4. he song me and my group has chosen is “Love is a losing game”.
It is a song in soul genre and it is owned by Island Records
Soul is a genre originated
in United States in late 1950s.
The genre is represented by Aretha Franklin,
Ray Charles and Temptations.
Soul music was the most famous music movement at it’s time, but now it is not so popular and is listened mostly
by niche audience.
We’ve chosen the Island Records, because they support similar artists, such as Florence And The Machine.
This is useful, because they can appeal to our artist niche market, while still having experience when appealing to
a mass market. This gives our artist the tools to appeal to the largest market as is possible.
Island Records is a subsidiary of a bigger company, and that what we need.
For our advertising we need to start from the small label and moving on to the marketing on a higher levels.

9. Performance,narrative and thematic elements
The whole music video is set within a casino in the 1940s-1950s. Our artist is a singer in
the casino and is on stage in the background while the gambling is taking place. The whole
video is in black and white to make it appear to be older, however with every game being
played, there is one card/chip/block of a board is red. This symbolises that winning with
that card is like winning the jackpot that is love, showing how unlikely it is to be successful.
Amongst the gamblers there is a very wealthy man, who has piles of red chips and cards
stacked high, however as the video progresses, he gambles all of it away which shows
how easily love can be lost.
10. Ideas for key individual shots/scenes
There would be lots of shots throughout it
of closeups of poker games and roulette
tables with only one red card or one red
block which it could land on.
These shots could have close ups of those
games being almost won, however lost
ever so closely.
One of the shots would be of a deck of
cards falling but then flipping to the front of
the screen would be the red ace of hearts.
