New CAN module with H-bridge function for direct motor
control
Essen, October 2012 – The new, powerful SmartModule for mobile
machines from ifm electronic features 4 parameterisable H-bridges,
7 power outputs and 15 inputs. In addition, a central plug enables
quick integration into the cable harness.
The compact, decentralised I/O module allows connection to the CAN
bus exactly at the required position. Integrated power outputs enable
direct control of motors and other consumers with a high operating
current.
The networking of the modules via the powerful CAN bus with CANopen
protocol allows fast connection to the application. The wiring complexity
is reduced. A central plug protected against reverse polarity provides the
connection to the controller. It is used for connecting all sensors,
actuators, the CAN bus and voltage supply. This saves time and money.
The unit has a robust metal housing and the high protection rating IP 67,
protecting it against dirt or splash water.
Comprehensive mechanical and climatic tests prove the resistance even
under extreme conditions. Therefore the CAN module of the product line
"ecomatmobile" from ifm electronic is the optimum choice for use in
mobile automation applications.
