Utilizes open-ended questions to get all
opinions to uncover hidden issues and reveal
personal agendas
Though task-oriented, consultative
communication honours the relationships
between employees and employers

style:
(a) the speaker supplies background
information
(b) the listener participates

7. FORMAL STYLE
Used in formal settings is one-way
in nature
Use of language usually follows a
commonly accepted format
Use formal words and expression
Most often seen in writing than
speaking

sentences with specific word wage
Slang terminologies are avoided
Used in speaking to medium to large
group or may used in single hearers-
strangers, older persons, professional
9. FROZEN STYLE
Usually used in formal settings
It is the most formal style of
communication wherein the audience is
not allowed to raise questions to the
speaker
It is a style of communication that
almost never changes
