Best Practices for Implementing an External Recruiting Partnership
Friday april 12th
1. Agenda: Friday, April 12th
1) Warm-up – 10 min
2) Finish “Unit Briefs” Notes – 10 min
3) Finish “Motion” Notes – 20 min
4) Study for practice CST – 10 min
5) Practice CST – 1 hour
* No homework, but notebooks will be collected
st
on the day you take your Science CST's. (1
notebook check grades are up)
2. Warm-up
Only a few days before the CST's!
Think back to the poster presentations that your
peers gave. Answer the following questions in
your notebook.
1) What was something new that you learned
from the presentations?
2) What is something that you still have a
question about?
3) Answer in 3 or more sentences: What is your
favorite animal and why?
3. We will now finish the notes on “The Importance
of Carbon”, “Acids and Bases”, and “Solar
Systems”.
6. In physics, we use the term velocity to describe
an object in motion. Velocity describes how fast
and in what direction an object is moving.
7. Velocity has two parts: Speed, which tells us how
fast the object is moving, and Direction, which tells
us which way the object is moving.
I realize you guys didn't know this before the quiz,
that question will not count toward your quiz grade.
8. Average speed tells us how fast an object was
moving, on average, from start to finish.
Average speed is TOTAL DISTANCE divided by
TOTAL TIME. Avg. Speed = D/T
9. If you knew the average speed of an object, and
the total time it was in motion, could you find the
distance it traveled?
Average speed = distance / time
Distance = Average speed x time
Time = Distance / average speed
10. A graph showing speed will give you information
on the distance, time, and speed of an object.
Answer in notes
How far did the bus
travel in 3 hours?
How many hours did i
take to travel 80km?
What was the bus'
average speed?
11. Use these next ten minutes to study for your
practice CST. We will take it as if it was the real
test. There will be 44 questions and you will have
an hour to complete it.
It will be wise to study the notes on “Importance of
Carbon”, “Acids and Bases”, and “Solar Systems”
because this is the newest thing you learned.
