"Other nations have hostile against us, hampering our power, limiting our greatness and checking
the fulfillment of our manifest destiny to overspread the continent"(Doc A Para 2). United States
were fighting over Mexican to reclaim Texas to be part of the country. In July 1845, John L.
O'Sullivan feels like the US should annexing Texas and California (Doc A Para 1). He thought that
the Mexicans were dumb because they didn't have any government authority over a country. The
Mexico wanted to expand their lands. The invasion took place in April 24th when sixteen American
were killed and wounded (Doc B Para 4). The argument is Americans justified in going to war with
Mexico. The United States was justified in going to war with Mexico because territory, slaves, and
invasion.
The territory was an issue with the United States and Mexico. In Doc A Para 1, it quotes "It is time
for opposition to the Annexation of Texas to cease. Texas is now ours." It probably indicates that
Texas is now part of the United States. The Mexican were Catholic and wanted the Texas under
control. People began moving into Texas (Doc D Para 2). The American fear that California will

In Doc D Para 2, the quote said, "Slaveholders crossed the Sabine River with their slaves, in

Louisiana and Texas so people in the United States were moving into Texas. The most likely people
coming into Texas from their state would be California. California had white people moving into the

The City Of Mexico
Mexico is a country in North America, right under the United States of America and right above
Central America. The official name of Mexico is actually "Estados Unidos Mexicanos" (United
Mexican States). It contains many beautiful beaches from the Pacific Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico.
It has a various ideal of landscapes from mountains. to deserts, to jungles. The language the people
speak there is Spanish or there are about 68 native language groups. As the 12th most populous
country in the world, the population for Mexico is about 127.5 million people living there. This
country is full of ancient ruins that are millions of years old throughout the Spanish colonial–era
towns. Its capital is Mexico City kinda by the bottom of the country. Mexico City has the highest
elevation and is oldest city in North America. It is also one of the largest cities in the world.
Mexico has many fun and unique traditions, cultures, and religions. The culture of Mexico reflects
the country's complex history and is the result of the gradual blending of native culture, particularly
as Mesoamerican, with Spanish culture and other immigrant cultures. They have a holiday were
mexican children do not receive presents on Christmas Day, they receive gifts on January 6 as the
day on which Mexicans celebrate the arrival of the Three Wise Men. There is also Cinco de Mayo,

Trafficking In Mexico
Since 2006, Mexico has rapidly climbed the list of potential trouble spots for U.S. policy makers
(Brands, May 2009). Exportation of drugs is a huge problem on top of the cartel violence the drugs
were still getting out of Mexico into the U.S. The strategy narcotics analyst showed that 90 percent
of cocaine was smuggled through Mexico alone. The Congressional Research Report concluded that
for almost four decades Mexico has been among the most important producers and suppliers of
heroin, marijuana and later methamphetamine to the U.S. market (Beithel, 2009). Drug trafficking in
Mexico has claimed thousands of lives both from civilians and government officials which seems
like a war with no victims and a never ending battle. Regardless of Calderon's ... Show more content

Which as highlighted above as drug related violence, corruption and extremely high exportation
levels out of Mexico. These issues have ultimately had negative impacts on Mexico as a state as
these issues have broken down the legitimacy of the government itself. Despite the efforts to combat
these issues , specifically in reference to Felipe Calderon , although he had seen it as a win on the
war on drugs , from the research this clearly was not so. There is no doubt that Mexico have tried to
fight the drug ring in the initiatives that were put in place however it is seen that these issues were
combatted with more violence. As stated the Merida Initiative was a step in the right direction as
Mexico could not have combatted this on their own. A Latin American Analyst stated in an article
written in 2009 that the Merida Initiative was designed to combat a problem that was shared by both
countries and contributing by both countries to fight (Beithel, 2009). Which is a very well portrayed
fact as U.S. is just as much to blame for the impacts on Mexican Sovereignty than the Mexican state
itself. The impacts of these issues have broken down the system where citizens are now finding it
hard to cope with the violence and feel that the government are not getting to the true root of the
problem. In a BBC documentary called the Mexican Drug War citizens that were interviewed had

Bunker Mexico
What is also intriguing about Bunker's study of Mexico is that the changes that were being accepted
by the Mexican population were very often complete contradictions to what was considered
traditionally Mexican. Not only does this stand in complete opposition to what was seen in Karush's
Argentina, but in Mexico the "constant reworking of consumer goods and the texts used to sell
them... generated the cultural meaning that provided an identity for both the self and the world
around them."(Bunker 97) Once again, Mexico and Argentina could not be any different when seen
through the lens of Consumer Culture and Culture of Class. The strict devotion of the government in
Argentina to keep hold of traditional ways of life were mirrored in Mexico by ... Show more content

Each author in his or her own way masterfully employs images in order to better support their
overall claims. Within her text, Workers Go Shopping, Milanesio expertly employs multiple photos
of Argentinians moving about their daily lives to illustrate how the importation of western culture so
greatly affected the emerging middle, and working–class consumers. This gives great backing to her
thesis of how the emerging working–class so greatly affected the transformation of Argentina into a
modern 20th century nation. Photos of the Argentinian people enjoying modern luxuries like dance
halls and vacations to the beach, are accompanied by advertisements from magazines and street
billboards which further illuminate the consumer culture which had engulfed the nation by mid–
century. Milanesio also employs images to illustrate how the importation of western culture also
propagated gender roles for not only women, but men as well. Documents taken directly from
Argentinian media of the day can be seen encouraging women to aspire for beauty, but also
submissiveness. The propagation of the housewife myth, visible here in the Argentinian media, was
a very prevalent force in the society of the United States at this time and can be assumed to have
been heavily influenced by their neighbors to the north. Ads directed to women for sewing machines
and kitchen appliances were mirrored by ones pointed to men which embedded ideals of masculinity
and hard work. These advertisements not only encouraged an overall image of what Argentinian
people should aspire to, but also expanded the consumer market, thereby promoting consumerism.
These photographs of Argentinians enjoying the newfound luxuries of modernity and consumer
society gives great backing to Milanesio's thesis of how the

