Effective, solid and superior programs in
educational leadership are essential in all
aspects in the management of teaching,
learning, and scholarship.
It is clear that there is a need for
unquestionably exceptional guidance for
our children, our students, and the future
of our society as a whole
The following proposal outlines a fully
online program in Educational
Leadership that incorporates
technological advancements in online
learning .
• Large numbers of public schools are
perceived as failing. Many of the issues
are directed toward educational leaders.
• In the state of Florida there are 3,629
public K-12 schools.
Of the 10,176 graduate student at the
University of South Florida, only 167 are
enrolled in Educational Leadership
program.
• Well prepared educational leaders are
needed to ensure the success of
education
• The demographics of a graduate student
with career and family obligations make
it difficult to attend courses on campus.
• Online programs make up 30% of all
post – secondary education enrollments.
• By 2015 this number will increase to
37%

Course structure and content is very
important to creating a program. Creating
a complete an effective course will add to
the overall achievement of the program.

• Active learning activities
• Provide frequent and prompt feedback to
learners
Comprehensive Portfolio including:
• Professional Profile
• Letter of Application or Interest
• Resume
• Student’s Leadership Philosophy
• Transcripts and Certifications
• Letters of Recommendation and
samples of excellent graduate work
A follow up electronic evaluation will be
sent to course graduates six months after
graduation to quantify return on
investment. The electronic evaluations will
ascertain whether students found the
portfolio useful to their existing or future
career aspirations.
• Students will be notified at the beginning
of the course in an online syllabus of
equipment or technology required to
participate.
• The university will ensure students have
library access.
• Links to web support , phone and e-mail
contact information for technical issues
will be provided to students.
• Students are notified at the beginning of the
course of plagiarism software used by the
instructor.
• Instructors and students will review university
policies on fair use, copyright law, and
plagiarism.
Students in need of academic
accommodations for a disability will be
directed to the Office of Services for
Students with Disabilities to arrange
appropriate accommodations.

  • 8. Of the 10,176 graduate student at the University of South Florida, only 167 are enrolled in Educational Leadership program.
  • 9. • Well prepared educational leaders are needed to ensure the success of education • The demographics of a graduate student with career and family obligations make it difficult to attend courses on campus.
  • 10. • Online programs make up 30% of all post – secondary education enrollments. • By 2015 this number will increase to 37%
