Josh Perry
was guest performer in class this week. Josh performed
“Air-Guitar” with rock music
playback. Then on Youtube we saw Josh’s performance of composer
Stuart Saunders Smith's "Songs I-IX"
(1982) for percussionist-actor using small percussion instruments and various household items from kitchen. In addition to acting, the percussionist also recites text and vocalizes.
In our class, Josh Perry also discussed performing, acting, different audiences and venues for rock music and contemporary concert music including those below and mentioned his performance
group
Iktus Percussion
and the upcoming
May 9, 2015
