1. A Christian View Of The Bible
I believe in a Liberal– Evangelical view in terms of the authority of scripture. I am Evangelical in
that I believe that the bible is infallible in all that is trying to affirm, and that the central narrative
can be relatable, and inspiring to every person, and every people group around the world. This is
because the Holy Spirit is involved in this process from both the compositional, and readability
aspect. I am liberal in that I cannot affirm that the bible is the only written work of God. I can only
affirm that is the only fully infallible written scriptural work. The issues of psuedonymity, the
Synoptic Problem, Genesis 1–11, and the rewritten Bible have all been noticed as problematic areas
for one's hermeneutic. This paper will largely be a presentation of my hermeneutical implications
through these issues.
I do not believe the issue of psuedonymity to be a problematic area for what I believe in terms of the
inspiration of scripture. The authors of these epistles can still be inspired even though they may not
be apostles. They may have learned under an apostle, and may therefore be able to write using their
name because they can respond in a way that the apostle himself would. Also, by writing as apostles,
the credibility of these authors instantly becomes more authoritative to the first century audience.
Lastly, these books went through the intensive canonization process that all of the new testament
books went through, which is further proof of their inspiration.

The Christian Bible, the Hebrew Scripture, The Muslim Koran: Words are Not Important, Our
Actions Are
Matt 13:3 "He told them many things in parables.
13:10 "Why do you talk to them in parables?"
That's the crucial question: Did God, should God, have intended direct and final communication
with us? If so, Jesus certainly failed his mission. There is little evidence that Jesus' appearance
cleared anything up or gave us God directly. Wittgenstein, who wanted our language to be clear,
knows well enough that neither the Hebrew nor the Christian God's words could fall within his
constructed linguistic net. They would always come from outside, from "the mystical." Thus, where
our clarified language is concerned, "never the twain shall ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Heaven obviously contains no single, authorized publishing house. And what is now printed in many
instances existed first in oral tradition, that notoriously changeable and often obscure medium. Some
divine czar of communication should have allowed into written form only the authorized versions,
with clear Wittgensteinian definition of all terms. Any authoritarian dictator, bent on preventing
discord, could have done a better job, if put in charge of the divinities' printing house. Thus, as the
source of a clear, single, religious creed, all sacred texts are failures. They were too loosely
compiled.
Our divinities either need a course in exposition and writing or they never intended to offer us a
clear text in the first place. In God's name, why not? For Heaven's sake, didn't they realize what
confusion would result from their laxity? Wasn't it Nietzsche who remarked: Isn't it strange that,
when God decided to turn author, he should have learned to speak Greek? We have the biblical story
of the Tower of Babel, which explains how we came to have so many obscure and divergent
languages. But surely the heavenly U.N. Security Council could have elected to authorize, and to
allow us to speak, only one language, putting all the rest of our vague tongues to shame.

13. The Relationship Of Jesus And Christian Mentoring In The...
Mentor is characterized as a wise and trusted advocate or instructor. Although tutoring/mentoring is
not in the Bible, it gives us various cases of coaching. Moses was a great example of a mentoring
relationship. The mentoring relationship among Eli and Samuel allowed Samuel to take on tasks and
obligations that were his after Eli's demise. Jesus mentor His disciples, while Barnabas and Paul
exceeded expectations in mentoring. Jesus made His style of mentoring clear. He led so we may
follow. He stated if anybody will come after him, let them take up his cross and follow him. Since
He is our leader and we are to follow Him, Christian mentoring is a procedure subordinate upon
accommodation to Christ. Neither the mentor or mentee controls the relationship. The way toward
mentoring is portrayed by sharing, trust, and enrichment as the life and work of the two members is
changed. The mentor fills in as a model and a confided in audience. The guide depends on the Holy
Spirit to give understanding, change lives, and educate through demonstration.
Jesus and the apostles, as well as elders in the church do their work by mentoring. Peter states to be
the example of the flock, and Paul discloses to the elders at Ephesus. Paul demonstrates to the
elders, so that they may show others. If a Christian leader is not mentoring to that degree, he or she
is not satisfying their calling. God has filled the group of Christ with potential mentors other than
the individuals who are elders.

