PREFACE
The computer world has undergone a revolution since the invention of C# .NET
MVC language. C# .NET MVC is called High Level Language. Our project
word has been designed in c# .NET MVC .
The project “Online Insurance Broker Portal” handle tasks at the single
instruction of the user with done so much effort. The approach of project
designing is very simple, lucid and comprehensive, which results in a very
sophisticated project. We hope that our project will work very easily and
efficient. We do our best to complete this project.
Today’s commercial world is built around money. Every commercial transaction
needs to be supported using a financial transaction. Traditional procedure for
maintaining, records using Ledgers, Day Book etc. is very timer consuming and
may lead to error if not performed carefully.
Keeping in mind that today in Insurance Broking House world is built around
management, and all the systems going on computerized, so I have made an effort
automate the Insurance Broking House System by developing a small package.
“OIBP” is developed using C# .NET MVC, Entity Framework 6.0 and
Sql Server 2014. C# .NET MVC is used as front-end for the following
reason:
* C#.NET MVC is flexible Easy to find in terms of separations.
* C# .NET supports has Common Language
Report (CLR) feature.
* Structured programming language
The Project has used SQL SERVER 2014 as back-end for database
management. SQL SERVER provides more handy and safe database management
tools.

INTRODUCTION
About The Project :
Online Insurance Broker Portal is the important and hence are an
integral part of the every Insurance Brokers. Today a Every Insurance Brokers
plays a vital role in Insurance, Claim and management related actions.
The project entitled “Online Insurance Broker Portal” is and effort
towards designing an information system that would provide most of the
requirements of a managing the Insurance Brokers efficiently.
The project has been designed using the Sql Server 2014 Database
Management System. Sql Server 2014 is an RDBMS, It uses the relational we
have used the concept of the relations to stored and manipulate the data of the
information system.
Physically these relations have been stored in form of the tables.
Corresponding to each entitle and the relationships we have a database table.
These tables contain the columns as the fields of table. Further, each column have
some attributes such as data types, size, default values etc. which defines and
validate the data.
In the design “Online Insurance Broker Portal” we have exploited the
rich facilities (tools) of c#.NET MVC. C#.NET MVC is Microsoft’s strategic
language for Rapid Application Development (RAD) and its also have feature of
Common Language Runtime(CLR). It is easy to use, efficient, flexible and more
powerful for developing a Database related programming as well as Net
programming.
I prefer this language because one can build a Windows program
quicker and with less effort with C#.NET MVC than with any other programming
8
language. It’s is natural language for building database applications, owing to the
level and sophistication of the tools included with the language.
We have used C#.NET MVC for designing the data entry screens
corresponding to each table. These forms have been further customized using the
toolstrip button, option button, datagrid, Datetime picker and functions to provide
the functionality to make them as user friendly and easy to use as possible. We
are providing the data retrieval and the data manipulation task a matter by
clicking the desire buttons and the result of the task mentioned on button would
be displayed on the screen.
We designed reports that would request the users parameter and
provide the result based on the query define the data model of the report and the
parameter passed by the users.
These objectives have been achieved using the form. Various forms
have been used to design the screen and these screens have been used along with
the coded buttons to integrate objects.

OBJECTIVES
The main objective of the project entitled “Online Insurance Broker Portal” is
to facilitate reliable, fast and easy information of Customer, Insurance Details,
Employee Entry,Vehicle Entry with Day book on single keystroke. In this I am
trying to facilitates the Insurance Brokers services of the Management System is
fully computerized.
The main objective of my project is to reduce complexities to traditional work
and facilitate them through computerized services. The primary goal behind the
development of the “Online Insurance Broker Portal” CRM is to improve the
quality of the work in the online Insurance purchase policy .It increases the
Easiness and maintain the records of staffs and customers leads.
The secondary goals was to achieve better and efficient output in less amount of
time, and finally to increase the profits.
There is also a mechanism of quick detail of every customers with their lead
information generation and 24x7 call support. Management of Insurance
Services is main objective in this project. Everything has been automatised for
this purpose. A paperless office will be there. The software should be user
friendly, easily understandable to the user, flexible and further modification
should be possible in future.

SYSTEM STUDY
Analysis:
I had to undertake a logical and proficient analysis to scrutinize the
feasibility of the project. The types of considerations that were taken were
economical, technical and resource wise. The resources like the users who will
operate the computer, were thoroughly studied ensure total compatibility with the
objectives of the project. An effort was made to make the Insurance Management
efficient in all type of day to day Insurance Related Online and offline leads for
offline we prefer the import system.
