3. BEZERRA – first part of the
project spent in the village on
the ecological farm in Parque
Natural das Serras de Aire e
Candeeiros
5. This is the dining house where we eat food prepared by the
Portuguese woman Carminda, who is also working with us
on the farm. The house was renovated by us (painting,
cleaning, restorative works).
6. The restorative works done by us in the
first part of the project together with
other volunteers:
7. • On the eco farm we help to feed animals,
restore their places to live and collect
products needed to produce local food.
11. • We spend time collecting
local herbs and other goods
(snails, pines, fruits, honey)
that we will sell after as local
eco products.
12. • Another task was collecting pine cones, which
are used to set the fire in the bread oven and
heating homes during the winter.
13. • Porto de Mos – the town where we spent the
second part of the project. We focused mainly
on few activities, one of them was claning the
local river Lena from the invasive plants.
16. • We hike in the mountains of the
National Park to clean the area and
take the rubbish, especially in the
time of big fires that happened during
our stay.
17.
18. We help to clan and paint the local school in the village of Serro Ventoso, near Porto
de Mos
19. We participate in the workshop of ceramics,
by Ana i Carlos from
'Casa da Olaria‘
20.
21. We learn how to make bread with the Bezerra’s farmer – Augusto.
29. We have visited local winery
and take an active part in the
production of wine
30. During our project we had the
opportunity to participate in
'20 Years Camp in Amarante', organized
for volunteers from all over the
Portugal. It was an interesting
experience during which we could learn
more about EVS and make new
international friends.