Chapo In Mexico
This event is about El Chapo being recaptured and decided to be extradited into U.S. prison with
confirmation of Mexico and United States working together to compromise the deal.
El Chapo will be charged with multiple charges such as possession of weapons, drug trafficking, and
organized crimes; due to the fail attempts of the Mexican authorities keeping El Chapo from
escaping authorities. El Chapo has escaped in 2001 by using a laundry cart to escape, and also a
underground tunnel back in July of 2015. Mexico decided that El Chapo should be extradited to
prevent flaws of attempts in their security. Not only has El Chapo make Mexico look bad but he has
gained United States attention of the multiple escapes; they are trying to prevent El Chapo from

Cultural Values In Mexico
Mexico is a country located in North America. It borders the North Pacific Ocean, Gulf of Mexico,
and the Caribbean Sea. Mexico has two mountain ranges that are extensions of the Rocky
Mountains from northern North America. Mexico has a federal republic and a free market economy
where the prices of good and services are determined in a free price system. They are quite easy to
do business with in the world, being 47th out of 188 countries. Mexico has a population of over 129
million people and the growth rate in 2017 is 1.27%, which is actually 50% lower than it was in
1980. With so many people being born each year, more and more areas are becoming populated, and
there is no room to really grow. This was a factor of why my friend Emilio Yepez moved from
Mexico. Him and his family knew that there could be a better life in the United States rather than
staying and living in Mexico due to the socio–economic gap that is very wide, and the fact that rural
areas are often neglected in Mexico. There is also thousands of people who die due to gang related
violence. There are powerful cartels that control the drug trafficking in South America to the US.
Mexico has rampant gang violence, corruption within the government and it is also a weak state
with little authority. The Hofstede's Cultural Values are very interesting to compare to the United
States. The power distance in Mexico is two times better than the United States's; however, the
United States is three times greater in the

The Country Of Mexico : Mexico City
Mexico is known for its diversity, its beautiful people, its colorful culture, its history and famous
landmarks. It is home to over 119 million people and growing, making it the most populated
Spanish speaking country in the world. The Country of Mexico is made up of 31 states and 1
Federal District. Although it is so populated, it only has one metropolis: Mexico City. Mexico City
is the most populated city in all of Mexico. The most highly dense populated cities in Mexico will
mostly be found in the south or "waist" of the country, due to its climate. Mexico 's climate is very
different depending on whether one wants to visit the north or the south of the country. In North
Mexico, it is very dry and hot with rugged mountains like the Sierra Madre Occidental that goes
west and the Sierra Madre Oriental that goes East of the country. On the North west just below the
state of California, is the Baja California which translates to "Below California" and right beneath
Baja California is Baja California Sur which can be translated into "Lower California South." These
two states make up one of the two peninsulas in Mexico. Moving down to south Mexico, the climate
changes from hot, dry and desert–like to tropical and humid. This is the most populated part of the
country because people can grow crops and provide for their families and find jobs and make a
living. Mexico also has another peninsula located in the south east called the Yucatan peninsula.

The Jesuits In Mexico
The arrival of the Jesuits in Mexico occurred after a failed attempt at the Florida Mission. Cushner
describes the area of concentration of the Jesuits as the Four Rivers of Sinaloa (Cushner, 49). For the
Spanish crown, conversion was the way to expand economic interests, not to mention the acquisition
of new land. The Jesuits began working with the Chichimeca Indians, which led to a bloody, drawn–
out conflict called the Chichimeca War of 1550 –1590 (Cushner, 50). According to William Bangert,
In Mexico, by 1600, the Jesuits had contacted the Chichimeca Indians and were successful in
transforming them from "migrants and warriors" into "villagers and farmers" (Bangert, 165).
Bangert further asserts that it was Gonzalo de Tapia, described ... Show more content on

As a result of an earlier conflict with the Spanish settlers regarding mining for precious metals, the
Indians were weary of the Jesuit missionaries. As such, the Jesuits insisted that they were different.
They told the Indians, "We have not come for gold or the silver that's buried in your land. We have
not come to make slaves of you and take your wives and children. You see only two of us, alone,
unarmed. We have come only to tell you about the creator of heaven and earth. Without knowledge
of him you will be unhappy forever (Cushner, 52)." After spending time with the Indians, the
Indians saw that the Jesuits could be trusted. What was it that enlisted this trust? The Jesuits learned
the language, carried no arquebus, demanded no corn or food but spoke only of Virigeva, the Eternal
God (Cushner, 52)." The Jesuit missionaries came to accept or tolerate many of the Indian customs
and beliefs with the exception of drunkenness. "The Spanish considered drunkenness a form of
induced insanity and thereby contrary to the natural order of things (Cushner, 53)." These villages
then became the focus of evangelization. The missionaries placed their focus on the cacique, or
chief. "If the cacique received them well and accepted baptism, the villagers usually

Mexico Immigration
It's not easy to pack your bags and leave everything behind including your family which you might
not see for years, yet many Mexican people do just that because they believe in the American dream.
They leave their country because they are seeking jobs or trying to find the security that they weren't
able to find in their own country. This immigration that happens not only effects the U.S.
economically and socially, but it also impacts Mexico by taking away potential entrepreneurs.
Before the 60's Mexico has experience a growth in their economy that was called the "Mexican

The Cultures In Mexico And The Culture Of Mexico
The culture of Mexico has undergone a tremendous transformation over the past few decades and it
varies widely throughout the country. Many Mexicans live in cities, but smaller rural communities
still play a strong role in defending the country's collective vibrant community. Mexico is the 12th
most populous country in the world, with over 123 million people in a July 2016 estimate, according
to the Central Intelligence Agency's World Factbook. According to the CIA, Mexico consists of
several ethnic groups. The mestizo (Amerindian–Spanish) group accounts for 62 percent of the
population. Amerindian people or predominantly Amerindian people account for 21 percent, while
10 percent of the population is white. These groups create a culture that is unique to Mexico. Here is
a brief overview of Mexican Culture.
Languages of Mexico, the overwhelming majority of Mexicans today speak Spanish. According to
the CIA, Spanish is spoke by 92.7 percent of the Mexican population. About 6 percent of the
population speaks Spanish as well as indigenous languages, such as Mayan, Nahuatl and other
regional languages. Indigenous, Mexican words have even become common in other languages,
including English. For example, chocolate, coyote, tomato and avocado all originated in Nahuatl.