Existing System with Limitations:
The existing system has a manual work system. The manual works
system takes more time and then it may also be possible that the system has
errors. The manual systems work is very slow, has emotions, tiredness and some
other problems. The existing “Manual Insurance Management” has many
limitations. It takes a reasonable time to search a particular Customers in account
ledger and takes reasonable time in checking, updating various activities. Major
problem faced during policy renewal deposition if the user do not entry his receipt
or previous policy copy
.
Proposed System with Objectives:
The approach adopted in “Insurance broker portal” system is very
simple, lucid, comprehensive, and user friendly. The proposed system can
efficiently handle all the tasks as keeping the record of the student and it’s
through different sides. This task can be efficiently handled at the single
instruction of the user without taking more time, which on the become very
hazardous when done manually.
The Menu’s have been so easily defined one within the other so that
there is no difficulty in understanding it. It is very sophisticated software and can
be used by any Insurance Broking House to store their information in an efficient
manner and we hope that it will be of great help to them. This project has been
designed to reduce the manual work.
11
Design:
The prototype was iteratively enhanced. Each new enhanced
prototype was sought to be more powerful and robust. The process of constant
enhancement was carried out until the Project Guide and some other concerning
persons were fully satisfied with the system design in hand. After the analysis of
the project, the most creative phase of the project was commenced, that of the
designing. The designing dealt with the conception of system designs that are to
be implemented to execute the project.
Data Flow drawings were doesn’t to define the accurate glow of
DATA. After various rounds of discussion and arguments the design was
finalized.
Implementation :
The next stage, that of implementation dealt with the synergizing of
the System design and application of the various technical tools. The final
prototype that was designed was coded in the tools, most convenient, powerful
and glexible for the implementation of the various modules. Various modules
were codec very carefully only after considering every conditions and cases that
may affect the functionality of the module. Online help comprising of MSDN
provides a valuable help in coding.
Debugging:
After successfully coding the individual modules, all the modules
were cross checked. The debugging was performed to ensure that no software
bugs existed. Debugging is recursively performed until the newly designed
system resembles the proposed system. Ite was ensure that all the modules were
logically and syntactically correctly codec. During debugging, the entire module
combined together by systematically checking and correcting the modules one at
a time.
12
Deployment & System Testing:
The Phase of deployment and system testing involved the task of the
linking of all the individual modules to establish the actual and complete project.
The system testing involved string testing(to check the compatibility of the
modules with one another to establish integration). Overall testing (validation of
system against failures) and ensurence to the original project guidelines. Any
discrepancy found was immediately removed and all the testing were undertaken
once more to establish System Credibility. The Project – Guide was demonstrated
the project and all his challenging enquiries were fully satisfied.

ASP.NET MVC
ASP.NET MVC is an open-source software from Microsoft. Its web development
framework combines the features of MVC (Model-View-Controller) architecture,
the most up-to-date ideas and techniques from Agile development and the
best parts of the existing ASP.NET platform. This tutorial provides a complete
picture of the MVC framework and teaches you how to build an application
using this tool.
The .NET Framework is a new computing platform that simplifies application
development in the highly distributed environment of the Internet. The .NET
Framework is designed to fulfill the following objectives:
To provide a consistent object-oriented programming
environment whether object code is stored and executed locally, executed locally
but Internet-distributed, or executed remotely.
To provide a code-execution environment that minimizes
software deployment and versioning conflicts.
To provide a code-execution environment that guarantees safe
execution of code, including code created by an unknown or semi-trusted third
party.
To provide a code-execution environment that eliminates the
performance problems of scripted or interpreted environments.
15
To make the developer experience consistent across widely
varying types of applications, such as Windows-based applications and Web-
based applications.
To build all communication on industry standards to ensure that
code based on the .NET Framework can integrate with any other code.
The .NET Framework has two main components: the common
language runtime and the .NET Framework class library. The common language
runtime is the foundation of the .NET Framework. You can think of the runtime
as an agent that manages code at execution time, providing core services such as
memory management, thread management, and remoting, while also enforcing
strict type safety and other forms of code accuracy that ensure security and
robustness. In fact, the concept of code management is a fundamental principle of
the runtime. Code that targets the runtime is known as managed code, while code
that does not target the runtime is known as unmanaged code. The class library,
the other main component of the .NET Framework, is a comprehensive, object-
oriented collection of reusable types that you can use to develop applications
ranging from traditional command-line or graphical user interface (GUI)
applications to applications based on the latest innovations provided by the
following sections describe the main components and features of the .NET
Framework in greater detail.
