining that a good man knows how to admit when he is wrong and tries to fix the problem that his mistake has caused. "The only crime is pride." Teiresias is demonstrating the negative side of a man and what "bad guys" do instead. There is no crime in being wrong, however, when someone's pride is blinding them from admitting their wrongs , then that is when someone... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We are going to mess up. We were created to make mistakes so that way we could learn from them. It is our job to fix our miscalculations. Letting your pride keep you from telling the truth will result in a worse outcome than the original predicament. Teiresias makes it clear that it is alright to make mistakes, but trying to cover the mistakes up is not the right thing to do. Think about it, every time you choose to tell a lie you have to tell 1,000 more just to cover up the first lie. Wouldn't it just me easier to tell the truth? It takes a good man to confess his wrongs, those who can not always find themselves in bad predicaments all the time. Telling the truth is always the way to go. I use to have the hardest time confessing the things that I do incorrectly. It was hard for me to accept that I could mess up, but when I got older I started playing sports. Playing basketball and soccer you have to confess to the things you did/do wrong or otherwise you will not be able to improve as a player. Gay Marriage is an ethical issue that has been debated for years. This is an issue that I think that will continue to be debated as a clear answer as to why it is morally wrong has yet to be determined. For so long a deontological view has been applied to the subject. Those who are opposed to same sex marriage take on this view. On the other hand when taking on a relativism perspective on can argue that children that are raised in same sex parent households are no different from those raised in a traditional household. Same sex marriage has not only been argued by those who oppose as only being a union between man and woman. Those opposed can also argue that marriage is not between two people (a man and woman) but of those not related. This brings in the argument of the what deontologists would support " The Slippery Slope" argument, which argues that allowing same sex marriage will only lead us down a slope that welcomes incest and polygamy. Those who support this also feel that if gay marriage is allowed that it would threaten the institution of marriage. I disagree with this argument. I feel that now days a person is going to do what they want. As long as there are two consenting adults then gay marriage should be allowed. Same sex couples want to be married for the same reasons as heterosexual couple. I do not feel that allowing gay marriage says hey you can now marry your brother or sister etc. Although it's not talked about a lot there are a lot of people who practice polygamy. • 34. Antigone By Sophocles: Poem Analysis The moral compass of planet Earth intends to point north at all times. This isn't always the case. People make mistakes, and others immediately judge their decision. Are they right, or are they wrong? If they are right, then perfect –– no harm done. If they are wrong feelings of guilt and shame may overcome. It is at this moment in time where the wrongdoer needs to make a decision in accordance to their actions. In an excerpt from Antigone, by the classic Greek playwright Sophocles, the wise Teiresias observes, "Think: all men make mistakes, But a good man yields when he Knows his course is wrong, And repairs the evil: The only Crime is pride." And repairs the evil" Instead of worrying over being perfect, there is a much easier title to strive for: 'a good man'. In this line of the poem, the definition of a good man is someone who recognizes the wrong. For example, if a person in a court case knows for a fact that they committed a crime, they must accept their fate. All other judgement become irrelevant. By definition, accepting the faults makes a better person than those who lie about them. "The only Crime is pride." At school, work, or even now at home with the help of social media, reputation is a big deal. Reputations illustrate who we are as a whole. It is the job of the repute to not let any of that success, or maybe failure, get to their head. A true deed means well when it goes unnoticed. From this poem, today's world can learn a lot about the functioning a compass. How Morals Were Shaped Through The Creation Stories How morals were shaped through the creation stories in the book of Genesis "The first principle of value that we need to rediscover is this: that all reality hinges on moral foundations. In other words, that this is a moral universe, and that there are moral laws of the universe just abiding as the physical laws" (Martin Luther King Jr.). Everyone around the world, regardless of gender, race, religion, and political views are defined by their own moral compass. However, this creation story raises multiple questions regarding Huynh 2 morality in today 's contemporary beliefs. Before, people may blindly take it that God is always right and that we should obey Him because we will be severely punished if we disobey. Now, people in general have become more open minded and analytical with what they read. For instance, the story depicts that the reason why Adam and Eve were punished because they ate the fruit that gave them knowledge of right and wrong. However, Adam and Eve did not know the difference between right and wrong before eating the fruit. For example, after eating the fruit, Adam and Eve knew it was wrong for them to be naked and tried to cover themselves. So was it right for God to punish Adam and Eve when they did not know that it was right or wrong to disobey Him? Is it moral to punish those who do not understand what is right and wrong, much less differentiate the two? In fact, the first story in Genesis shows how destructive God can be to those who do not obey His commands which raises questions about morality to the reader. Depending on the reader 's interpretation, the story influences their moral compass. Several interpretations could be: "It is morally wrong to disobey God and to disobey God means we will face dire consequences" or "It is morally wrong to disobey God, but was it unjust for God to punish those who are ignorant of what is ... It is a tough debate based on whether you are a religious person, how you were raised, and where your morals and ethics stand. You cannot truly believe one way without taking into account the other side and have valid proof to back it up. According to the Bible, you are this image until you sin, and homosexuality is considered a sin, and therefore homosexuality is wrong because God did not create man for man, but for woman and the purpose of procreation. Any other type of relation is wrong in the eye of God. On the other hand, the Bible also states: I John 4:7–11, "Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God, and everyone that loveth is born of God and knoweth God. He that loveth not, knoweth not God, for God is love." The bible tells us that a man cannot serve two masters, for either he will love the one and hate the other. If this is true, you cannot follow God and hate another. If so, you to are a sinner. According to the Bible, God totally hates the sin of homosexuality, but God does not hate you. Theodor, who was ambivalent about what the Moral Sense was, became upset at the way Satan speaks of it. Theodor feels offended at first, but then Satan's charisma and tricks gives Theodore mixed feelings. He explains that Man alone is "kind–hearted and shrink from inflicting pain, but in the presence of the aggressive and pitiless minority they don't dare to assert themselves." He says that we go to war for no apparent reason and "it is unjust and dishonorable, as there is no necessity for it", but Moral Sense drives us to it. Why Is It Morally Permissible To Turn The Runaway Trolley To begin with, the Trolley case is an experiment where you are put into a situation where you are on a runaway trolley where the breaks do not work and you are headed for five people and you can either hit the five people, killing them or save them by turning the trolley hitting one person and killing him. There is another scenario called the Footbridge case where you are in the same situation but in order to save the five people you have to push a fat man off a bridge stopping the trolley. This is very interesting experiment that questions human ethics and morality. It makes you think whether or not it is morally permissible to turn the trolley.
