Channel Switching Trial Parameter Changes on RNC



(1)

Implemented TC3 settings on RNC on 2007-07-26 at 12:00
Settings were
 downswitchThreshold from 0 to 8 kbps
- Threshold for channel switching from dedicated channel to FACH/RACH
- Down-switch timer started if throughput drops below 8 kbps


downswitchTimerThreshold from 0 to 16 kbps
- Timer threshold to achieve hysteresis for channel switching from dedicated channel to
FACH/RACH
- Down-switch timer stopped/cleared if throughput goes above 16 kbps



inactivityTimer from 30 to 45 (seconds)
- Timer for sending of IU RELEASE REQUEST message to the CN for UEs in state CELL_FACH
- Cell_FACH -> Idle if no activity for 45 seconds



upswitchTimer from 5 to 25 (100ms)
- Time during which the bandwidth utilisation is allowed to be high before an up-switch request is
issued
- Throughput & code power conditions for up-switch must be met for 2.5 seconds before up-switch
is attempted

-

downswitchTimer unchanged at 10 (100ms)
- Timer for channel switching from dedicated channel to FACH/RACH. Down-switch after 1 second