Features of the Common Language Runtime
The common language runtime manages memory, thread
execution, code execution, code safety verification, compilation, and other system
services. These features are intrinsic to the managed code that runs on the
common language runtime.
With regards to security, managed components are awarded
varying degrees of trust, depending on a number of factors that include their
16
origin (such as the Internet, enterprise network, or local computer). This means
that a managed component might or might not be able to perform file-access
operations, registry-access operations, or other sensitive functions, even if it is
being used in the same active application.
The runtime enforces code access security. For example, users can
trust that an executable embedded in a Web page can play an animation on screen
or sing a song, but cannot access their personal data, file system, or network. The
security features of the runtime thus enable legitimate Internet-deployed software
to be exceptionally feature rich.
Features:-
17
Entity Framework
Entity Framework is an open-source ORM framework for .NET applications
supported by Microsoft. It enables developers to work with data using objects
of domain specific classes without focusing on the underlying database tables
and columns where this data is stored. With the Entity Framework, developers
can work at a higher level of abstraction when they deal with data, and can
create and maintain data-oriented applications with less code compared with
traditional applications.
Official Definition: “Entity Framework is an object-relational mapper (O/RM)
that enables .NET developers to work with a database using .NET objects. It
eliminates the need for most of the data-access code that developers usually
need to write.”
The following figure illustrates where the Entity Framework fits into your
application.

Technology and Literature Review:-
MSDN MVC:
Model–view–controller is commonly used for developing
software that divides an application into three interconnected parts.
This is done to separate internal representations of information from
the ways information is presented to and accepted from the user.
The MVC design pattern decouples these major components :-

ONLINE INSURANCE BROKER PORTAL
ABSTRACT:
The project entitled “Online Insurance Broker Portal” deals with the working
concept of Car, Bike, Health, Travel, Life Insurance Corporation. This project is
to develop for insurance company to atomize work procedure, using this system to
agents and policy holders can know details about present policies, schemes, policy
specifications, terms and conditions on policy, policy registration by the customers.
Agent commission is based upon customer policy registration and target agent
achieves for every month or year. This system maintains information of branch
managers who can deal with agents and customers. There is no need of human
interference in calculating any details. Total work is done using management system
which will save time and less paper work and even human resource. The
proposed system provides easy solution for the above and some other problems by
providing a common and centralized database structure for all members. The developed
website provides the following facilities to the admin users.
Insurance services in the middle ages policy agents and policy holders
have used the paper to take money from the insurance transaction but know the
technology is fully developed everything is being converted to computerized.
Now a day’s everyone is using the internet in this fast race the business and money
making people are also using. No country, no company and no individual want to fall
back in this fast generation everyone wants to the lead the group.
EXISTING SYSTEM:
The existing system is the manual system. The manual system is prone to error.
It is time consuming it is very difficult to produce the report for any person and there
22
is chance for changing the scheme report by doing malpractice. Usage of paper in the
payment process leads to less efficiency, less accuracy and less productivity.
Disadvantages:
Take more processing time.
There is lack of security and accuracy for the data.
Poor maintenance.
Consumes large volume of paper works.
Large amount of manual processing is needed.
Possibility of errors during manual processing and calculations.
Every member organization has its own data structure
Due to lack of centralized data structure, it is very difficult to merge the data to
analyze the statistics
Difficult to search the data.
Possibility of duplicates, etc.

Importance of Motor insurance
Motor insurance gives protection to the vehicle owner against (i). damages to his/her
vehicle and (ii). pays for any Third Party Liability determined as per law against the
owner of the vehicle. Third Party Insurance is a statutory requirement. The owner of
the vehicle is legally liable for any injury or damage to third party life or property
caused by or arising out of the use of the vehicle in a public place. Driving a motor
vehicle without insurance in a public place is a punishable offence in terms of the
Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.
What Motor Insurance to Buy
Types of Motor Insurance: Broadly there are two types of insurances policies that offer
motor insurance cover: 1. Liability Only Policy (Statutory requirement) 2. Package
Policy (Liability Only Policy + Damage to owner’s Vehicle usually called O.D Cover
Remember that if you take only a Liability Only Policy, damage to your vehicle will
not be covered. Hence, it would be prudent to take a Package Policy which would give
a wider cover, including cover for your vehicle.
