From 3 sector agriculture, industry, service, industry
role is very important in economic development of an
economy of any state. On the basis of area Rajasthan
is biggest state in India but due to geographical
situation Rajasthan is backward in industrialisation.
About 61% Area in Rajasthan is desert area where
very level of rain is available and where
circumstances are not in support of industries. Due to
which industry is available in very nominal in our
state at the time of independence.
At the time of constitution of Rajasthan only 3 broad
industries available out of which 7 cotton clothes, 2
cement and sugar industry and 207 registered factory.
In opposite situation in state after independence
various efforts are made for development of industrial
sector in state. Development of industrial
environment depends on maximum utilisation of local
resources, skills of artisan, improvement in
productivity, financial assistance to industry for
investment promotion policy. For fast
industrialisation in state basic infrastructure with
help, support or direction of state government is very
important.
With the objective of fast industrial development in
state and for support .direction or assistance of
industry, handicraft, MSME sector directorate office,
industrial department is working. This department
as district industry centre provide support assistance
and all facility at one place for set up industry in state.
In 1978 at 5th
five year plan district industry centre
(Zila Udhyog Kendra) set up at each district by
centrally promoted Yojana. In August 2016 a new sub
district industry centre (up zila udhyog Kendra)
opened in Sujangarh(Churu). At present 36 District
Industry Centre and 8 Sub centre (Sujangarh, beawar,
falna, abu road, balotra, kishangarh, makrana,
nimrana) working in state. From 36 zila udhyog
Kendra 32 set up in district headquarter and 4 at
biwadi, fauladi, Jaipur rural and Jaipur urban. After
all efforts of state government contribution of
industry sector state gross state value addition
(GSVA) is 27.81% at current price in 2019-20.at
current price in GSVA contribution of infrastructure
sector is 9.82% in 2019-20.
Efforts of Industry Development in Rajasthan
In state 348 industrial Area developed till December
2019 by RIICO. At present efforts are made for
qualitative improvement in industrial area by newly
set up industrial area.
New industrial area: 4 industrial area environmental
permission granted in 2019-20 by RIICO in Fatehpur
Samelia(Bhilwara),Ranpur(Kota),Baggar(Rajsamand)
and Dhanuva(Jaisalmer).
For attraction of industrial investment in state
9296.846 hectares Land bank of Land developed till
December 2019 as per requirement of land for
industries.
Till 31.03.2019 total 390 broad level industries
(Running), maximum in biwadi and alwar (105),
bhilwara(75) at second position, Jaipur Rural(27) and
Udaipur(27) at 3rd
position.
On 31.03.2019 total 254 medium level industries are
running out of maximum in Biwadi (47), Bhilwara
(35) and Kota (33).
Bengaluru and Hyderabad type of 40 hectares “3
Teck Park” will be developed near B2 bypass in
Jaipur.
Industrial production index: this index is based on 3
major group manufacturing, mining and electricity. In
Rajasthan industrial production index is positive from
2015-16 to 2018-19.index of manufacturing sector in
2018-19 is 143.39 and in 2019-20 till December 2019

Rajasthan at 13th

STREID Prize: State Government will give STREID
(Science Technology, Research, Innovation, Design
and Entrepreneurship) prize for journalism,
innovation, industrialisation, young scientist.
Intellectual Property facilitation centre opened:
intellectual property facilitation centre opened for
registration of patent, design, trademark etc on
intellectual property right of industries in science and
technology department.

2019-20: Prime Minister Shri Narender Modi
declared 2019-20 as “Construction Technology
Year”.
Development of Industrial Area and Park
Industrial Growth Centre: This growth is achieved
through development of centrally promoted Yojana.
The objective of this yojana is to attract industrial
units for providing infrastructural facility to backward
region and removing area wise inequalities.
Establishment of growth paul at sikandra (dausa) in
unorganised area with support of national
commission.
Mini development centre(IID Centre):in rural and
backward region small industries provided
amalgamated infrastructural facility by RIICO and
Indian Government in infrastructural structural
development yojana with 5-5 crore cost. at following
places mini development centre are developed:
1. Sangaria (Jodhpur) 2. Niwai (Tonk) 3. Gogelav
(Nagaur) 4. falna(Pali) 5.bayana(Bharatpur)
6. KhushKera (Biwadi-alwar) 7. Kalrawas (Udaipur)
8. hindaun city (karoli) 9. Baran
Special Industrial Park in Rajasthan

(Nimrana, Alwar)
In 2006 RIICO signed MOU for industrial Development under “INDO-Japanese
Sahyog” at international Level with Japanese Institute JETRO (Japanese external
trade Promotion Organisation). Under this with support of JETRO Japanese units
are established at Nimrana Industrial Area, Alwar. Here for success of Japanese
zone RIICO with the help of JETRO established Second Japanese Park at Ghilot.

