Reflect on the five areas of focus that make up the collaboration commitment for many NEU schools. How has/may your viewpoint of collaboration change after reading these commitments?
The collaboration commitment for many NEU schools has five areas of focus that make up the collaboration commitment and their are: Clarity of Purpose, Respectful of time, Time Banking, Professional Growth, and Building Candid Professional Relationships: (Lopez, D., 2013). My viewpoint has of collaboration has change after reading these commitment, the job that I have teacher staff try to work together as a team but not always sometime I work alone and get the work done. I want to try to work with my teacher team because working to together as a team the work is done in timely manners.
What ideas do you have for implementing these in your own professional setting? How would it benefit your team to establish similar commitment.
In my own professional setting as a food serve worker, I plan to take levels one: supporting, giving my team more support when ask, Level two: Accountability, offered my support to my team. In doing this will me become a leader for me.
The author uses the example of why Geese fly in the "V" pattern that they so often do. Are you flying in the V? What is that holds you, Your team, and your school back from creating an exceptional system for collaboration?
I will use the example of my Head start program. In our school we have a site supervisors as well as a lead teacher in every classroom, I do believe that we are "V" pattern we fly to keep our kids going and we keep them busy at all time. I believe what my school back from creating an exceptional system for collaboration is the agency lack of communication and not enough training for new staff that come in to the program.
What are your strengths as a team member; what are your weakness?
My strengths is been a team player. I enjoying working with kids and teacher staff and others worker because help me learn from other how to better leader. my weakness is not communication on a daily basic.

Reflect on the five areas of focus that make up the collaboration
commitment for many NEU schools. How has/may your
viewpoint of collaboration change after reading these
commitments?
As a person and an educator, I️ was always one to work alone
on any assignments that I️ had. Somewhat like Julie in chapter
6. I️ see how that I️t is necessary to open the door for
communication. I️ am willing to my colleague offer their
support. Some things are just not meant to be done alone.
4. What ideas do you have for implementing these in your own
professional setting? How would it benefit your team to
establish similar commitments?
In order for me to grow an educator, I️ plan to take on the 4
levels of Candid Collaboration. In doing so this creates
leadership for me, working together with my colleaguesI️t
would benefit my team to where will grow together and get
things fast and sufficient.
The author uses the example of why Geese fly in the “V”
pattern that they so often do. Are you flying in the V? What is
it that holds you, your team, and your school back from creating
an exceptional system for collaboration?
In my pace of employment, I️ never really flew in the V, I️
was always one to go on alone and takes things into my hands.
Some areas are not really needed for collaboration. Each of us
knew how to do our specific job. However, in certain situations,
if need be, there are times where we did reach out to one
another. For example A show, or Performance.
What are your strengths as a team member; what are your
weaknesses?
My strengths as a team member are patience, I️ have a lot of
patience. Working with children that’s one element that you
MUST develop without a doubt. I️t is very beneficial to have
that in the school setting. I️t prefers everything to smooth and
in order.
My weakness has always been trying to explain certain
concepts. It may a little difficult to dish it out. I am one who
needs time to explain what I am trying say. if I don't then that
can lead to unstructured, unorganized explanation. it can go
Vice versa as well, people explain things in their comfort, but it
5. may not very clear to me. These are one weakness that I am
working on at this very moment.

No Excuses University-- Collaboration
Reflect on the five areas of focus that make up the collaboration
commitment for many NEU schools. How has/may your
viewpoint of collaboration changed after reading these
commitments?
Collaboration is one of the principles in NEU schools and is
vital to every one of us. This can be matched to the saying “no
man is an island” which means that a person cannot achieve
their full potential without the input of others. The
commitments have served as a source of enlightenment since
working as a team alone is not important rather working as a
team with defined objectives. The team needs to understand the
purpose for which the work is being done. Collaboration also
proves fruitful when the team members show time management
skills in their undertakings with the team (Hess, & Robbins,
2012). They should be able to complete tasks on time. The five
areas allow me to understand that collaboration becomes fruitful
when the members can maintain respectful relationships with
each other creating an environment of support that will, in turn,
lead to positive growth in the team. Members of the team should
also be focused on professional development taking time to
learn new things (Robin, & Burchell, 2013).
What ideas do you have for implementing these in your own
6. professional setting? How would it benefit your team to
establish similar commitments?
The first step would be to hold team meetings with the agenda
of knowing one another. This will enable the members to openly
communicate and therefore understand the strengths and
weaknesses of the other members(Robin, & Burchell, 2013).
Once this has been established, we can easily capitalize on
individual strengths hence strengthening the whole team as a
whole (Hess, & Robbins, 2012). The team should set up goals,
both short-term, and long-term, which can be used as a basis for
evaluating the progress that is being made.
The author uses the example of why Geese fly in the “V”
pattern that they so often do. Are you flying in the V? What is
it that holds you, your team, and your school back from creating
an exceptional system for collaboration?
The challenge that we mostly face is the fact that different
members have different goals and priorities when it comes to
the work of the team. While some might be ready to work,
others might be unconcerned by the task at hand. This causes
work to proceed slowly, and very little progress can be made.
What are your strengths as a team member; what are your
weaknesses?
As a team member, I would consider my flexibility and ability
to switch between tasks quickly as my strength. It comes with
the willingness and readiness to work and learn new things.
However, I am unable to express the necessary leadership skills
required from a team leader. It means that I cannot bring
together people to work together resulting from the fear that
people’s feelings might be hurt as a result of my decisions.