Motor Insurance covers:
The damages to the vehicle due to the following perils are usually covered under OD
section of the Motor Insurance policy: a. Fire, Explosion, Self- Ignition,
Lightning b. Burglary/Housebreaking / Theft c.Riot & Strike d. Earthquake e.
Flood, Storm, Cyclone, Hurricane, tempest, inundation, hailstorm, frost f.
Accidental external means g. Malicious Act h. Terrorism acts i. While in
Transit by Rail/ Road, Inland waterways, Lift, Elevator or Air j. Land slide / Rock
slide
24
Motor Insurance excludes:
The following contingencies are usually excluded under the Motor Insurance Policy: •
Not having a valid Driving License • Under Influence of intoxicating liquor/
drugs • Accident taking place beyond Geographical limits • While Vehicle is used for
unlawful purposes • Electrical/Mechanical Breakdowns.
Sum Insured:
For Own Damage: The Sum Insured under a Motor Insurance policy reflects the value
of the motor vehicle determined based on the concept known as Insured's Declared
Value. Insured's Declared Value is the value arrived at based on the Manufacturer's
present value and depreciation based on the Age of the Vehicle. For Third Party:
Coverage is as per requirements of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 . Compulsory
Personal accident cover for owner-driver is also included. Policy can also be extended
to cover various other risks like Personal Accident to occupants of vehicle, Workmen's
Compensation to Driver, etc over and above the cover available to him under statute.
Discounts
Age
A person is eligible for a discount in premium depending on his age.
No Claim Bonus
No-claim bonus is the discount which is made available to the policyholder for not
making any claims during the year. This NCB can accumulate over the years and and
the discount ranges from 20-50%.
Automobile Association membership
A person having a membership with the Automobile Association of India, an
organisation powered by IRDAI, gets a concession on own-damage premium.

Testing Technics and Strategies :
There are two types of techniques have been used to test the project
application. One is White Box Testing and other is Black Box Testing.
 WHITE BOX TESTING:-
White box testing is a test case design method that uses the control
structure of the procedural design to derive test case. Under this testing
technique, following testing is exercised.
 CONDITION TESTING:-
In this testing all the logical conditions contained in each module are tested
for both values True and False.
 BLACK BOX TESTING:-
It focuses on the functional requirement of the software . Menus in this
techniques input and outputs are checked. Following testing is created in this
category.
 INPUT TESTING:-
Whether data are inputted in correct manner or not. How system varies
the inputted data and gives message on the input of wrong data? Whether
system is closed after giving any run-time error on the input of wrong data.
If yes the trace the error and play messages accordingly.
 OUTPUT TESTING :-
In this testing, it checked that generated reports are in correct manner or
not. It checked what the cases are for the generation of reports.
 SOFTWARE TESTING STRATEGY:-
Following are the strategies that are used for the error free system:-
 UNIT TESTING:-
First of all each module tested separately to ensure
that information properly flows into and out of the program unit under test.
The local structure is examined to ensure that data store temporarily
46
maintains it integrity during all steps in the algorithm execution. Boundary
conditions are tested to ensure that the module operates properly at
boundary established to limit or restrict processing. I f any error will occur
then how be they maintained are tested.


 INTEGRATION TESTING:-
After the testing of each module separately , all of them are tested
jointly. To check how a data flow from one module to another.
Because this data flow may give uncovered error that have not been
occurred in the unit testing and so they are checked with full
compilation.
 VALIDATION TESTING:-
After the integration testing , now software is ready .The available
hardware, operating system, environment will match the application
or not owner will accept or not . And so for this purpose, application is
installed on the machine, database on the server, gives complete
description about it to all relative people. After performance of the
application is checked on the given environment .Reports are
checked, different types of security taken in the application and for the
database is checked. After this project is completed and ready for
work.
47
Code Optimization-
All the controls are given names in such way that they can be
easily identified for what purpose they have been used. Coding
contains comments, where it is necessary, which creates more
readability of the coding. Because comments cleared calling function is
used for which purpose , a particular subroutine is used for which
purpose , why we used loop or conditional statements at this place
etc. The statements that repeatedly used on some values or without
values are defined as subroutines or functions (if return values) and
call them whenever they are necessary.
Code Efficiency-
All the statements in the coding has been tested and verified.