Examples Of Inequality In Mexico
The fact that Mexico is a highly unequal country is a well–known fact at least since Alexander Von
Humboldt's definition of the region then known as New Spain. Von Humboldt indeed, a botanical
geographer that travelled in Latin America at the beginning of the nineteenth century, defines the
region as "the country of inequality". Unfortunately, this is still true in the twenty–first century.
Inequality in Mexico is more pronounced compared to Latin America's average. In fact, it ranks 4th
in the world, falling behind only South Africa, Honduras and Brazil (CIA World Factbook).
Moreover, more than 55 million people in the country, which accounts for more than half of the
population, still live in poor conditions. Even more worrying, the top 1% Mexicans (income) has an
average annual income 47 times larger compared to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
How did Mexico become 'the country of inequality'? According to Juan Carlos Moreno–Brid,
Deputy Director of the ECLAC (Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean),
Mexico was already unequal in Pre–Hispanic times. Unquestionably, inequality dramatically spread
out during the 300 years of Spain's colonial reign. When the Spanish conquistadors arrived in
Mexico in 1519, they surprisingly found relatively advanced agriculture–based communities and a
population of almost 25 million indigenous. (College of Agricultural and Life Sciences 2014)
Nonetheless, by the early seventeenth century, the native population of Mexico had been reduced
from about 25 million to fewer than 1 million. It was the worst demographic collapse in human
history. As Mexico appeared to be the most thriving of Spain's colonial possessions, Spain decided
to rule the colony with an iron fist. Indeed, colonial viceroys were pure dictators and corruption was
at the order of the day in the colonial administration. (O'Neil

The Annexation of Mexico
"The object of war is victory; that of victory is conquest; and that of conquest is preservation
(Charles de Secondat)." War is both a necessity and a parasite. It is a necessity for one to conquer
and fulfill ambitions, while the parasite trying to destroy and create havoc in the same discussion.
The annexation of Mexico would face both of these predicaments, but the necessity for prosperity
and stability outweighs the parasite's wants and desires. Bringing forth Mexico into the union would
only benefit the new country both globally and locally. Mexico has too much to offer to ignore the
positive consequences that unification brings forth. Endless possibilities for change for the people,
brings about change for the future. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
And the more people left out of jobs, the greater the chance of an economic crash. Thats where
stability becomes issue number two. How could this possibly work with all of this chaos running
about? Stability would be very hard to manage with such a flood of job seekers in this new job
world. It would be like walking on stilts for the first time and hoping not to fall. Yikes. "There are
no great limits to growth because there are no limits of human intelligence, imagination, and wonder
(Ronald Reagan)." Growth is like a child's imagination, it can go on and on in an infinite direction.
Never stopping and never yielding to any type of force. That growth is the USA. The growth of
America by the annexation of Mexico is limitless. Both economically and the stability it would
bring is mind blowing. Let us first divulge in economics. Economics can either be a relatively easy
concept or one you must build from the bottom up. With Mexico brought into the union, and our
economy on the rise as it is, we can only build up higher and higher. For instance, the markets would
vastly expand. New trading partners would come forth with the introduction of Mexican–American
coffee, sugars, and of course Blue agave tequila. The new stock market would be the best indicator
on how the world's businesses are running. It would be a NYSE, but one that is on steroids,

Mexico Superstitions
New year traditions are continuously passed down from generation to generation.. Mexico is known
for being culturally rich, having many traditions they do. Superstition is very important at Mexican
new year celebrations. It influences what people wear, and what and how people eat. Colors have a
big part in the mexican traditions from their clothes to candles. They of course have lots of foods
they like to prepare and share with one another. They also clean and perform many rituals. Colors
take on a big role for the new year's. Table is decorated in red and gold, and the candles demonstrate
a desire for peace(blue), prosperity(yellow), money(green), and white for health ("New Year's").
People's clothes are color coordinated according to superstitions. Women choose colored underwear

Also they have become major import and exporters to various countries. Mexico has outdone some
countries especially when it comes to the automotive industry (United 23). The automotive industry
accounts for approximately 20.3% of their manufacturing (United 23). It also makes up about 3.6%
of the national GDP in Mexico (United 23). Mexico has not only surpassed South Korea, but they
have also passed Brazil, and they are now the sixth largest worldwide vehicle producer (United 23).
This has taken them not only to the top for just rising economies, but now they are known
worldwide for some of the best vehicles and automotive parts. Ten manufacturers are in Mexico
currently, "including General Motors, Chrysler, Ford, Nissan, Fiat, Renault, Honda, Toyota,
Volkswagen, and Mazda." (United 23). They now have this expertise in exporting because they have
improved access to international markets ("Why" 1). Not only that but, they have also gained more
skilled laborers, and they now have competitive production costs ("Why" 1). Lastly, Mexico has also
strengthened their democratic governance ("Why" 1). These have all played major factors in the
success of Mexico, and that is what brought them to the top. Mexico's economy has increased
around 83% in overall income in the last couple years ("The" 1). Their main income comes from
exports. The top five export destinations for Mexico are of course number one being the United
States with 70% of exports, and number two being Canada with 5.4% (Simoes 1). Number three of
five top exporting countries for Mexico is Spain with 2.1%, number four is China with 2%, and five
of five is Colombia with 1.8%, so the researcher can see the United States is by far the largest
exporting country for Mexico, but others play in (Simoes 1). Overall Mexico has grown over the

My Experience In Mexico : My Journey To Mexico
As we sat on the burning concrete, utter chaos on every side, and a stench so strong some people
covered their mouths with rags, one would naturally feel inclined to be despondent. Even with these
circumstances, however, an overwhelming joy manifested itself inside of my heart. When I
considered the immense benefits and opportunities that I took for granted in The United States, I
knew that I had to help these people in any way that I could. As a result, I poured myself into loving
those around me in the limited time that I had in Mexico. Despite my extremely low knowledge of
the Spanish language and inexperience in the mission field, by the end of the trip, I felt as though I
had left the community that we served in better than it was when we arrived. Almost four years ago,
my church provided me with the amazing chance to fly to Oaxaca City, Mexico to assist a local
missionary with taking care of the community. During our trip, we participated in activities with
missionaries such as fence building, a Jesus film, spreading out tracks, Vacation Bible School, and
visiting the Zapotec Ruins on Monte Albán. Finally, after what seemed like forever, the day arrived
for our departure to Mexico. My dad, my sister and myself along with the other members of our
team boarded a small little plane bound for Oaxaca City, Mexico. Prior to my first ever takeoff, I sat
excited and a nervous wreck by the window of the plane. Once we started taxiing down the runway,
I calmed myself down.

