3. Jesus and His followers got in a boat on this sea. The sea was calm. Jesus had taught for a long
time. He had healed people for a long time. He needed to rest. The sea could be dangerous, but
Jesus had perfect peace. He was calm. And Jesus slept.
4. A terrible storm happened very quickly. The wind blew. The waves came up over and into the
boat. Jesus’ followers were afraid. This was a very dangerous storm. But Jesus continued to
sleep, and He did not wake up.
5.
6. Jesus asked His followers why they were afraid with so little faith. Then He stood up and spoke
to the storm. Jesus spoke loudly and said, “Be quiet! Be still” (Mark 4:39). Jesus spoke to the
wind and the waves. And the wind and waves obeyed Him. The sea became calm.