Now they are free from any type of error such as Syntax Error ,
Runtime Errors. If in this case there is any error then they can removed
at the time of maintenance only. This coding efficiency can be known
from this that system can be run fast in minimum windows with error
free.
48
GANTT/PERT CHART
Gantt chart: - Gantt chart (developed by Henry L. Gantt) is a project
cool technique can be used for several purposes, including scheduling,
budgeting and resource planning. A Gantt chart is a bar chart with each
bar representing an activity. The bars are drawn against a time line. The
length of each bar is proportional to his length of time plan for the
activity.
The Gantt chart can help in scheduling the activities of a project but
it does not help in identifying them. One can began with the activities
identified bin the work break down structure as we did for the complier
example.
During the activities may be identified that were not in envisioned
during the initial planning.
The manager must then go back and revised the break down
structure and the schedule to deal with these new activities. When a
Gantt chart issued as a project control method milestone or checkpoints
usually are placed at the completion of a particular task. The Gantt chart
for our process is as follows-
20 Days 15 Days 25 Days 5
Days
5

PERT CHART: -
Pert is designed to facilities getting a project back on schedule. Program
Evolution Review Technique (PERT) is a scheduling device that also show a
graphically which task must be completed before other are began. PERT is
organized by event and activities, or task. PERT control time and costs during
the project on time and completing it with in budget. PERT recognize that
project is complex. That some task must be completed before.
To build a PERT chart for a project, one must first list all the activities
required for completion of the project and estimate how long each will take.
Then one must determine the dependence of the activities on each other.
PERT is designed to facilities getting a project back on schedule and control
each task. Because project often falls behind schedule and that the appropriate
way to manage a project is to define other can start.

Conclusion :-
After we have completed the project we are sure the problems in the existing
system would overcome. The “Online Insurance Broker Portal” of this
project is to
lessen human efforts. The maintenance of the records is made efficient, as all
the
records are stored in the SQL SRVER database, through which data can be
retrieved
easily. The navigation control is provided in all the forms to navigate through
the
large amount of records.
If the numbers of records are very large then user has to just type in the
search
string and user gets the results immediately. ” process made computerized to
reduce human errors and to increase the efficiency. The main focus
CUSTOMERS and Employees are given a particular unique id no. So that
they can be
accessed correctly and without errors. Our main aim of the project is to get
the
51
correct information about a particular Customers and Polices available in the
Database.
The problems, which existed in the earlier system, have been removed to a
large
extent. And it is expected that this project will go a long way in satisfying
users
requirements. The computerization of the Insurance Management will not only
improves the efficiency but will also reduce human stress thereby indirectly
improving human recourses.

  • 5. 5 ACKNOWLEDGEMENT The Project named “Online Insurance Broker Portal” is a Web based application based on ASP.NET MVC. Since the project had started, all my teachers, and colleagues have made valuable suggestions which have incorporated in making this an attractive & informative project regarding my project requirements. I take this opportunity to express our gratitude to them. I wish to express my sincere and heartfelt thanks to Dr. Ajay Bharti, HOD MUIT, Lucknow, for kindly consenting to guide for this project and for their cooperation. I am thankful to Mr. Gaurav Gupta, Team Leader, Star Group, who permitted me to do this project in partial fulfillment for M.Tech(CS). My special thanks to Dr. Kavindra Singh, CEO of Star Group for his guidance and critical suggestions. I am also thankful to all my batch mates for critical suggestions and moral support in conducting the project. Most importantly, my effort would not have been equal to this task had they not been generously supported and encouraged by my parents. Last but not least I am very thanks full to my friend Mr. Shashi Vishwakarma. Accomplishment of present project would not have been done without his valuable suggestion. He also commented on this project and encourages me to do best work on this project.
  • 6. 6 PREFACE The computer world has undergone a revolution since the invention of C# .NET MVC language. C# .NET MVC is called High Level Language. Our project word has been designed in c# .NET MVC . The project “Online Insurance Broker Portal” handle tasks at the single instruction of the user with done so much effort. The approach of project designing is very simple, lucid and comprehensive, which results in a very sophisticated project. We hope that our project will work very easily and efficient. We do our best to complete this project. Today’s commercial world is built around money. Every commercial transaction needs to be supported using a financial transaction. Traditional procedure for maintaining, records using Ledgers, Day Book etc. is very timer consuming and may lead to error if not performed carefully. Keeping in mind that today in Insurance Broking House world is built around management, and all the systems going on computerized, so I have made an effort automate the Insurance Broking House System by developing a small package. “OIBP” is developed using C# .NET MVC, Entity Framework 6.0 and Sql Server 2014. C# .NET MVC is used as front-end for the following reason: * C#.NET MVC is flexible Easy to find in terms of separations. * C# .NET supports has Common Language Report (CLR) feature. * Structured programming language The Project has used SQL SERVER 2014 as back-end for database management. SQL SERVER provides more handy and safe database management tools.
