2. This year is, of course, marked by
the global health crisis of COVID-
19.
Our projects had to adapt to this
very special situation.
THE ROTARY CLUB OF
SAINT-MARTIN NORD IS
PLEASED TO PRESENT
THE ACTIONS ACHIEVED
IN 2020-2021.

4. CHANGE OF BOARD
An evening of change of board of the Rotary-Club de Saint-Martin Nord a little
different because of the health crisis of COVID-19.
Indeed, the evening this year was held in a small committee.
7. On Saturday, September 19, on the occasion of
the World Clean Up Day, the Rotary-Club of
Saint-Martin Nord, in partnership with the Saint-
Martin Nature Reserve, took part, like millions
of citizens around the world, in a morning of
waste collection at Le Galion.
A total of approximately 9m3 of waste was
collected, representing 425kg divided into 39
bags.
SEPTEMBER 19
It’s cleaning time!
10. FOOD COLLECTING
“Rotary Nord Food Bags” is an action in partnership with the Centre Symphorien
d'Insertion.
The health crisis due to the Covid19 has had here, as everywhere else,
catastrophic consequences on the economic level. The tourist industry, the
economic lung of the island, has been virtually wiped out. Many regular jobs as well
as informal activities have been destroyed. As a result, many families no longer
have the means to meet their basic needs, drink, eat, and dress. We could not
remain insensitive to the social misery that is worsening around us.
This successful action took place on Friday 11th and Sunday 13th December 2020
in front of the supermarket Super U.
13. Given the impossibility to organize the
traditional excursion on the lagoon with the
Explorer for the elderly, it was decided to offer a
meal to the residents of Bethany Home and to
conclude this meal with a great cake decorated
in the colors of the club.
DECEMBER 12
Action in favor of the Seniors of Bethany
Home.
16. The Club organized a collect of books from
the population and sold them at the price
of 1 to 2 euros.
This action intended to finance the
acquisition of a few resting beds so that a
companion of the patient can rest at night.
DECEMBER 19
Books, books, books!
19. During this Christmas season, each member of
the Rotary Club of North Sint Maarten prepared
a gift for distribution to the children of the
island, in collaboration with the Manteau de
Saint-Martin.
A beautiful moment of sharing and conviviality!
DECEMBER 23
The Magic of Christmas.
22. A DONATION OF 2,000€
The Club donated 2,000 euros for the project of Léa URVOIX, a teacher in schools
in Quartier d’Orléans.
This project consisted of setting up swimming lessons for 13 students with 2 goals:
teaching the students how to swim and organizing sailing lessons on small
"Optimist" dinghies with the Friar's Bay club.
25. UPCOMING ACTIONS
• March 13th: Collecting cigarette butts from Le Galion beach
• Book Fairs: We intend to organize two more book fairs this year, at the end of
March and end of June
• Food Bags: We intend to organize 2 new collections of food and basic necessities
for families in need.