Cotton Textile:
This is largest agriculture based industry of our
country. At present mostly cotton mills of our country
are at Gujarat, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu. Cotton
textile is oldest industry of Rajasthan. it provides
maximum employment opportunity. In state first
cotton textile mill started Krishna mill ltd. on 17 June
1889 at Beawar(Ajmer) at private by Seth
Damodardas. On 9th
august 1906 second mill at
beawar Edward mill ltd. established. Mahalaxmi mill
ltd. at beawar in 1925, on 27th

Cement Industry:
Cement is a basic structural industry of Rajasthan.
Rajasthan have an important place in cement
production in our country because Rajasthan have big
stock of lime stone cement grade. Madras presidency
is the first cement factory in India established in
1904. In Rajasthan first cement factory established in
lakheri (bundi) in 1917.in Sawai madhopur biggest
cement factory in Asia established in 1953 as Jaipur
udhyog ltd. which is currently stopped working.
cement factory is established at nearby place of
receipt of raw material (lime stone and
gypsum).cement factory in rajasthan established at
lakheri,nimbhahera,modak,beawar,kota,gautan(nagau
r),sirohi,chittorgarh,pali etc. at gautan(nagaur) J.K.

1988.chittorgarh district is on 1st
position in cement
production in Rajasthan. In whole country maximum
cement plant established in Rajasthan. Ultra Teck
cement ltd is biggest cement manufacturing company
in India.
Sugar Industry:
Sugar industry is 2nd
biggest agriculture based
industry of India. Sugar mills are normally
established at sugarcane manufacturing areas.
Maximum sugarcane production is at uttarpradesh
and maximum sugarcane states are u.p., Maharashtra
and Karnataka. Maximum sugar production is in India
in whole world. Brazil is at 2nd
position. Maximum
sugar productive states are u.p., Maharashtra and
Karnataka. In Rajasthan sugar production in verylow.
Here only 3 sugar mills are established.
1. The Mewar sugar mill ltd., Bhopalsagar
(Chittorgarh)
2. Rajasthan state Ganganagar mills ltd., Shri
Ganganagar
3. Keshoraipattan Sahkari sugar mills ltd.,
keshoraipattan (Bundi).
Possibility of industrial Development in Rajasthan
Following attempts made for industrial development
in Rajasthan:
To provide special facility to textile sector and to
include garments, apparel, made ups in textile
sector and to provide some discount in electricity
fees to him.
Online registration for small and medium
industries.
Development of special industrial zone in Korea
investment zone, gehlot (Alwar district) and
Japani Park at Nimrana are developed.
By Central institute of plastic engineering,
Chennai establishment of expansion centre at
Jaipur for incentive of plastic industry.
Establishment of SEZ at sanganer, jaipur is
approved and same as there is also a planning
SEZ at kota.mahindra group will establishing
Mahindra world city at jaipur with RIICO. James
and jewellery SEZ is developing at Sitapura,
jaipur.
Fastly solution of industrial disputes with single
window planning.
Increase in sales of handicraft product by rural
and urban hatt.
Organisation of industrial fare and promotion
camp.

On the basis of area Rajasthan is biggest state in India but due to geographical situation Rajasthan is backward in industrialisation. About 61% Area in Rajasthan is desert area where very level of rain is available and where circumstances are not in support of industries. Due to which industry is available in very nominal in our state at the time of independence. At the time of constitution of Rajasthan only 3 broad industries available out of which 7 cotton clothes, 2 cement and sugar industry and 207 registered factory. In opposite situation in state after independence various efforts are made for development of industrial sector in state. Development of industrial environment depends on maximum utilisation of local resources, skills of artisan, improvement in productivity, financial assistance to industry for investment promotion policy. For fast industrialisation in state basic infrastructure with help, support or direction of state government is very important. With the objective of fast industrial development in state and for support .direction or assistance of industry, handicraft, MSME sector directorate office, industrial department is working. This department as district industry centre provide support assistance and all facility at one place for set up industry in state. In 1978 at 5th five year plan district industry centre (Zila Udhyog Kendra) set up at each district by centrally promoted Yojana. In August 2016 a new sub district industry centre (up zila udhyog Kendra) opened in Sujangarh(Churu). At present 36 District Industry Centre and 8 Sub centre (Sujangarh, beawar, falna, abu road, balotra, kishangarh, makrana, nimrana) working in state. From 36 zila udhyog Kendra 32 set up in district headquarter and 4 at biwadi, fauladi, Jaipur rural and Jaipur urban. After all efforts of state government contribution of industry sector state gross state value addition (GSVA) is 27.81% at current price in 2019-20.at current price in GSVA contribution of infrastructure sector is 9.82% in 2019-20. Efforts of Industry Development in Rajasthan In state 348 industrial Area developed till December 2019 by RIICO. At present efforts are made for qualitative improvement in industrial area by newly set up industrial area. New industrial area: 4 industrial area environmental permission granted in 2019-20 by RIICO in Fatehpur Samelia(Bhilwara),Ranpur(Kota),Baggar(Rajsamand) and Dhanuva(Jaisalmer). For attraction of industrial investment in state 9296.846 hectares Land bank of Land developed till December 2019 as per requirement of land for industries. Till 31.03.2019 total 390 broad level industries (Running), maximum in biwadi and alwar (105), bhilwara(75) at second position, Jaipur Rural(27) and Udaipur(27) at 3rd position. On 31.03.2019 total 254 medium level industries are running out of maximum in Biwadi (47), Bhilwara (35) and Kota (33). Bengaluru and Hyderabad type of 40 hectares “3 Teck Park” will be developed near B2 bypass in Jaipur. Industrial production index: this index is based on 3 major group manufacturing, mining and electricity. In Rajasthan industrial production index is positive from 2015-16 to 2018-19.index of manufacturing sector in 2018-19 is 143.39 and in 2019-20 till December 2019 IJTSRD50544