  • 7. 7 INTRODUCTION About The Project : Online Insurance Broker Portal is the important and hence are an integral part of the every Insurance Brokers. The project has been designed using the Sql Server 2014 Database Management System. Sql Server 2014 is an RDBMS, It uses the relational we have used the concept of the relations to stored and manipulate the data of the information system. Physically these relations have been stored in form of the tables. Corresponding to each entitle and the relationships we have a database table. These tables contain the columns as the fields of table. Further, each column have some attributes such as data types, size, default values etc. which defines and validate the data. In the design “Online Insurance Broker Portal” we have exploited the rich facilities (tools) of c#.NET MVC. C#.NET MVC is Microsoft’s strategic language for Rapid Application Development (RAD) and its also have feature of Common Language Runtime(CLR). It is easy to use, efficient, flexible and more powerful for developing a Database related programming as well as Net programming. I prefer this language because one can build a Windows program quicker and with less effort with C#.NET MVC than with any other programming
  • 8. 8 language. It’s is natural language for building database applications, owing to the level and sophistication of the tools included with the language. We have used C#.NET MVC for designing the data entry screens corresponding to each table. These forms have been further customized using the toolstrip button, option button, datagrid, Datetime picker and functions to provide the functionality to make them as user friendly and easy to use as possible. We are providing the data retrieval and the data manipulation task a matter by clicking the desire buttons and the result of the task mentioned on button would be displayed on the screen. We designed reports that would request the users parameter and provide the result based on the query define the data model of the report and the parameter passed by the users. These objectives have been achieved using the form. Various forms have been used to design the screen and these screens have been used along with the coded buttons to integrate objects.
  • 9. 9 OBJECTIVES The main objective of the project entitled “Online Insurance Broker Portal” is to facilitate reliable, fast and easy information of Customer, Insurance Details, Employee Entry,Vehicle Entry with Day book on single keystroke. In this I am trying to facilitates the Insurance Brokers services of the Management System is fully computerized. The main objective of my project is to reduce complexities to traditional work and facilitate them through computerized services. The primary goal behind the development of the “Online Insurance Broker Portal” CRM is to improve the quality of the work in the online Insurance purchase policy .It increases the Easiness and maintain the records of staffs and customers leads. The secondary goals was to achieve better and efficient output in less amount of time, and finally to increase the profits. There is also a mechanism of quick detail of every customers with their lead information generation and 24x7 call support. Management of Insurance Services is main objective in this project. Everything has been automatised for this purpose. A paperless office will be there. The software should be user friendly, easily understandable to the user, flexible and further modification should be possible in future.
  • 10. 10 SYSTEM STUDY Analysis: I had to undertake a logical and proficient analysis to scrutinize the feasibility of the project. The types of considerations that were taken were economical, technical and resource wise. The resources like the users who will operate the computer, were thoroughly studied ensure total compatibility with the objectives of the project. An effort was made to make the Insurance Management efficient in all type of day to day Insurance Related Online and offline leads for offline we prefer the import system. Existing System with Limitations: The existing system has a manual work system. The manual works system takes more time and then it may also be possible that the system has errors. The manual systems work is very slow, has emotions, tiredness and some other problems. The existing “Manual Insurance Management” has many limitations. It takes a reasonable time to search a particular Customers in account ledger and takes reasonable time in checking, updating various activities. Major problem faced during policy renewal deposition if the user do not entry his receipt or previous policy copy . Proposed System with Objectives: The approach adopted in “Insurance broker portal” system is very simple, lucid, comprehensive, and user friendly. The proposed system can efficiently handle all the tasks as keeping the record of the student and it’s through different sides. This task can be efficiently handled at the single instruction of the user without taking more time, which on the become very hazardous when done manually. The Menu’s have been so easily defined one within the other so that there is no difficulty in understanding it. It is very sophisticated software and can be used by any Insurance Broking House to store their information in an efficient manner and we hope that it will be of great help to them. This project has been designed to reduce the manual work.