17. The Bible As Tool For Guide Them Throughout Their...
In the Seventh–day Adventist church uses the Bible as tool to guide them throughout their Christian
lives. The Bible teaches beliefs that the Christian are expected to follow and apply to their lives.
Along with following these beliefs, Christians are expected to teach these beliefs as well, so that
future generations may carry them out and be a positive example of the church. One the beliefs is
the trinity. In Ephesians 4:4–6 it is written that "There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were
called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism: one God and Father of
all, who is over all and through all and in all". There is one God, who in Himself is the Father, Son,
and Holy Spirit; the unity of the three; "Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one"
(Deuteronomy 6:4). The trinity is God, who is immortal, all knowing, and above all. God is all
powerful, love, worth of our worship, ever present, and who created everything. In 2 Corinthians
13:14 "May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy
Spirit be with you all", explaining that the trinity, who carries multiple characteristics, is with us to
guide us. Another belief is the creation. In Isaiah 45: 18 it is written that "For this is what the Lord
says– he who created the heaves, he is God; he would fashion and made the earth; he who fashioned
and made the earth, he founded it; he did not create it to be empty, but formed it to be inhabited–

21. A Christian Worldview On The World Through The Lens Of The...
A Christian worldview would encompass the framework that we must view the world through the
lens of the Bible. Human Nature: I have not given much thought as to identifying my Christian
worldview on paper, and rarely have I given it much thought. To be a born again is to believe the
Gospel of Jesus Christ one must take a stand for the fundamental principles of the Gospel. Those
principles include belief in God as the creator of the universe and all that are on the earth and Jesus
Christ as the Son of God who came to save the world from sin and redeem us back to God. The
absolute truth that Jesus Christ was born of a virgin, lived, died on the cross for all mankind for the
sins both seen and unseen, and rose from the grave on the third day, who has now has ascended to
heaven. He will return to take us back to the place that he has prepared for the bride to come and
live with him in eternity. God the Father is the Absolute, Sovereign, eternal God who has no
beginning and no end, who moves in and out of time to have interaction at his will with the children
of men. The scripture is viewed as the infallible Word of God and they were written by men of old
who were inspired by God. Therefore, the Christian worldview that I ascribe to are the ones that I
have previously noted. Now there are those who would question or disagree with my next principle,
however, I feel that a Christian should possess this nature as well. The Bible tells us in Acts 2: how
the called were in the upper

25. Angels In The Christian Bible
ngels are known to be messengers of God, often depicted to be winged creatures. These supernatural
beings are believed widely in many religions, including Christianity, Judaism, Islam, and even
Hinduism. Angels are mystical beings that serve as a link or an intermediary between man and his
Supreme Creator. In the Christian Bible, they are known to be the attendants to God's throne, God's
messenger to his people, and personal guardians to each and every person. While there are also evil
angels or fallen angels, the divine angels are the ones that people can look up to for guidance and
help.
It is possible to ask help from guardian angels as it is believed that every one has them. In Hebrews
for example, angels are referred to as ministering spirits who are sent to provide guidance to the
world, for the sake of salvation. Angels are known to communicate to mere mortals in many ways.
They can work through the intuition; but one of the most common means in communicating is
through dreams. In the Bible for example, people and prophets were often depicted to be conversing
with angels through dreams. Often they would receive messages, warnings or good tidings from
these mystical creatures whether through dreams or through apparitions. ... Show more content on

Teachings of the Bible and the Christian Church About Human Responsibility for the World
The Bible contains many teachings about our human responsibility towards the created world. It
talks about the start of creation in Genesis. Here it is made clear that human beings are made in the
image of God so that they can continue his good work. At the outset they are given power over the
rest of creation and now if all humans work together to make the world a better place they will be
more powerful so it will happen, but even if just a few people are not willing to help then all will fall
apart (see poster).
The other implication here is that the power comes with responsibility. The role of human beings ...

Unfortunately, the people most affected are those who are poorer. The greed and pollution of people
in the Northern Hemisphere is having a serious impact on global warming and the worst effects f
this are experienced not by us in the Northern Hemisphere but by those in the Southern Hemisphere.
These people, already living in great poverty, then suffer even greater problems in terms of severe
droughts, famines, flooding etc., which leaves them even poorer. The Bible makes it quite clear that
in terms of looking after the world, we have a duty not only to look after the environment but also to
look after our fellow human beings. Hence the most important teaching, "Love thy neighbour as
yourself". Jesus made it quite clear in the story he told about the Good Samaritan that our neighbour
is anyone and everyone who is in need, even our enemy, irrespective of their race/colour/religion.
Another important teaching, called one body many parts, makes it clear that human beings
physically make up the body of God here on Earth. We are therefore his hands; his feet etc and
therefore we should do what he would do himself if he were physically present. What we should do
is look after our neighbour. Furthermore, if just some of us, (one tiny bit of the body) does not do
what it is supposed to do then everyone else will be weakened. We must work together in