Pacifism In Mexico
The Mexican government's past pacifism has enabled cartel strongholds throughout the nation. With
agreements between the Mexican cartels and the PRI ruling political party, extreme violence was
considered under control, in the 1970s through the 1990s (Madrid 2013, 100). However, in a 2015
Congressional Research Service (CSR) report addressing crime and drug trafficking organizations in
Mexico, the document reveals Drug Trafficking Organizations (DTO) are not a new trend, and in
fact have been around for nearly a century (Beittel 2015, 6). The Drug Enforcement Administration
(DEA) in the National Drug Threat Assessment in 2015, lists the Mexican cartels as the greatest
threat to the United States and the largest suppliers of illicit drugs, like methamphetamine, heroin,
cocaine, and marijuana (DEA 2015, 1–2). Moreover, the President's National Security Strategy in
2010, lists transnational criminal organizations as national threats that are continuing to expand in
size, scope and influence (Curran 2015, 348). Described as a global business, DTOs manage the
supply and demand of their products much like a legitimate international business would. However,
DTOs heavily utilize two tools a legitimate business could not, the ability to bribe and use ... Show

Mexico is bordered by the United States on the north, the Pacific Ocean on the west, the Gulf of
Mexico and the Caribbean Sea on the east, and Guatemala and Belize on the south. It is
characterized by an extraordinary diversity in topography and climate and is crossed by two major
mountain chains, the Sierra Madre Occidental and the Sierra Madre Oriental. The high central
plateau between these two mountain ranges historically funneled most of the human population
toward the center of this region. Mexico features volcanic peaks, snow–capped mountains, tropical
rain forests, and internationally famous beaches. Mexico City is an enormous metropolitan area and
dominates the rest of the country's culture, economy, and politics. Nearly ... Show more content on

Much of northwest Mexico–including Baja California and the northern regions of the Pacific Coast
lowlands–is quite arid, receiving less than 130 mm (5 in) of rain per year. The northern Gulf Coast
plains are semiarid, receiving about 250 to 560 mm (about 10 to 22 in) of rainfall annually. As on
the central plateau, rainfall increases toward the south on both the western and eastern coasts.
The tropic of Cancer, which marks the northern limits of the tropics, passes through the southern tip
of Baja California and crosses central Mexico. Much of southern Mexico has a tropical climate with
distinct rainy and dry seasons; the Gulf Coast has more regular and abundant rainfall than the
southern regions of the Pacific Coast. Temperatures in these coastal regions range between 21 and
27°C (70 and 80°F) during the year. Annual rainfall, which generally ranges between 1,500 and
2,000 mm (60 and 80 in), comes mainly during the rainy season of May to October. Mexico's Gulf
Coast is subject to hurricanes that pass through the region and often cause extensive damage.
The northern Yucatán Peninsula is hot and semiarid. Annual rainfall ranges between 500 and 1,000
mm (20 and 40 in). The extreme southern part of Mexico, including the Chiapas Highlands and the
southern regions of the Yucatán

There is also a lack of respect of women and human nature. Mexico's culture has always had women

This causes the citizens to question the government in ways such as where does our tax money go

controversial topic now a days because of Donald Trump being the president. Most of Donald
Trump supporters agree with what he says in that Mexicans should not be living in America. Babies
being born mid–flight is another issue, the question being what nationality are they. This is tied into
the idea of illegal immigrants having babies in the United States and having them become national
born citizens while their parents are not. The morality is that your family should not be deported

The Democracy Of Mexico : Developing A Democracy In Mexico
The Spaniards made what we now know as Mexico into a racially segregated country, where the
Europeans had priority in the casta. The white Caudillos were at the top of the pyramid, while the
middle class, and then the Mexican Campesinos and the Mestizos were on the bottom. Each group
of people worked against each other to try and distinguish themselves from another group. After
Mexico gained its independence and the colonials went back to Spain, Mexico had to find a way to
function as a country on their own. Society, let alone a democracy would not continue to work if all
the racial groups continued to fight against each other. The different groups needed to learn to work
together, which is what complicated Mexico forming a democracy. Colonial, racial, religious, and
economic legacies served as roadblocks to Mexico's independence and ability to establish a lasting
democracy, because Mexicans could no longer compete against one another like they did under
Spanish rule. Even after the Spaniards left Mexico, while the casta was said to be abolished,
fundamental ideas stuck, making it difficult for Mexico to form a democracy. At the top of the
Caste, prior to Mexico gaining its independence, were "Peninsulares," which consisted of people
born in the Iberian Peninsula. Since Hernán Cortés colonized Mexico, he established himself as a
"Caudillo," making himself on top of the casta as well. As a Caudillo, Cortés saw himself as a strong
man, fit to rule alone. The theory of one–man rule can be traced back to the Colonial period. Other
legislative bodies simply went along with the Caudillo's decisions, (Reading Mexico City 1). The
second class citizens were known as "Criollos," which were people born in the Americas. Criollos
had a limit to the amount of power they could attain, preventing them from overthrowing the
Peninsulares. Lastly, the Mestizos were at the bottom of the caste, where there were many varieties
of them, (Reading Mexico City 2). "To Iberians (peninsulares), mixture was generally viewed as
contamination" (20, Reading Mexico City 2). Eventually, the Criollos fought against the
Peninsulares because they wanted more power, while the Mestizos fought against independence.
The Mestizos felt as though the

