  1. Why mastering the art of presentation matters ?
  2. Birds eat a lot and elephants poop a lot……so Garr here applies this notion to knowledge. Consume knowledge a lot and spread it around.
  3. We cannot cover the entire part hence, we must cut off the unnecessary part and keep the stuff that’s relevant.
  4. As said by Dr. Koichi Kawana simplicity means achievement of maximum effect with minimum means.
  5. Everyone makes mistakes but, we shouldn’t be afraid to make them.
  6. A creative adult is a child that survived.
  7. Tips for making a good presentation. To walk on the road to a good presentation we need to prepare, visualize and deliver.
  8. Decide what’s important and what’s not. Be coherent in your message.
  9. Do not start by googling the topic on the internet. Kills the originality.
  10. Start by planning analog. Note down the important points you are including, divide into segments and then work segment by segment.
  11. Presentation is nothing but story telling and the best way to tell story is through graphics/visuals.
  12. We remember the things that we see better than that we hear or read. Hence if you want your message to stick use visuals.
  13. As Tom Peters says “ We are ALL designers”. We all can design and we must design.
  14. Acording to Garr design is everywhere-posters, advertisement etc.
  15. Do not use childish animations in your slides.
  16. A good slide is natural and is purposeful. It is no necessary to fill it up completely, white space is okay.
  17. PowerPoint is not the presentation. Its just a tool to help us present and convey our message. Do completely rely on power point to express you. You are the presenter.