33. A Christian Home : The Bible Stories, But Not The God Of...
I was raised in a Christian home, and all I ever knew growing up was Church. I am thankful that
God kept me from a lot of stuff that kids my age fell into. That being said, I was still in need of a
Savior. Growing up in Church I knew about Christ, but didn't know Him. I knew the Bible stories,
but not the God of those amazing accounts. I was at a youth New Year's Eve lock–in at my home
Church, and we were having fun playing games and eating. The youth leader called us all together to
"pray in the New Year". It was at that time that God really dealt with my heart. Sure, I had "given
my heart to Christ" at a very young age, but that night it was different. I prayed, confessed my
sinfulness, and asked Christ to forgive me. Close to midnight, December 31, 1988, Christ came into
my heart, and I have been following Him ever since. It was during that time that God began to
reveal to me, that although I never did the "big" sins of others, I had the elements of those sins in my
heart. It was only by His grace that they did not come together to produce such an evil harvest. He
began to show me that I was just like the Pharisees that, when seeing the Messiah they had been
praying for, did not recognize Him because of their self–righteousness. I am thankful to God for my
testimony, and for His saving Grace.

37. Christianity In Today's Christian Bible
Finally, Christianity is the most prominent religion practiced throughout the world with over 2
billion followers. Christianity is based upon the teachings of the said son of God Jesus of Nazareth
and his disciples. It is originally taught in Aramaic and later Greek, and its teachings can be found in
the modern Christian Bible. Today's Christian Bible is divided in two parts, the Old Testament,
written accounts and teachings before the birth of Jesus, which is what Judaism uses, and then the
New Testament, which are stories and teachings that involve Jesus and his disciples. The Christian
faith establishes a Holy Trinity, where God is embodied in three different aspects, God himself, in
his son Jesus and finally in the Holy Spirit. This core

41. Canon Shape & Structure in Jewish and Christian Bibles
Judaism and Christianity are derived from different times and places in the world. They share a
lengthy past and many of the same books. However, these communities are divergent in their
beliefs. The fundamental differences lie within the literary composition of each theology's sacred
texts. The shape and structure of the Jewish and Christian canons are arranged to substantiate each
community's religious beliefs.
Jews and Christians arranged their canons differently to obtain a specific outcome in relation to their
fundamental beliefs. First off, the Jews arranged their books in the Hebrew Bible to reflect their
covenantal relationship with God. The 24 books are organized by genre of scripture and tell the
history of God's relationship ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These passages from the Book of Malachi emphasize the people's disobedience towards God and
desperate need for redemption, or as the Christian community would interpret it, a savior. For Jews,
this is a call to action and to return to God from devious ways. The Book of Malachi's place in the
middle of the Hebrew Bible reflects its significance as a moral lesson and warning. In the Christian
Bible, having this book placed last and the Gospels following it, there is a fulfillment of the
prophecies. For Christian communities, continuity is established through the prophecies of Jesus
Christ.
"In almost every case, the location of a biblical book relative to other canonical books, whether in
terms of the grouping in which it is placed, or the book(s) that follow or precede it, has
hermeneutical significance for the reader who seeks meaning in the text" (Goswell, 688). For
Christians and Jews, their understanding of scriptures purpose is derived from religious texts. The
textual arrangement portrays and supports an entirely different meaning to each community. For the
Jewish community, the canons reveal their belief in God and their role with the divine entity. The
books of the Hebrew Bible take particular significance with the Jewish community in

45. Christian Bible Research Paper
The Christian Bible, in all of its glory and mystery, is the book with the most translations than any
other book ever written. Translated into nearly 400 different languages and has well over 100
different versions within the English language alone, it's hard to think of another book so widely
known. But why is it so controversial? Many people do not truly believe the words that live between
these pages. However, according to the world clock, there are currently around 2.3 billion Christians
today out of the nearly 7.5 billion people roaming the earth. When calculated, this comes to about
31% of the planet self identifying as Christ followers. That's quite a lot of people, and though we are
currently the largest religion, we are slowly shrinking in size and Islam, currently at 23% of the
population, is slowly growing in numbers.
Christianity is considered monotheistic. Monotheism, in short, is the belief that there is one supreme
being who is sovereign over all other beings. In Christianity and Judaism our Abba Father, Yahweh
is the one true God. Another way to say this is through grammar. In monotheism we capitalize the
"G" in God. However in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