Mexico Poverty
According to a 2015 study by The Organization for Economic Corporation and Development,
Mexico has one of the highest rates of income inequality in the world which inevitably leads to a
sharp contrast among living conditions, agency, and power between the rich and the poor. Mexican
society has been stratified since the Mexican revolution. The goals of the Mexican revolution were
to disperse wealth but the policies enacted made it difficult to make a living in a rural setting thus
serving as a catalyst for a mass emigration to cities where people were could only find shelter in the
slums
(https://history.libraries.wsu.edu/spring2016/2016/01/20/the–poverty–and–social–stratification–in–
mexico/). After watching the documentary about the One Child Policy in China, a common theme
appears to be that the poorest and most marginalized seem to be those living in rural societies. This
is most likely because generally speaking, the poor are the least educated simply because they
cannot afford it thus resulting in having to hold laborious jobs such as those in agriculture.
The distribution of wealth in Mexico is perhaps the leading cause for the social inequality so
prominent in the country. For the past 25 years the gap between the rich and poor has been steadily
increasing. According to the WEA "the top 1% of Mexico's distribution has an average annual
income 47 times that of the poorest 1%

An experience I've had is a trip to Mexico. I was about 9 years old when I first took a trip to
Mexico. It was also my first time out of the states. I didn't know what to expect from Mexico. I was
so used to the U.S because that's where I've been my whole life and never traveled to a different
country. I was so nervous because I knew that you needed to have some type of documents to come
back to the U.S. I remember my first time coming back; there was always negative things feeding
my mind like what if I couldn't come back? Although, I knew I had all my documents and I
shouldn't worry about not being able to come back but I've had family members before not being

good feeling when you see relatives and friends for the first time in over six years. One of the times
that I also went to Mexico was when my mother went to see a doctor. While she was there, she got
really sick and ended up in the hospital. It was so bad that they told us that she probably wouldn't
make it. It was hard for all of us because we were all so far away from her and we couldn't see her
and the only one with her at the time was my father. My siblings and I decided to take a trip to
Mexico to see her. The trip there took about 3 days because we went on a bus and we had no other
way to make it there. When we arrived, my mom seemed a little better but she was barely able to do
anything. It sucked seeing her like that. She soon got better though. Anyway, when I arrived to
Mexico, I saw a lot of differences; the buildings, the streets, roads, food, how people worked and
how people lived. On my way there, I saw people living in unfinished buildings and tiny houses.

Prohibition In Mexico
Given its geographic location, Mexico has long been used as a staging and transshipment point for
narcotics and contraband between Latin America and U.S. markets. Mexican bootleggers supplied
alcohol to the United States gangsters throughout the duration of the Prohibition in the United
States,[94] and the onset of illegal drug trade with the U.S. began when the prohibition came to an
end in 1933.[94]
Between 1920 and 1933, alcohol was banned in the United States. This law was considered to have
been very difficult to enforce and resulted in the growth of many criminal organizations, including
the modern American Mafia.
Towards the end of the 1960s, Mexican narcotic smugglers started to smuggle drugs on a major
scale.[94]

Mexico : My Experience To Travel To Mexico
First time to Mexico
One of the most common places to tour is Mexico. Many tourists are very attracted to Mexico due to
the culture, history and main attractions. Although Mexico is a very poor country everyone whom
inhabits Mexico works very hard every day to be able to live. I was lucky enough to have the
opportunity to travel to Mexico. For me unlike many tourists it wasn't just to see the attractions but
mainly more about seeing my family and learning more about my culture. I am from Veracruz,
Mexico, I don't remember anything about Veracruz, Mexico, sadly because I moved to United States
at a young age. Travelling and staying a few weeks in Mexico made me realize how much of my
culture I am unware of. I experience the way it feels like to live in Mexico surrounded with culture,
family and food. I can honestly say that this has been a memorable experience for me to have
exigence, nothing can compare this experience that I had.
This past summer my family and I traveled to Mexico for a mini vacation. Although I was born in
Mexico, I moved at the age of 2 therefore I don't remember anything and I am Americanized.
Honestly I had really high hopes on many things but was very disappointed in the end, over all it
was great but the biggest things I can say I did not enjoy was the food. When I traveled back to
Veracruz I honestly expected the food to be a lot better than the Hispanic food in the U.S but I was
disappointed when I tasted the food and realized that it had no

Some farming takes place on the steep mountain coast and much of the gold of the Aztec Empire is
believed to have come from this region.
The Chiapas highlands have great blocklike mountains that rise more than 9,000 feet above sea
level. This region consists of relatively flat surfaces at high attitudes called the tablelands, which are
farmed by Indians who speak Maya and other ancient languages. With irrigation, farmers grow
coffee, fruits, and other crops.
Yucatan Peninsula is a low limestone plateau with no rivers. Limestone dissolves in the water and
rainfall reaches the sea through underground channels dissolved out of the rock. Great pits have
formed where the roofs of these channels have fallen in and these huge pits were sacred wells of the
ancient Mayas Indians. The north part of the region is dry bushland. To the south, the rainfall
increases, and tropical rain forests cover the land.
Climate
The climate of Mexico varies sharply from region to region. Dry conditions exist over the whole
northern border from the Pacific to the Gulf of Mexico and over the north–central region southward
to about 22 degree north latitude. Rainfall gradually increases as you travel farther south from 22
degrees north latitude until the southern most tip of Mexico where there are rainforests.
The northern half of Mexico is usually dry and consists largely of deserts and semideserts. The lack
of rainfall has limited agricultural development in the

* Government Regulations: Mexico is a member of the NAFTA which has opened Mexico up to
more liberal trade agreements, barriers and tax regimes. The NAFTA has also played a net positive
role in stabilising Mexico's macro–economic situation and in laying the foundation for long–term
economic growth (Weiler 2001). Mexico's openness to Foreign Direct Investment indicates that
achieving market entry will be encouraged by the Mexican government lending to limited barriers
for market entry. * The competitive environment – Our main competitors are,

* Cultural distance – The impact that the difference in cultures will have on market entry.

