2. • For our media video we have considered
adding a coloured filter on top of the footage
as this can help create atmosphere.
• Vance Joy use a yellow filter in their ‘Rip Tide’
music video and this helps to fit in with the
1960s/70s time period.
3. The Original Photo
I decided to take a relevant photo to test the
filters on.
As the song is called ‘The Sound’ we are going to
have lots of clips which relate to music e.g.; an
iPod, head phones and playing record, etc.
5. Orange
Adding an orange
filter makes the
footage much
warmer and
when filming
people it can help
smooth out their
skin tones.
6. Red
Red again makes
the footage look
a lot warmer and
could be used as
a way of
suggesting love
between the
people in the
footage.
7. Pink
A pink colour
filter can be
used to show
happiness as
it can help
illuminate
the
photographs
as well as
symbolizing
compassion.
8. Purple
Purple can make
the footage look a
bit darker and
more mysterious
atmosphere. This
could be a filter
we could use
nearer the end of
the music video as
the video will get
progressively
darker.
9. Dark Blue
The darker blue
gives the footage a
cooler atmosphere.
Dark blue
symbolizes loyalty
and confidence and
this could be used
as the footage
begins to get
darker.
10. Light Blue
A light blue filter
makes the picture
look really cool
toned and creates
a cool. The
symbolism of
blue suggests
peace and
serenity. This
might be a good
filter to used at
the beginning of
the music video
where the
footage is going
to be bright,
happy and
colourful.
11. Green
The green
colour make
the footage
look bright and
fresh. Green
can be used to
represent
ambition and
greed or
jealousy.
12. Saturation
Turning up the saturation on the
photo makes the colours in the
picture much more vibrant and
bright. I think this is something we
could play around with in our
music video as the colours in the
water will be much brighter and
more colourful and this can make
it more interesting to look at.