16 All Scripture is God–breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in

This is significant because it tells us what to do with the Bible and how important of a tool it really
is. We are called to use the word to instruct others in the way of living a fulfilling life and to lead
people to do good in the world. Also in the Bible is "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for

49. The Christian Worldview : Christ And The Bible
The way an individual perceives the world is known as his or her worldview; furthermore,
worldview influences many different aspects of life, such as discipleship, relationships, critical
thinking, and decision–making. Beginning in childhood, the worldview is being altered
continuously. Christ and the Bible are two things at the core of the Christian worldview. The Bible is
an essential building block to uncovering the biblical worldview. It is unified in nature and what this
unity accomplishes. Countless valuable doctrines are discovered in the Bible three specific examples
include existence and attributes of God, and sin and salvation.
The Bible is unified in nature and in what it accomplishes. In addition, it does not contradict itself.
The whole book is the inspired word of God and is truth. God is too great to be fully comprehended
by humans, while mysteries still remain through the Bible people gain a deeper understanding of His
character. The reader sees that God is Righteous. Numerous times in the Bible individuals see that
God is wrathful and some view this as intimidating. Fear of the Lord is an asset. On the other hand,
people find comfort in the fact that God provides justice as well as judgment. God is truth. His word
is true. He remains faithful never breaking a promise. Furthermore, God is mighty possessing
eternal power. There is nothing too great for God to do. His power leaves people in amazement. Paul

1)PREFACE
I) We unequivocally acknowledge the Christian Bible as the inspired–written Word of the living
God given to humanity by way of dual authorship human and Divine for the purpose of revealing
God the Father and His will for humankind; therefore comprehending the Godly priority and
importance of knowing and obeying its truths; we are passionately committed to teaching Scripture
in truth with clarity and do diligence under the anointing and the illuminating light of the Holy Spirit
with the divine authority of the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior
II) Furthermore, we are fully convinced that our Divine–calling mission and central goal of the body
of Christ and to all who have ears to hear is the continual in parting of Biblical truths. Henceforth
when the Word of God is preached in expository fashion and systematically taught in line with
sound doctrine to the children of God, the servants of Christ become fully equipped with the truth of
Scripture that is mature in sound doctrine; thus, not deceived and tossed to and fro by the wiles of
the devil through the cunning craftiness of his demonic ministers who twist the plain truth about
Scripture by teaching the false doctrines of demons therefore by the consistent teaching of Biblical
truth the servants of God will become thoroughly equipped to do the work of the ministry, thus

61. Christian College Freshmen Should Make Time For A Daily Bible
College can be a very difficult adjustment for freshman to make, especially for freshmen that are
believers in Christ. While the struggles and evils of the world bare down on them, students need a
source of fulfillment and safety. That can be found within a daily study of the bible. Christian
college freshmen should make time for a daily bible study so that they may grow closer with the
Lord, get help and guidance for life, and reach a deeper understanding of what the bible says so they
can defend against attacks. A daily bible study plays a major part for college freshman to grow
closer to Christ. God set the bible as the main source for revealing Himself. The bible is His love
letter to all humans, and by reading and studying it every day, they can start to truly understand
God's great character and His great love. God's character is revealed within the bible's pages; it tells
of His great majesty and grandeur. If students do not dive into the word, they will miss how holy
and perfect He is. Christ's ultimate sacrifice is also explained multiple times in the bible. He
demonstrated His great love for us by dying on a cross, defeating sin, and rising from the grave. He
did all of this to save His creation, so they may come live with Him. Christians who do not study the
bible can take His sacrifice for granted so easily. Freshmen must understand what Christ did for
them and know how great their Lord is. Students can grow closer to Christ through prayer as well.

65. The Bible Is An Important Aspect Of Our Christian Lives
Studying the Bible is an important aspect of our Christian lives. The Bible is the flawless and
inerrant word of God. He spoke through the chosen authors the words of the Bible. Through the
Scriptures, God reveals his character and revelation. The Bible has authority since it is ultimately
from God. The Bible is the inerrant and inspired word of God that holds authority.
The Bible has the power to give commands and demand obedience. This authority is both inherent
and given by God. God is the highest authority and "He is his own authority, for there is nothing
outside him on which his authority is founded" (Elwell, 154). The Bible is God's Word and He
reveals himself and His authority through Scripture. The Bible appoints its own authority by
claiming to be from God and containing the words of God. "The authority of the Bible is established
by its own claims. It is the word of God." (Elwell, 154).
Biblical inspiration is "a supernatural influence of the Holy Spirit upon divinely chosen agents in
consequence of which their writings become trustworthy and authoritative" (Elwell, 160). In other
words, the Holy Spirit inspired and was involved with the writings of the Bible. Paul speaks of
inspiration when He writes to Timothy, "All Scripture is God–breathed and is useful for teaching,
rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness" (2 Timothy 3:16, NIV). Scripture is the Word of
God and the Holy Spirit used these chosen authors to write the words and message of God.

