IEEE-CEC is known for continuing its legacy of achievements consistently for over a decade. 2006
• Awarded the Best Student Branch Award of IEEE Kerala Section.
• Jaison Abey Sabu was awarded the outstanding student volunteer award of IEEE
Kerala Section for the second year consecutively.
• Mrs Nisha Kuruvilla was awarded the Outstanding Student Branch Counselor
Award from IEEE headquarters.
• Started an IEEE Computer Society Club in the college.
• Jaison Abey Sabu was selected as the Student Representative of Kerala Section
and Secretary of IEEE LINK
• Mr. Githin F. Alapatt received second prize in a technical essay writing
competition organized by IEEE Circuits and Devices Magazine.
2005
• Conducted the inauguration of the IEEE “Center of Excellence” by IEEE
President Mr. Cleon Anderson at Mascot Hotel, Trivandrum.
• Prijoe Philips Komattu, Chairman of the Student Branch was awarded the “Larry
K. Wilson Award”.
• Prijoe Philips Komattu was student representative of Kerala Section for two
consecutive years.
• The WIE Affinity Group received the “Chapter of the year” award.
• Ten students from the branch were awarded outstanding student volunteer award
of Kerala Section.
• Organized South India level SPAC Summit 05 with one of the largest
participations from Kerala.
2004
• Inception of the IEEE Women in Engineering Affinity Group for the first time in
Region 10, on 7th
February 2004.
• Awarded the IEEE Center of Excellence Award, for the first time in India and
third in Asia-Pacific Region.
• Envisioning and Formation of LINK (Local Integrated Network of Kerala), with
the motto bringing together various student branches in central Kerala and

• Holding the post of the Student Representative to the Executive Committee of
Kerala Section for the past several years.
• Three Students from the college were chosen to represent the Kerala Section for
the Region 10 Student Congress held at Honk Kong in July 2004.
• Organized Elixir 2004 - All Kerala SPAVe
2003
• Developed IEEE Student Branch Website . Won fifth prize in Region 10(Asia
Pacific) in 2002 and awarded ‘certificate for exemplary work’ in 2003.
• Completed Project on Robotics.
• Launching of the IEEE Robotics Initiative (IRI).
• Organized STAC 2003 (Student Technical Awareness Congress).
2002
• Region 10 Student Congress was attended by Dipu Jose, Vice Chairman in
Singapore.
• Co - organized SUMMIT 2002 (South India Technical Symposium), organized by
the college.
2001
• Conducted SPAVe 2001 (Student Professional Awareness Venture ),
• Student members attended IEEE National Congress and Technical Symposium.
2000
• Awarded Best Student Branch in Kerala Section.

• Established the IEEE Student Branch Library with 39 journals and 23