The Spanish Culture In Mexico And The Culture Of Mexico
The culture of Mexico reflects the country's complex history and is the result of the gradual
blending of native culture with Spanish culture and other immigrant cultures. Mexico's culture
revolves around and is most prominent in music, food, and celebrations. The combination of beliefs
and customs creates the unique Mexican culture.
The overwhelming majority of Mexicans today speak Spanish. According to the CIA, Spanish is
spoken by 92.7 percent of the Mexican population. About 6 percent of the population speaks
Spanish as well as indigenous languages, such as Mayan, Nahuatl and other regional languages.
However, the Spanish spoken by Mexicans varies from the traditional Spanish the originated in
Spain. The religion of Mexico is predominantly catholic. Around 82 percent of Mexicans identify
themselves as Catholic, according to the CIA, although many have incorporated pre–Hispanic
Mayan elements as part of their faith. There are also small communities of Muslims, Jews and
Buddhists.
In Mexico, fiestas occur frequently throughout the year as a custom. Mexicans gather on these
holidays to eat dance, take part in parades, and remember historic or religious events. Mexican
Independence Day celebrates the separation of the country from Spain on September 16, 1810.
Another famous celebration is Day of the Dead which is celebrated on the first of November.
Although it may sound scary, this celebration is a cheerful time of remembering friends and family
members who have died.

Mexico : Physical Geography : Mexico
Mexico
Physical Geography: Mexico is a famous country which is located in the southern part of North
America. I went to Cancun in spring 2012. It was an amazing trip. I really enjoyed the nature there.
Most of Mexico 's land is covered by mountains, with only about a third of the land being flat.
Moreover, there are five main areas in Mexico. The first one is The Central Plateau which is located
just south of The United States. It increases in altitude from the north to south from more than 910
m and 2,440 m near the border of United States. Furthermore, approximately half of Mexico 's
population live in this area. The second area is Sierra Madres which consists of three mountains
ending with V shape near the Plateau edge. These mountains are the Sierra Madre del Sur on the
south, the Sierra Madre Occidental on the west, and the Sierra Madre Oriental on the east. The third
area is Chiapas Highlands. The land in this area is high and rough, especially near the Pacific Coast.
The fourth area is Gulf Coastal Plain. The land in this area is low along with the eastern coast. Near
Texas boarder in south, it narrows and almost disappears. The last main area in Mexico is Lower
California–Sonoran Desert. This area consists of the peninsula of Lower California and the Sonoran
Desert. Another physical feature in Mexico is Water. Most of the rivers in Mexico are short and too

aroused by the higher power distance and high uncertainty avoidance feature of Mexican culture, we