  • 11. 11 Design: The prototype was iteratively enhanced. Each new enhanced prototype was sought to be more powerful and robust. The process of constant enhancement was carried out until the Project Guide and some other concerning persons were fully satisfied with the system design in hand. After the analysis of the project, the most creative phase of the project was commenced, that of the designing. The designing dealt with the conception of system designs that are to be implemented to execute the project. Data Flow drawings were doesn’t to define the accurate glow of DATA. After various rounds of discussion and arguments the design was finalized. Implementation : The next stage, that of implementation dealt with the synergizing of the System design and application of the various technical tools. The final prototype that was designed was coded in the tools, most convenient, powerful and glexible for the implementation of the various modules. Various modules were codec very carefully only after considering every conditions and cases that may affect the functionality of the module. Online help comprising of MSDN provides a valuable help in coding. Debugging: After successfully coding the individual modules, all the modules were cross checked. The debugging was performed to ensure that no software bugs existed. Debugging is recursively performed until the newly designed system resembles the proposed system. Ite was ensure that all the modules were logically and syntactically correctly codec. During debugging, the entire module combined together by systematically checking and correcting the modules one at a time.
  • 12. 12 Deployment & System Testing: The Phase of deployment and system testing involved the task of the linking of all the individual modules to establish the actual and complete project. The system testing involved string testing(to check the compatibility of the modules with one another to establish integration). Overall testing (validation of system against failures) and ensurence to the original project guidelines. Any discrepancy found was immediately removed and all the testing were undertaken once more to establish System Credibility. The Project – Guide was demonstrated the project and all his challenging enquiries were fully satisfied.

  • 14. 14 ASP.NET MVC ASP.NET MVC is an open-source software from Microsoft. Its web development framework combines the features of MVC (Model-View-Controller) architecture, the most up-to-date ideas and techniques from Agile development and the best parts of the existing ASP.NET platform. This tutorial provides a complete picture of the MVC framework and teaches you how to build an application using this tool. The .NET Framework is a new computing platform that simplifies application development in the highly distributed environment of the Internet. The .NET Framework is designed to fulfill the following objectives: To provide a consistent object-oriented programming environment whether object code is stored and executed locally, executed locally but Internet-distributed, or executed remotely. To provide a code-execution environment that minimizes software deployment and versioning conflicts. To provide a code-execution environment that guarantees safe execution of code, including code created by an unknown or semi-trusted third party. To provide a code-execution environment that eliminates the performance problems of scripted or interpreted environments.
  • 15. 15 To make the developer experience consistent across widely varying types of applications, such as Windows-based applications and Web- based applications. To build all communication on industry standards to ensure that code based on the .NET Framework can integrate with any other code. The .NET Framework has two main components: the common language runtime and the .NET Framework class library. The common language runtime is the foundation of the .NET Framework. You can think of the runtime as an agent that manages code at execution time, providing core services such as memory management, thread management, and remoting, while also enforcing strict type safety and other forms of code accuracy that ensure security and robustness. In fact, the concept of code management is a fundamental principle of the runtime. Code that targets the runtime is known as managed code, while code that does not target the runtime is known as unmanaged code. The class library, the other main component of the .NET Framework, is a comprehensive, object- oriented collection of reusable types that you can use to develop applications ranging from traditional command-line or graphical user interface (GUI) applications to applications based on the latest innovations provided by the following sections describe the main components and features of the .NET Framework in greater detail. Features of the Common Language Runtime The common language runtime manages memory, thread execution, code execution, code safety verification, compilation, and other system services. These features are intrinsic to the managed code that runs on the common language runtime. With regards to security, managed components are awarded varying degrees of trust, depending on a number of factors that include their
  • 16. 16 origin (such as the Internet, enterprise network, or local computer). This means that a managed component might or might not be able to perform file-access operations, registry-access operations, or other sensitive functions, even if it is being used in the same active application. The runtime enforces code access security. For example, users can trust that an executable embedded in a Web page can play an animation on screen or sing a song, but cannot access their personal data, file system, or network. The security features of the runtime thus enable legitimate Internet-deployed software to be exceptionally feature rich. Features:-
  • 17. 17 Entity Framework Entity Framework is an open-source ORM framework for .NET applications supported by Microsoft. It enables developers to work with data using objects of domain specific classes without focusing on the underlying database tables and columns where this data is stored. With the Entity Framework, developers can work at a higher level of abstraction when they deal with data, and can create and maintain data-oriented applications with less code compared with traditional applications. Official Definition: “Entity Framework is an object-relational mapper (O/RM) that enables .NET developers to work with a database using .NET objects. It eliminates the need for most of the data-access code that developers usually need to write.” The following figure illustrates where the Entity Framework fits into your application.

