US president, in fact the
youngest ever to take
office prior to John F.
Kennedy.

3. He was also the lieutenant
colonel who lead the
Rough Rider Regiment in
the Spanish-American War.

4. He was the guy who loved
to say, "Speak softly and
carry a big stick…"

5. He also recognized the
strategic need for the
Panama Canal and made
that happen.

6. He won the Nobel Peace
Prize for mediating the
Russo-Japanese War.

7. He expanded and protected
conservation in the US by creating
national parks and forests in the
West, reserved lands for public use,
and fostered massive irrigation
projects.

relationship between
fearlessness and vulnerability.
In his 1920 speech he
delivered at the Sorbonne, he
said:

9. "It is not the critic who counts; not
the man who points out how the
strong man stumbles, or where
the doer of deeds could have
done better. The credit belongs to
the man who is actually in the
arena, whose face is marred by
dust and sweat and blood;

10. who strived valiantly; who
errs, who comes again and
again, because there is no
effort without error and
shortcoming

strive to do the deeds; who
knows great enthusiasms,
the great devotions; who
spends himself in a worthy
