and updating of the customer data intrinsic to Funds Transfer processing. By employing a relational
model at the core and/or VSAM in distribution we are able to effectively provide a high level of data
integrity across all Funds Transfer processing, investigations, and communications systems.

CIF provides a central management facility for receiving automated updates from other
JPMorganChase systems in addition to on-line maintenance by various operating departments.An

Project Abstract:
Travelers is one of the Largest Client for CTS. Around 1200 + assosciates working for the client in
different applications. Travelers currently maintain various Billing Systems for Commercial Lines and
they have co-sourced Application Management of its Billing Portfolio projects to Cognizant as Billing
Enhancements. Billing Enhancements is very sophisticated since it consists of highly critical data
processing of PABS (Producer Account Billing) System, DBS (Direct Billing) System, BCDB (Billing
Control Database) System and CAP (Customer Assistance Program) system. Currently, the BPT
(Business Process Testing) and AIT (Automated Integrated Testing) for the above systems is done
by manually submitting the batch jobs.

The objective of ITT project is to automate both the BPT and AIT testing of all the Billing Systems
and to develop test tools and data based on the inputs provided by the business users. Some of the
major technologies used include JCL, COBOL, REXX, VSAM, IMS DB, IMS DC,DB2, CA-7 and
Endevor.
The team is also involved in IMS-DB2 migration project. This project involves all the IMS databases
in Billing portfolio to be converted to DB2 tables. Billing portfolio has its front end as IMS-DC
screens. The changes involve the IMS-DC screen interface with the databases.

will have the production/test data run before the same is run on the production
• The whole environment then runs as production and the issues have to be resolved. Once

• There are different types of the projects which will run throughout the account. The new
version changes are implemented into the projects which will impact the performance of
these projects. The CISO team was to study the effects of this on the systems as well as the
it will check if the process can be revived.
• The new versions will be released and updated on time to time basis. This changes the

provided to take the necessary actions.

Project Abstract:
Claim Services is currently devise a single Platform strategy for Claim. Part of this strategy
encompasses foundational work to be completed to enable the Claim Services to support future
business. At the very core of our competitive advantage is the ability to have dynamic and rich data
for high volume processing and business intelligence which current resides in a legacy hierarchical
system. As part of the data platform strategy, the division is looking to convert the 7 CPCS IMS
databases to a DB2 DBMS.
TRV - Claim - IMS to DB2 Wave1 is basically a development project.
There are 2 modules in this project.
1) DAC to MAC conversion
2) Data Migration
This project deals with migration of IMS data to DB2 data. It involves unloading of data from the
IMS environment to DB2 environment, mapping /transforming these data, transferring this
reformatted data, validating whether the transformation is done correctly or not. Once this migration
is done, we worked on DAC and MAC system. The main aim behind this DAC and MAC is to
develop DB2 calls for the transformed DB2 database without affecting the Application program. In
DAC to MAC conversion, one new layer is created to point the current IMS calls to DB2 tables.
Those modules are called as MAC. This MAC module calls the DB2 I/O module to
fetch/insert/update the data from/into DB2 table.
The major part involved changing the IMS Calls to CICS-DB2 calls.