  • 45. 45 Testing Technics and Strategies : There are two types of techniques have been used to test the project application. One is White Box Testing and other is Black Box Testing.  WHITE BOX TESTING:- White box testing is a test case design method that uses the control structure of the procedural design to derive test case. Under this testing technique, following testing is exercised.  CONDITION TESTING:- In this testing all the logical conditions contained in each module are tested for both values True and False.  BLACK BOX TESTING:- It focuses on the functional requirement of the software . Menus in this techniques input and outputs are checked. Following testing is created in this category.  INPUT TESTING:- Whether data are inputted in correct manner or not. How system varies the inputted data and gives message on the input of wrong data? Whether system is closed after giving any run-time error on the input of wrong data. If yes the trace the error and play messages accordingly.  OUTPUT TESTING :- In this testing, it checked that generated reports are in correct manner or not. It checked what the cases are for the generation of reports.  SOFTWARE TESTING STRATEGY:- Following are the strategies that are used for the error free system:-  UNIT TESTING:- First of all each module tested separately to ensure that information properly flows into and out of the program unit under test. The local structure is examined to ensure that data store temporarily
  • 46. 46 maintains it integrity during all steps in the algorithm execution. Boundary conditions are tested to ensure that the module operates properly at boundary established to limit or restrict processing. I f any error will occur then how be they maintained are tested.    INTEGRATION TESTING:- After the testing of each module separately , all of them are tested jointly. To check how a data flow from one module to another. Because this data flow may give uncovered error that have not been occurred in the unit testing and so they are checked with full compilation.  VALIDATION TESTING:- After the integration testing , now software is ready .The available hardware, operating system, environment will match the application or not owner will accept or not . And so for this purpose, application is installed on the machine, database on the server, gives complete description about it to all relative people. After performance of the application is checked on the given environment .Reports are checked, different types of security taken in the application and for the database is checked. After this project is completed and ready for work.
  • 47. 47 Code Optimization- All the controls are given names in such way that they can be easily identified for what purpose they have been used. Coding contains comments, where it is necessary, which creates more readability of the coding. Because comments cleared calling function is used for which purpose , a particular subroutine is used for which purpose , why we used loop or conditional statements at this place etc. The statements that repeatedly used on some values or without values are defined as subroutines or functions (if return values) and call them whenever they are necessary. Code Efficiency- All the statements in the coding has been tested and verified. Now they are free from any type of error such as Syntax Error , Runtime Errors. If in this case there is any error then they can removed at the time of maintenance only. This coding efficiency can be known from this that system can be run fast in minimum windows with error free.
  • 48. 48 GANTT/PERT CHART Gantt chart: - Gantt chart (developed by Henry L. Gantt) is a project cool technique can be used for several purposes, including scheduling, budgeting and resource planning. A Gantt chart is a bar chart with each bar representing an activity. The bars are drawn against a time line. The length of each bar is proportional to his length of time plan for the activity. The Gantt chart can help in scheduling the activities of a project but it does not help in identifying them. One can began with the activities identified bin the work break down structure as we did for the complier example. During the activities may be identified that were not in envisioned during the initial planning. The manager must then go back and revised the break down structure and the schedule to deal with these new activities. When a Gantt chart issued as a project control method milestone or checkpoints usually are placed at the completion of a particular task. The Gantt chart for our process is as follows- 20 Days 15 Days 25 Days 5 Days 5 Days Analysis Design Coding
  • 49. 49 Testing Implementation PERT CHART: - Pert is designed to facilities getting a project back on schedule. Program Evolution Review Technique (PERT) is a scheduling device that also show a graphically which task must be completed before other are began. PERT is organized by event and activities, or task. PERT control time and costs during the project on time and completing it with in budget. PERT recognize that project is complex. That some task must be completed before. To build a PERT chart for a project, one must first list all the activities required for completion of the project and estimate how long each will take. Then one must determine the dependence of the activities on each other. PERT is designed to facilities getting a project back on schedule and control each task. Because project often falls behind schedule and that the appropriate way to manage a project is to define other can start. Program Evaluation Review Technique (PERT) Start System Analysis (20Days) Design and specification (15 Days) Coding of modules (25 days) Testing 5 days) Implementation (5 days)
