The OSU K-12 Chinese Flagship Program was founded in 2006 to assist in creating Chinese language programs in Ohio schools through developing curricula and providing teacher support. Its role includes integrating college-level instructional materials into high school Chinese programs, creating lesson plans, and offering training to help high school teachers adopt the OSU curriculum. The adopted curriculum is a four volume first-year Chinese set from OSU that includes audio and interactive materials, with one volume covering each year of study. After three years using this curriculum, high school students may test into the second year Chinese course at OSU. The program staffs teachers licensed in the OSU methodology and teaching assistants familiar with the pedagogy to provide consistent instruction and