To me this is like a very wicked Bible and History book all in one. Just like the Christian Bible it
tells the people that there is only one god. The manual goes back to the past on how a group of

When you start reading its confusing but not only does it confusing it tries to make the reader angry

them, and do it to others in a kind of Pledger known as "O Sister" In our Christian Bible it states

Christian Ethics
6 May 2017
Christian Ethics Summary
By definition, ethics is the branch of philosophy dealing with what is morally right and wrong. As a
Christian, ethics takes on a whole new meaning because it bases what is right or wrong on what the
Bible teaches us. I have gained a lot of spiritual and Biblical knowledge this year in the study of
Christian ethics. In class we discussed numerous teachings from the Bible in which Jesus shares
God's spiritual and moral goals for us as humans. We explored controversial topics in today's
society, such as the importance of marriage and the horrible facts about divorce and abortion.
Through our discussions I learned that God wants us all to be happy and to value ... Show more

He preached the power of repentance to God and the need to love others, even those we consider to
be our enemies, as the path towards endless life with God. Jesus's ministry was set around spreading
the word of God to all of Israel. It is generally thought to start with his baptism by John the Baptist,
and ends with the Last Supper. Jesus performed many miracles along the way, including feeding the
five thousand with only three loves of bread and two fish, walking on water, and curing people of
serious diseases, just to name a few. Jesus also taught about how we should all come in peace, rather
than with violence because Jesus believed that we should all love and respect everyone, even those
who hate us or want to hurt us. Jesus led by example showing kindness to all he meet, and even
associating with tax collectors. I think Jesus was the ultimate peacemaker, fighting for those who
were treated unfairly. Jesus stressed the importance of the young, handicapped, and poor, often
associating with children or people of little means. He also stressed the importance of spreading
God's word and enlisted the twelve disciples to help disperse God's word to more people. The Good
Samaritan was one of Jesus's many parables that he used during his teachings about God. A expert in
the Law came to Jesus and asked what he had to do to inherit eternal life. Jesus asked him what was
written in the Law. He replied, to love God with all of your heart,

The "Holy Bible" is God's word in print, so it's simply infallibly! Why? Do I really have to give you

guide to living the correct way and the better way, for as without it's knowledge and teachings, we're
doomed. Man's incapable of living in peace. Many don't seem to realise, that we're presently
"running towards world war 3" and soon knowledge will be increased, but lots of misery & suffering

81. Comparing Christian Bible And The New Testament
The Christian Bible is split into two divisions, the Old Testament and the New Testament. The Old
Testament, the first division, focuses mainly on the history of the creation of our world, specifically
the history and religion of the people of Israel. The second division, the New Testament, mainly
focuses on the life and religious teachings of Jesus and the beliefs of the Christian church. Although
the New Testament acts as an extension/continuation of the Old Testament, a main difference
between the two if the characterization of God and his relationship with humanity. In both divisions,
although God condemns those who are guilty of sinning and does so in a way that can often be seen
as quite wrathful, his loving side is depicted a lot more in the New Testament than in the Old
Testament. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the Old Testament, in the Creation Story (Genesis), God proves how vicious he can be with his
punishments when he punishes the serpent for allowing Eve to touch the tree of knowledge. The
Bible states, "And the lord God said unto the serpent, because thou hast done this, thou art cursed
above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou
eat all the days of thy life," (Gen. 3.14). Right then and there God exhibits his power over all living
things. God has a very strong opinion about the life that he's created and always has consequences
for things that he finds wrong with the world. In the Flood, while conversing with Noah, God says,
"The end of all flesh is come before mel for the earth is filled with violence through them and,
behold, I will destroy them with the earth," (Gen. 6.13). The God being depicted in the Old
Testament is very merciless and seeks full divine judgment for all things he