United States were fighting over Mexican to reclaim Texas to be part of the country. In July 1845, John L. O'Sullivan feels like the US should annexing Texas and California (Doc A Para 1). He thought that the Mexicans were dumb because they didn't have any government authority over a country. The Mexico wanted to expand their lands. The invasion took place in April 24th when sixteen American were killed and wounded (Doc B Para 4). The argument is Americans justified in going to war with Mexico. The United States was justified in going to war with Mexico because territory, slaves, and invasion. The territory was an issue with the United States and Mexico. In Doc A Para 1, it quotes "It is time for opposition to the Annexation of Texas to cease. Texas is now ours." It probably indicates that Texas is now part of the United States. The Mexican were Catholic and wanted the Texas under control. People began moving into Texas (Doc D Para 2). The location of the Sabine RIver is between Louisiana and Texas so people in the United States were moving into Texas. The most likely people coming into Texas from their state would be California. California had white people moving into the state. (Doc A Para 3) America was losing people. • 5. Trafficking In Mexico Since 2006, Mexico has rapidly climbed the list of potential trouble spots for U.S. policy makers (Brands, May 2009). Exportation of drugs is a huge problem on top of the cartel violence the drugs were still getting out of Mexico into the U.S. The strategy narcotics analyst showed that 90 percent of cocaine was smuggled through Mexico alone. The Congressional Research Report concluded that for almost four decades Mexico has been among the most important producers and suppliers of heroin, marijuana and later methamphetamine to the U.S. market (Beithel, 2009). Drug trafficking in Mexico has claimed thousands of lives both from civilians and government officials which seems like a war with no victims and a never ending battle. Regardless of Calderon's ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Which as highlighted above as drug related violence, corruption and extremely high exportation levels out of Mexico. These issues have ultimately had negative impacts on Mexico as a state as these issues have broken down the legitimacy of the government itself. Despite the efforts to combat these issues , specifically in reference to Felipe Calderon , although he had seen it as a win on the war on drugs , from the research this clearly was not so. There is no doubt that Mexico have tried to fight the drug ring in the initiatives that were put in place however it is seen that these issues were combatted with more violence. As stated the Merida Initiative was a step in the right direction as Mexico could not have combatted this on their own. A Latin American Analyst stated in an article written in 2009 that the Merida Initiative was designed to combat a problem that was shared by both countries and contributing by both countries to fight (Beithel, 2009). Which is a very well portrayed fact as U.S. is just as much to blame for the impacts on Mexican Sovereignty than the Mexican state itself. The impacts of these issues have broken down the system where citizens are now finding it hard to cope with the violence and feel that the government are not getting to the true root of the problem. • 7. Bunker Mexico What is also intriguing about Bunker's study of Mexico is that the changes that were being accepted by the Mexican population were very often complete contradictions to what was considered traditionally Mexican. Not only does this stand in complete opposition to what was seen in Karush's Argentina, but in Mexico the "constant reworking of consumer goods and the texts used to sell them... generated the cultural meaning that provided an identity for both the self and the world around them."(Bunker 97) Once again, Mexico and Argentina could not be any different when seen through the lens of Consumer Culture and Culture of Class. The strict devotion of the government in Argentina to keep hold of traditional ways of life were mirrored in Mexico by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Each author in his or her own way masterfully employs images in order to better support their overall claims. Within her text, Workers Go Shopping, Milanesio expertly employs multiple photos of Argentinians moving about their daily lives to illustrate how the importation of western culture so greatly affected the emerging middle, and working–class consumers. This gives great backing to her thesis of how the emerging working–class so greatly affected the transformation of Argentina into a modern 20th century nation. Photos of the Argentinian people enjoying modern luxuries like dance halls and vacations to the beach, are accompanied by advertisements from magazines and street billboards which further illuminate the consumer culture which had engulfed the nation by mid– century. Milanesio also employs images to illustrate how the importation of western culture also propagated gender roles for not only women, but men as well. Documents taken directly from Argentinian media of the day can be seen encouraging women to aspire for beauty, but also submissiveness. The propagation of the housewife myth, visible here in the Argentinian media, was a very prevalent force in the society of the United States at this time and can be assumed to have been heavily influenced by their neighbors to the north. Ads directed to women for sewing machines and kitchen appliances were mirrored by ones pointed to men which embedded ideals of masculinity and hard work. These advertisements not only encouraged an overall image of what Argentinian people should aspire to, but also expanded the consumer market, thereby promoting consumerism. These photographs of Argentinians enjoying the newfound luxuries of modernity and consumer society gives great backing to Milanesio's thesis of how the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Chapo In Mexico This event is about El Chapo being recaptured and decided to be extradited into U.S. prison with confirmation of Mexico and United States working together to compromise the deal. El Chapo will be charged with multiple charges such as possession of weapons, drug trafficking, and organized crimes; due to the fail attempts of the Mexican authorities keeping El Chapo from escaping authorities. El Chapo has escaped in 2001 by using a laundry cart to escape, and also a underground tunnel back in July of 2015. Mexico decided that El Chapo should be extradited to prevent flaws of attempts in their security. Not only has El Chapo make Mexico look bad but he has gained United States attention of the multiple escapes; they are trying to prevent El Chapo from getting his help from his cartel and people who is on his payroll. During confrontation United States has now videotape evidence of multiple convictions and evidence to be extradited also. Mexican attorney general's office is also taking advancements of moving towards this extradition forward so El Chapo Guzman can face the multiple charges upfront in United States soil where they can seize him from leaving authorities again. Media is also once again having a toll on this event as they have been covering El Chapo's steps ever since he came into custody. Mexico has two mountain ranges that are extensions of the Rocky Mountains from northern North America. Mexico has a federal republic and a free market economy where the prices of good and services are determined in a free price system. They are quite easy to do business with in the world, being 47th out of 188 countries. Mexico has a population of over 129 million people and the growth rate in 2017 is 1.27%, which is actually 50% lower than it was in 1980. With so many people being born each year, more and more areas are becoming populated, and there is no room to really grow. This was a factor of why my friend Emilio Yepez moved from Mexico. Him and his family knew that there could be a better life in the United States rather than staying and living in Mexico due to the socio–economic gap that is very wide, and the fact that rural areas are often neglected in Mexico. There is also thousands of people who die due to gang related violence. There are powerful cartels that control the drug trafficking in South America to the US. Mexico has rampant gang violence, corruption within the government and it is also a weak state with little authority. The Hofstede's Cultural Values are very interesting to compare to the United States. It is home to over 119 million people and growing, making it the most populated Spanish speaking country in the world. The Country of Mexico is made up of 31 states and 1 Federal District. Although it is so populated, it only has one metropolis: Mexico City. Mexico City is the most populated city in all of Mexico. The most highly dense populated cities in Mexico will mostly be found in the south or "waist" of the country, due to its climate. Mexico 's climate is very different depending on whether one wants to visit the north or the south of the country. In North Mexico, it is very dry and hot with rugged mountains like the Sierra Madre Occidental that goes west and the Sierra Madre Oriental that goes East of the country. On the North west just below the state of California, is the Baja California which translates to "Below California" and right beneath Baja California is Baja California Sur which can be translated into "Lower California South." These two states make up one of the two peninsulas in Mexico. Moving down to south Mexico, the climate changes from hot, dry and desert–like to tropical and humid. This is the most populated part of the country because people can grow crops and provide for their families and find jobs and make a living. • 17. The Jesuits In Mexico The arrival of the Jesuits in Mexico occurred after a failed attempt at the Florida Mission. Cushner describes the area of concentration of the Jesuits as the Four Rivers of Sinaloa (Cushner, 49). For the Spanish crown, conversion was the way to expand economic interests, not to mention the acquisition of new land. The Jesuits began working with the Chichimeca Indians, which led to a bloody, drawn– out conflict called the Chichimeca War of 1550 –1590 (Cushner, 50). According to William Bangert, In Mexico, by 1600, the Jesuits had contacted the Chichimeca Indians and were successful in transforming them from "migrants and warriors" into "villagers and farmers" (Bangert, 165). Bangert further asserts that it was Gonzalo de Tapia, described ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As a result of an earlier conflict with the Spanish settlers regarding mining for precious metals, the Indians were weary of the Jesuit missionaries. As such, the Jesuits insisted that they were different. They told the Indians, "We have not come for gold or the silver that's buried in your land. We have not come to make slaves of you and take your wives and children. You see only two of us, alone, unarmed. We have come only to tell you about the creator of heaven and earth. Without knowledge of him you will be unhappy forever (Cushner, 52)." After spending time with the Indians, the Indians saw that the Jesuits could be trusted. What was it that enlisted this trust? The Jesuits learned the language, carried no arquebus, demanded no corn or food but spoke only of Virigeva, the Eternal God (Cushner, 52)." The Jesuit missionaries came to accept or tolerate many of the Indian customs and beliefs with the exception of drunkenness. "The Spanish considered drunkenness a form of induced insanity and thereby contrary to the natural order of things (Cushner, 53)." These villages then became the focus of evangelization. Examples Of Inequality In Mexico The fact that Mexico is a highly unequal country is a well–known fact at least since Alexander Von Humboldt's definition of the region then known as New Spain. Von Humboldt indeed, a botanical geographer that travelled in Latin America at the beginning of the nineteenth century, defines the region as "the country of inequality". Unfortunately, this is still true in the twenty–first century. Inequality in Mexico is more pronounced compared to Latin America's average. In fact, it ranks 4th in the world, falling behind only South Africa, Honduras and Brazil (CIA World Factbook). Moreover, more than 55 million people in the country, which accounts for more than half of the population, still live in poor conditions. How did Mexico become 'the country of inequality'? According to Juan Carlos Moreno–Brid, Deputy Director of the ECLAC (Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean), Mexico was already unequal in Pre–Hispanic times. Unquestionably, inequality dramatically spread out during the 300 years of Spain's colonial reign. When the Spanish conquistadors arrived in Mexico in 1519, they surprisingly found relatively advanced agriculture–based communities and a population of almost 25 million indigenous. (College of Agricultural and Life Sciences 2014) Nonetheless, by the early seventeenth century, the native population of Mexico had been reduced from about 25 million to fewer than 1 million. It was the worst demographic collapse in human history. As Mexico appeared to be the most thriving of Spain's colonial possessions, Spain decided to rule the colony with an iron fist. Indeed, colonial viceroys were pure dictators and corruption was at the order of the day in the colonial administration. (O'Neil ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

