The document discusses shot selection and targeting audiences for a thriller film scene. Shots at the beginning are meant to set the scene and build tension without revealing what is in the assassin's hand. Close ups then show the assassin is emotionless and being controlled by a voice in his earpiece. Slow motion shots show the prime minister happy with his wife to emphasize the calm before he is assassinated. Later shots reveal the assassin is the target and build tension as he raises a gun. Action shots show the assassination from the audience's point of view to make it feel real. The assassin then kills himself to elicit sympathy, and a final gun-pointing shot appeals to action fans. The selections are meant to target both
3. These shots of the assassin are close up of his face, we now get a clear insight that this man is going to do something, we see the ear piece and we sense all is uneasy. We reveal the ear piece because it is a vital part of our thriller as there is a voice controlling him. We can see by his face that he is emotionless and almost in a trace This will make it more interesting for the audience and add a complexity about out thriller to make it more entertaining to watch.
4. These shots are to show how happy the prime minister is with his wife, we did these in slow motion to emphasis the calm before the storm, we also wanted to make the audience feel sorry for him when he gets assassinated. It also adds tension to the thriller and gets the audience on the edge of there seats and waiting for something to happen. Also we want to make the audience wonder who this man is.
5. These shots are the ones when it is revealed to the audience that he is the assassin and the man we just saw in the pervious shot was his target. This would appeal to a more manly audience as it is when it is full of tension and action as it is a slow build up to when the gun is revealed to us and the music is turned up to make it all more dramatic and have an impact on the audience who are watching. He is still motionless but looks calm and in control.
6. These shots are the real action shots when the tension builds up and it is the pinnacle of the scene, this would be a good moment for the audience as it is the shooting of the prime minister we have done a walking shot here to make the audience feel they are involved and give it a more real feel to it
7. We then had the assassin kill himself as it would create a sympathetic feel to the piece and that it wasn’t his fault. We have targeted a more educated audience and some may not perhaps understand the emotion he is going through. Also for the final shot we wanted the gun pointing at the camera to give a more in your face appeal to it which would ultimately appeal to more of the action fan and the manly side which we have mapped out in our target audience.