85. Christian Life And The Teachings Of The Bible
I have been participating in the Korean language class on Monday and Wednesday from August 10
to now. Last Sunday, I participated in the 1st annual golden harvest 5k marathon. First, I'd like to
discuss the spiritual concepts/values from text that relate to personal beliefs. I am a Christian since
birth. So all I'd like to talk about is Christian life and the teachings of the bible. Throughout my
whole life, I have learned about spiritual things and what kind of spiritual things are in my ego. The
spiritual values that I always have is love, hope, and trust. Love is an element that Christians value
and have in their Christian mind and the bible says to love each other. I am doing my best to
understand this word throughout my whole life and it is the reason why I chose my major Nursing.
The dictionary meaning of love is an intense feeling of deep affection or feel a deep romantic or
sexual attachment to someone. The bible states that Christian love is selfless and a giving love. I
realized something when I went to Africa for doing some volunteer work. I felt what it meant to be
selfless and what it was to give love through volunteering and now I keep this in mind through my
life too. The second value is hope. All of religion is based on hope, just like forgiveness, and going
to heaven and waiting for God to give them something that they want. But in the bible it says, "set
your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ"(Peter

89. Comparing Christian Beliefs Of The Bible, Jesus, And God
Christianity and Islam are two of the most popular religions in world. Everyone, from East to West,
knows about these religions because of their historical impact and their continued influence today.
However, even though Christianity and Islam are two of the most popular religions, many people
know little about them, especially their similarities. This essay will discuss how Islam and
Christianity are similar but different in their views of the Bible, Jesus, and God.
First off, let's begin by comparing the Islamic and Christian beliefs of the Bible. For Christians the
Bible is their holy text and the word of God, while the Islamic belief is that the Bible is the word of
prophets and it has been corrupted by the centuries; there are multiple versions of the Bible and it
has been mistranslated. Also, Muslims only find truth in the Bible if it agrees with the Qur'an.
Although Muslims do not hold it to the same degree of importance as the Christians do, it is still
regarded as a holy text in both religions.
Secondly, Christianity and Islam have similar but also very different views on Jesus. Islam and
Christianity both believe that Jesus was born from a virgin mother and that Jesus performed
miracles. However, in Christian belief Jesus was God in a human vessel and he died on the cross to
forgive ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Islamic belief of Allah, or God, is that He is one; Muslims do not believe in separation of God
into different people or things, this defies the Christian belief of the Holy Trinity. The Christian
belief of the Holy Trinity is that God is the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; He is not three
separate gods or one God in three forms. Although they differ in their belief of the Holy Trinity, they
both believe that there is only one God in existence. That is why Muslims believe that both
Christians and Muslims worship the same God, because there is only one God in

93. Comparing Utilitarianism To Christian Ethics And The Bible
Any decision and action a person makes are based on moral principles that govern their behaviour,
known as ethics. Many different fundamentals of ethics rationalize and justify peoples decisions.
One specific theory is called utilitarianism. This research paper will summarize this theory and
evaluate the strengths and weaknesses relating utilitarianism to Christian Ethics and the Bible. Also,
an application of utilitarianism to the moral issue or killing another human being will be discussed.
Utilitarianism perspectives can be found in many situations throughout history. It is "one of the most
powerful and persuasive approaches to normative ethics in the history of philosophy" (Driver).
Utilitarianism suggests that "the morally right action

97. Bible Vs Christian New Testament
Before I read this chapter I had absolutely no idea that the Jewish religion had their own bible. The
main differences that I came across after reading and doing research are the number of books, the
arrangement of the books, the primary language that the Bibles are read or studied in, the content of
the two Bibles, and the importance that is given to the oral and the written traditions in making of
the two holy books. The word 'Bible' comes from the Greek word 'biblia' which means 'books' and
both religions call their religious scripture 'Bible' (Frigge 1). Judaism dates back to the 2nd century
BCE and the Jewish Bible is called Tanakh. It consists of 24 books which are in Hebrew and
Armanic (Hayes 3). It is divided into three parts, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

109. The Christian Worldview Of The Holy Bible
The term "worldview" refers to an accumulation of core beliefs, which influence the understanding
man has of the world. Because a worldview refers to individual beliefs, everyone's worldview is
different. The Christian worldview is based off of the Holy Bible, and because of that, God shapes
the way Christians understand the world around them. However, the Bible is not the only influence
that Christians are exposed to, and they must constantly monitor their worldview to be certain that it
does not stray from the truth in God's Word. If Christians are able to identify some key beliefs that
are in the Bible, it can make the task of monitoring their worldview easier. The beginning of the
Bible, the Creation, is one of these foundational beliefs ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A recurring idea called "Gnostism" is an example of flawed theology which can be exposed by the
Creation story. The Gnostics claimed that "the one true God is too high and pure to be contaminated
by our lower, physical reality. . . Thus, when Gnostics read the Old Testament, they concluded that
the God presented there must be an inferior god." (Wittmer) The story of Creation reminds
Christians of how the world should be, well and good, and can help to paint a clearer picture of what
the restored earth will be like. The Gnostic ideas are valid only if God created an imperfect world.
Christians know, because of the Creation story, that God created a perfect world. "Christianity, like
its parent faith, Judaism, embraced what he [N. T. Wright] and others called 'creational monotheism.'
They affirmed the goodness of creation and of God's continual activity within creation. Thus, for
them, 'salvation' was not a matter of being delivered from the material world to a state of
disembodied bliss, but instead, a restoration of God's intended order for the creation." (Stonestreet.
2014) Thus, the claim that an inferior god made a tainted creation is false, because the Creation was
perfect, and God is the highest being. Because of the Creation story, Christians can recognize
Gnostic ideas as flawed theology, affirming the story of Creation as a fundamental base for the