My Experience In Mexico : My Journey To Mexico As we sat on the burning concrete, utter chaos on every side, and a stench so strong some people covered their mouths with rags, one would naturally feel inclined to be despondent. Even with these circumstances, however, an overwhelming joy manifested itself inside of my heart. When I considered the immense benefits and opportunities that I took for granted in The United States, I knew that I had to help these people in any way that I could. As a result, I poured myself into loving those around me in the limited time that I had in Mexico. Despite my extremely low knowledge of the Spanish language and inexperience in the mission field, by the end of the trip, I felt as though I had left the community that we served in better than it was when we arrived. Almost four years ago, my church provided me with the amazing chance to fly to Oaxaca City, Mexico to assist a local missionary with taking care of the community. During our trip, we participated in activities with missionaries such as fence building, a Jesus film, spreading out tracks, Vacation Bible School, and visiting the Zapotec Ruins on Monte Albán. Finally, after what seemed like forever, the day arrived for our departure to Mexico. My dad, my sister and myself along with the other members of our team boarded a small little plane bound for Oaxaca City, Mexico. • 45. The Democracy Of Mexico : Developing A Democracy In Mexico The Spaniards made what we now know as Mexico into a racially segregated country, where the Europeans had priority in the casta. The white Caudillos were at the top of the pyramid, while the middle class, and then the Mexican Campesinos and the Mestizos were on the bottom. Each group of people worked against each other to try and distinguish themselves from another group. After Mexico gained its independence and the colonials went back to Spain, Mexico had to find a way to function as a country on their own. Society, let alone a democracy would not continue to work if all the racial groups continued to fight against each other. The different groups needed to learn to work together, which is what complicated Mexico forming a democracy. Colonial, racial, religious, and economic legacies served as roadblocks to Mexico's independence and ability to establish a lasting democracy, because Mexicans could no longer compete against one another like they did under Spanish rule. Even after the Spaniards left Mexico, while the casta was said to be abolished, fundamental ideas stuck, making it difficult for Mexico to form a democracy. At the top of the Caste, prior to Mexico gaining its independence, were "Peninsulares," which consisted of people born in the Iberian Peninsula. Since Hernán Cortés colonized Mexico, he established himself as a "Caudillo," making himself on top of the casta as well. As a Caudillo, Cortés saw himself as a strong man, fit to rule alone. The theory of one–man rule can be traced back to the Colonial period. Other legislative bodies simply went along with the Caudillo's decisions, (Reading Mexico City 1). The second class citizens were known as "Criollos," which were people born in the Americas. Criollos had a limit to the amount of power they could attain, preventing them from overthrowing the Peninsulares. Lastly, the Mestizos were at the bottom of the caste, where there were many varieties of them, (Reading Mexico City 2). "To Iberians (peninsulares), mixture was generally viewed as contamination" (20, Reading Mexico City 2). Eventually, the Criollos fought against the Peninsulares because they wanted more power, while the Mestizos fought against independence. The Mestizos felt as though the ... • 47. Mexico Poverty According to a 2015 study by The Organization for Economic Corporation and Development, Mexico has one of the highest rates of income inequality in the world which inevitably leads to a sharp contrast among living conditions, agency, and power between the rich and the poor. Mexican society has been stratified since the Mexican revolution. The goals of the Mexican revolution were to disperse wealth but the policies enacted made it difficult to make a living in a rural setting thus serving as a catalyst for a mass emigration to cities where people were could only find shelter in the slums (https://history.libraries.wsu.edu/spring2016/2016/01/20/the–poverty–and–social–stratification–in– mexico/). After watching the documentary about the One Child Policy in China, a common theme appears to be that the poorest and most marginalized seem to be those living in rural societies. This is most likely because generally speaking, the poor are the least educated simply because they cannot afford it thus resulting in having to hold laborious jobs such as those in agriculture. The distribution of wealth in Mexico is perhaps the leading cause for the social inequality so prominent in the country. For the past 25 years the gap between the rich and poor has been steadily increasing. According to the WEA "the top 1% of Mexico's distribution has an average annual income 47 times that of the poorest 1% (https://www.worldeconomicsassociation.org/newsletterarticles/inequality–in–mexico/). The Chiapas highlands have great blocklike mountains that rise more than 9,000 feet above sea level. This region consists of relatively flat surfaces at high attitudes called the tablelands, which are farmed by Indians who speak Maya and other ancient languages. Limestone dissolves in the water and rainfall reaches the sea through underground channels dissolved out of the rock. Great pits have formed where the roofs of these channels have fallen in and these huge pits were sacred wells of the ancient Mayas Indians. The north part of the region is dry bushland. To the south, the rainfall increases, and tropical rain forests cover the land. Climate The climate of Mexico varies sharply from region to region. Rainfall gradually increases as you travel farther south from 22 degrees north latitude until the southern most tip of Mexico where there are rainforests. It was an amazing trip. I really enjoyed the nature there. Most of Mexico 's land is covered by mountains, with only about a third of the land being flat. Moreover, there are five main areas in Mexico. The first one is The Central Plateau which is located just south of The United States. It increases in altitude from the north to south from more than 910 m and 2,440 m near the border of United States. Furthermore, approximately half of Mexico 's population live in this area. These mountains are the Sierra Madre del Sur on the south, the Sierra Madre Occidental on the west, and the Sierra Madre Oriental on the east. The third area is Chiapas Highlands. The land in this area is high and rough, especially near the Pacific Coast. The fourth area is Gulf Coastal Plain. The land in this area is low along with the eastern coast. Near Texas boarder in south, it narrows and almost disappears. The last main area in Mexico is Lower California–Sonoran Desert.