Innovation index 2019: On 17th October 2019 Niti Aayog issued India innovation Index 2019 as per this index India’s most innovative state is Karnataka. Rajasthan at 13th position in Ranking. STREID Prize: State Government will give STREID (Science Technology, Research, Innovation, Design and Entrepreneurship) prize for journalism, innovation, industrialisation, young scientist. Intellectual Property facilitation centre opened: intellectual property facilitation centre opened for registration of patent, design, trademark etc on intellectual property right of industries in science and technology department. 7th economic calculation 2019: This calculation done 2019.1st calculation done in 1977.2nd in 1980, 3rd in 1990, 4th in 1998, 5th in 2005 and 6th economic calculation done in 2013. For 7th economic calculation statistical and program implementation ministry amalgamates CSC e-governance services India ltd. In Economic calculation all business units counted within geographical limits of country. This counting done June 2019-december 2019 in whole India. 7th economic counting field work started on 29th July 2019 in Tripura. State/union Territory this counting done in August/September 2019 and for this data collection time is extended to 30th September 2020. Rajasthan State organised 7th economic counting in August 2019.in 1st phase Dausa, Sikar, kota, Jhalawar, bundi, baran included 15 and 2nd phase in Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur included 18 district in economic counting. 2019-20: Prime Minister Shri Narender Modi declared 2019-20 as “Construction Technology Year”. Development of Industrial Area and Park Industrial Growth Centre: This growth is achieved through development of centrally promoted Yojana. The objective of this yojana is to attract industrial units for providing infrastructural facility to backward region and removing area wise inequalities. Establishment of growth paul at sikandra (dausa) in unorganised area with support of national commission. Mini development centre(IID Centre):in rural and backward region small industries provided amalgamated infrastructural facility by RIICO and Indian Government in infrastructural structural development yojana with 5-5 crore cost. at following places mini development centre are developed: 1. Sangaria (Jodhpur) 2. Niwai (Tonk) 3. Gogelav (Nagaur) 4. falna(Pali) 5.bayana(Bharatpur) 6. KhushKera (Biwadi-alwar) 7. Kalrawas (Udaipur) 8. hindaun city (karoli) 9. Baran Special Industrial Park in Rajasthan Japani Park (Nimrana, Alwar) In 2006 RIICO signed MOU for industrial Development under “INDO-Japanese Sahyog” at international Level with Japanese Institute JETRO (Japanese external trade Promotion Organisation). Under this with support of JETRO Japanese units are established at Nimrana Industrial Area, Alwar. Here for success of Japanese zone RIICO with the help of JETRO established Second Japanese Park at Ghilot. South Corean Industrial Zone RIICO and Kotra established south Corean industrial zone at Ghilot (Nimrana, Alwar). James and Jewellery Park Export promotion industrial park, Sitapura, (Jaipur). RFC provide loan up to 20 Crores for establishment of industry in Rajasthan state. RIICO- Rajasthan state industrial development and investment corporation. RIICO established in January 1980 under company act 1956 at Jaipur. It is established in state for industrial structure development, To provide medium and large size industries loan facility, technical consultancy, merchant banking activities and for promotion of industries. Rajasthan short industrial corporation(RSIC, Rajsico),Jaipur Registered company as per companies act 1956 on 3rd June 1961 To provide financial assistance to short industries and handicraft units and raw material facility and to provide marketing and training facility. Rajasthan khadi and gram udyog board, Jaipur April,1955 For enforcement of rural economy development of khadi and gram udhyog sector of state and provide employment opportunity. Rajasthan consultancy organisation ltd.(RAJCON) 1978 Headquarter- Jaipur To provide technical marketing, management, development and financial consultancy to small planning promoters of state. Rajasthan state handicraft development corporation ltd(RSHDC) 3 march 1984 Headquarter-Jaipur For modernisation of craft sector and for training to weaver of personal area and assistance in marketing of product and to provide raw material for development of handicraft sector or state. Udhyog incentive institute, Jaipur October 1995 For providing training to new daring organise industrial camp, for new product publicity organise industrial and handicraft fair and exhibition. Small industry service institute(SISI),Jaipur 14th January 1958 To provide knowledge and training to new industrialist of different industry established by SIDO in state. Major large and medium size industry of Rajasthan Cotton Textile: This is largest agriculture based industry of our country. At present mostly cotton mills of our country are at Gujarat, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu. Cotton textile is oldest industry of Rajasthan. it provides maximum employment opportunity. In state first cotton textile mill started Krishna mill ltd. on 17 June 1889 at Beawar(Ajmer) at private by Seth Damodardas. On 9th august 1906 second mill at beawar Edward mill ltd. established.
