EMAIL MARKETING
Email Marketing is direct marketing
a commercial message to a group of
people using email.
E-mail marketing can be:
•Promotional emails sent to encourage potential customers to buy a product
or service or convince current customers to keep buying
•Regularly sent e-mails meant to strengthen the relationship between the
business and the customers and encourage loyalty to a product or service.
Eg: ebooks, free course, video training, coupons, contest, newsletter,
webinars, demo etc.
•Advertisements for a product or service that are placed in e-mails sent by
other people or companies (typically found in “banners” above or to the side
of the e-mail's body of text)
Benefits of Email Marketing
• Email Marketing Increases Brand Awareness
When a customer needs products or services, your business stands a much
better chance of turning those leads into clients and clients into loyal
customers.
• Email Marketing is Easily Shareable.
With the simple click of the forward button, subscribers can share your deals,
offers and news with their friends.
• Email Marketing is Measurable
Analytics are indispensable to measuring the success of any campaign. Use
your email marketing campaign as a tool to monitor which information your
consumers are most responsive to.
Benefits Of Email Marketing
• It help us to build a relationship on personal
level.
• No one can restrict reaching your audience
with emails (unlike fb pages)
• Email marketing has immense automation
capabilities.
How Email Marketing Works?
• When a client wants to send an email.
• Then request is send to SMTP(Simple Mail Transfer Protocol).
• Then the DNS(Domain Name services) will be checked.
• DNS is the database which contains all host address and IP
address.
• Then MTA will find the destination address and put mail on to
client.
What is Gmail’s Daily Limit on Sending Email?
• You can send emails to a maximum of 500 recipients per day
through the Gmail website. If you are a Google Apps for Work
user, your daily limit is 10000 email recipients per day.
• If the limit is exceeded, Gmail account may get temporarily
disabled with the error – “Gmail Lockdown in Section 4.
• Thus you can send 10 emails with 50 recipients each or 1
email can be addressed to a maximum of 500 people.
TYPES OF EMAIL MARKETING
Legit Email Marketing
• Collect emails with permission of users.
• Building list of users for promotion of business.
IIEGIT Email Marketing
• You buy a list and send bulk emails.
EXAMPLE
• Let's say you've developed a new energy drink you're excited about,
and you want people to get excited about it and buy it.
• After writing a quick, flashy paragraph about the drink and typing
out a vague subject line, you search the Web for as many e-mail
addresses as you can find -- the more people who receive your
message, the more potential you have at making more money.
• Sounds easy, right? Unfortunately, not only will people probably
identify your message as spam or an e-mail marketing scam and
delete it, you might even be breaking the law.
• One of the most important concepts in e-mail marketing is that
ofpermission -- a business must receive a customer's authorization
before sending out any promotional e-mails.
• If a person receives an e-mail from a business that he never
requested, chances are that e-mail is considered spam.
Difference Btw OPT-IN LIST and Double-opt-in list
•Email addresses on a (single) opt-in list are not confirmed. Anybody can
submit anybody's address to the list, and it will be there until it is
unsubscribed.
•On a double opt-in list, all email address must be confirmed before they are
added. A request for confirmation is sent to the submitted address and the
address owner must take some action to confirm that she is the owner of the
email address, the address is working and she indeed wants to subscribe.
•Most often, the confirmation action is as simple as replying to the
confirmation request or clicking on a link.
Methods to send email in indox rather than spam
• Step 1: Open settings
• Step 2: Click on Filter and blocked Address
• Step 3: Click on Create a new filter
• Step 4: Type email id just below Filter From when
you are done typing email id ……click on create filter
with this search
• Step 5: Select “Never send it to spam”
• Step 6: Click on Create filter
Tips so that email will not land in spam
•Avoid using words like money, won, coupons, offer (You should
use these words in images).
•Do not use all capital letters in your subject line/body line
•Include less links and more words>> Sales email: 3 links works
the best. Short email: 1 link.
• Always include unsubscribe button in the footer of email.
• Don’t buy any email list
• Add your sender email to contact list
