Call for Papers
Purpose and Aim
After the successful first edition, and in the wake
of a buoyant and turbulent year for mobile service
platforms, the 2nd International Workshop Important Dates
on Business Models for Mobile Platforms will
take place in conjunction with the ICIN 2010 Extended abstract submission deadline: 15 May 2010
conference (www.icin.biz). It will focus on the Acceptance notification deadline: 15 June 2010
causes and effects of the current explosion of Speaker registration deadline: 30 June 2010
platforms in the mobile ICT industry. Mobile Full paper deadline (non-extendable): 30 July 2010
platforms may refer to various system levels
including mobile devices’ operating systems,
mobile network protocols, mobile services
and applications, and so on. Through platform
ownership, companies position themselves as central gatekeepers in the mobile industry.
The objective of this workshop is to explore changing business models and industry architectures as a result of the
introduction of mobile platforms. The workshop calls for original papers on this central topic. Papers may be of an
empirical or of a conceptual nature. They may deal with the characteristics of successful business models in this field,
the emergence of new mobile industry architectures, and the competition and collaboration between media, IT, internet
and telecommunications companies regarding mobile platforms. The presented research may focus on individual
platforms and applications, as well as on cross-platform comparative studies.
Registration and Paper Submission Workshop Topics
Registration and paper submission are through the EDAS The workshop is multidisciplinary, and specifically

Papers for BMMP must be written in English and submitted
electronically through the EDAS system. A short (50 word) Platform theories, network effects and multi-sided
abstract is required on registration of the submission. A mobile platforms
detailed extended abstract should then be uploaded for Business strategies related to mobile platforms
review by the Technical Programme Committee. Detailed New revenue (sharing) models around mobile

Extended abstracts should be between 1000 and 1500 search
words long. They should include relevant figures and tables Mobile media platforms
describing results and should indicate how the abstract
will evolve into a final paper. All extended abstracts will be Mobile service platforms for Smart Cities
peer-reviewed. Platform models for the Internet of Things
Extended abstracts and full papers should conform to Standardisation strategies regarding mobile platforms

Full papers should be no more than 6000 words long. Technical Programme Committee
Authors who plan to present an accepted paper must
complete their paid registration at the speaker rate by the Pieter Ballon (chair), IBBT & Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Belgium