113. Christian Inaccuracies In The Bible
Introduction
Every day people are introduced to the Bible, whether it be through Christians or non–
Christians. Christians will try to convince people that the Bible is true, while non–Christians will
say that there are too many inaccuracies in the Bible for it to be true. As Christians, we should
take a look at what the other side has to say, so we are aware of what others believe and so that
we can accurately talk about the other side's claims. Another reason that Christians should
conduct their own research on the accuracy is so they can defend their faith and know why they
believe what they believe. There are many people in our would today that believe certain facts
and information to be true only because friends or family ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

This account was an early example that shows us that even before Jesus came, God the
Father performed miracles. Through research Dr. Gary Habermas, a scholar in New Testament
history and has conducted lots of research for providing sound evidence to support the New
Testament, discovered that many agree and recognize Jesus' miracles dealing with healings and
exorcisms, but deny the nature miracles. The fact that Jesus' miracles are listed and discussed
in each of the Gospels show proof that Jesus really did perform miracles. Dr. Gary Habermas
stated, "medical studies of certain 'miraculous' phenomena today indicate that we are still not
able to account for all such incident in purely naturalistic terms." That statement from Dr.
Habermas shows that one cannot account for the miracles through naturalistic elements, but rather

118. Comparing Christian Bible And The Sky World Creation Story
There are several different theories as to how the earth came to be, there are similarities and
differences with some of them. It is very clear that there are indeed differences in the stories, along
with similarities. Many people are familiar with the Christian Bible version; the earth was created in
seven days, Adam was created then Eve from his rib. However, not nearly as many people have
heard of the Sky World creation story. Both stories have a tree with something forbidden about it. In
the Christian story the character may not eat the fruit which grows from the tree; in the Sky World
story the character may eat all the fruit she wish, however, you may not touch the roots or do
anything to harm the tree. In both stories there is someone who rebels and does what they were not
supposed to with the trees. The woman in Sky World dug to find the roots of the tree and she fell
through the bottom of sky world; in the Bible story the fruit was eaten. In both stories, the people
were punished in some way. In the sky world story, the Skywoman along with the animals created

was a loving mother and caring person. There isn't much realism in either story, however, there are
morals and it is easy to see the differences in morals. The sky world story teaches forgiveness,
patience, kindness, nurturing, and many other things that are valuable for people to learn. In the
Bible story, however, it is taught that if you make a mistake or are tempted you should be punished
horribly, it also teaches fear and that you should do as you're told because you are afraid, not

122. The Christian Religion / Holy Bible And The Bible
Telling stories in great detail, whether verbally, or written down, has always been a part of human
civilization among various cultures. Thus by knowing what our ancestors honored or thought to be
entertaining, while passing down cultural values, we too are able to learn from them and put such
knowledge into a modern context. Particularly dealing with the Christian religion/holy bible that
was forcibly spread throughout the world with colonialization, many stories interpreted from it
produces various perspectives that seem to change as years pass, with bibles being revised/edited.
Even translation from ancient languages into modern languages are not always perfect, so real
misunderstandings will remain. However, as society evolves with scientific advancement and more
people consider opposite viewpoints to justify or change theirs, evidence has been found that can
disprove events in the bible and the bible as a whole. Others who have faith in the bible's
truthfulness also say some type of evidence can prove such questionable stories that preach Jesus
was indeed on earth. Focusing on an excerpt/chapter from 2 distinctly different books, Christopher
Hitchens critiques the faults of Christianity/religion, and Gordon D. Fee and Douglas Stuart

