SUBJECT : International Conference of Public Librarians and Book Distribution
In the interest of the service and with the aim of uplifting librarianship, the National
Commission for Culture and the Arts – National Committee on Library and Information
Services (NCCANCLIS), the National Library of the Philippines (NLP), in cooperation with
the Association of Librarians in Public Sector (ALPS), Inc. and Cebu Public Librarians
Association (CPLA), will conduct a 3day International Conference of Public Librarians on
March 1921, 2014 at the Sarrosa International Hotel and Residential Suites, F. Cabahug
St., Ayala Access Road, Kasambagan, Cebu City. The theme of the activity is “The Role of
Libraries in Serving Differentlyabled Persons (DAPs).” The objectives of the conference
are: 1) to raise awareness and understanding about DAPs, 2). to learn the best practices
in libraries and its role in serving DAPs globally, regionally and adapt them to libraries in
the Philippines, 3) to know the status of library services for DAPs in the country, and 4) to
serve as venue for discussing local and international legislations concerning DAPs.
All public librarians and other interested librarians are enjoined and invited to
participate in this activity. The Conference fee is Php 3,500.00 inclusive of am/pm snacks
and lunches. Payments may be made by cash or check payable to:

For hotel accommodation, participants are advised to make direct arrangements
with hotel management and other hotels in the vicinity. (See attached preliminary list)
It is understood that all expenses relevant to this activity shall be borne by their local
government units and other institutions, subject to availability of funds and the usual
accounting and auditing rules and regulations.