Leadership, as it relates to the Bible, is a guide or a way of living. Leadership is not only an outward
manifestation of task, objectives, and strategies that are seen in the secular arena, but leadership is
from within. Christensen (2015) points out
Christian leadership is not a combination of two individual tasks; it is a full embrace of the Christian
world view and way of living and the leading from that understanding is (christian–>
leadership)...The primary call of the Christian is to follow God and be formed in the image of his
son...The secondary call is to serve God orthopathy, ortho–cardy, orthodoxy, and be orthopraxy.
(Para 2)
In other words, a Christian and/or leadership does not live outside of itself "And whatsoever ye do,
do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward

a distortion of understanding who Jesus is, Servant Leadership is the choice over alternative theories
because alternatives will affect individuals and organizations. Because the sacred text (Robbins,

on earth. For decades, people have questioned the veracity of the Christian Bible for many reasons. I
would like to talk about one the reason people question whether or not the Christian Bible is just a
novel or if it is a true account of the life of Jesus. In the Bible, "The Gospels of Matthew, Mark, and
Luke are called the Synoptic Gospel, because they give a panorama or overview (synopsis) of the

I believe these stories are written from a distinctive perspective because Matthew, Mark, and Luke

reach would understand the message of Christ.

Comparing Creation Myths of Ancient Egypt and The Christian Bible
Creation in Ancient Egyptian religion can be much different than the creation account taken from
The Bible. Genesis has a set description of "The Beginning" while there are several different
versions and variations in Egyptian mythology. The versions range from a "one god" myth (Ptah;
see picture) to the more common creator out of Nun, which in itself has several derivations.
The Ogdoad is a grouping of eight gods that existed before the creator and formed him. This version
is taken from Middle Egypt at Hermopolis. The eight gods consisted of Amun, Huh, Kuk, and Nun
and their counterparts (i.e. Nun and Naunet). They came together to create an egg that contains the

Creation began by a bodily function of the creator god. Either through ejaculation, sneezing, or
spitting the creator began to produce others (Redford). The creator god had other gods come into
being and they in turn began to create until the ancient Egyptians had a sufficient explanation for
there being here.
The most popular creation myth, in present day is the "one god" myth. It existed yet, had a brief life
and it was in the minority. Here Ptah was the closest thing to monotheism that the ancients had. This
is a popular theme in Memphite theology, but it was present in parts of Egypt. Ptah supposedly had
all that is manifest in thought and then created them with his Word (Baines, 1991). It is also said that
the "one god" is and the other god names are used to personify an extension of the "one god"
(Ancient Egyptian Religion pg. 2 and 3). Ptah creates the Ennead with thought and word. This
monotheism was not very widespread and it did not last long.
In Genesis, the first book of The Bible the Christian and Jewish creation story is told. God spoke
and his Word was done. He made the heavens and the earth. He made light and drove away the dark.
On the earth he created the waters and lands and man and beast.
The last two accounts are similar in many ways. Ptah can be identified with God even though what
they did to create was not exactly similar. Ptah created the Ennead while God

Christian sect is a small church faction that has separated from a larger group to follow a specific
practice or interpretation of the Bible. Often, a Christian sect is held together by one teacher who
promotes the unique doctrine. The reason for the formation of Christian sects could be a human
rights issue (e.g. slavery in the 1800s), church government (e.g. whether or not to pay pastors),
biblical separation, evangelism, etc. Because there are two testaments, and the Bible requires
interpretation by anyone that follows Christianity, Christian are divided into each sect to follow the

150. The Christian Old Testament Of The Bible Today
"In the beginning, God created the Heauen, and the Earth. And the earth was without forme, and
voyd, and darknesse was vpon the face of the deepe: and the spirit of God mooued vpon the face of
the waters. And God said, Let there be light, and there was light." (Genesis 1–3) So begins the first
book of the Christian Old Testament, the Hebrew Torah, one of the most recognizable texts in
history. At least, the text begins the King James Bible in 1611, itself arguably the most influential
version or translation of the Bible today. But this is not the original text. Surprisingly, the original
scripture was not written in Early Modern English in the 17th century in the British Isles, but in
Hebrew and possibly Aramaic, while the New Testament was written in Koine Greek. In fact, the
original Hebrew looked nothing like our Latin script of today. Hebrew is a Semitic language, and
therefore an Afroasiatic one, while English is Indo–European, and you would be hard pressed to find
someone who believes that the two fall into a larger, connected language family besides some Indian
nationalists who believe that all languages are derived from Sanskrit, or Tamil. And although there is
much borrowing and exchanging of roots and words, modern English speakers have no mutual
intelligibility with Hebrew. As Ralph Waldo Emerson famously said in his Letters and Social Aims,
