This document provides an overview of the SME 2.0 project, which aims to help small and medium enterprises in Europe utilize web 2.0 technologies and social networking tools in their business management. The project involves 10 partners from 4 countries and will create an online learning platform with 4 e-learning modules on topics like information management, project management, online marketing and human resources. It will also develop a networking platform for European SMEs to collaborate and share knowledge. The project runs from 2011-2013 and is funded by the European Commission.

Tenegen project as a Best Practise
TENEGEN, one of the donor projects for SME 2.0 was selected among the
BEST PRACTICEs in the LLL Programme in the category of "Skills and
competences of VET teachers, trainers and tutors"
"These projects are helping Europe along the path to meeting its 2020
targets for smart, sustainable and inclusive growth. They are fostering new
ideas and innovations that are vital as Europe faces up to the challenges of a
competitive global environment. As Victor Hugo once wrote, "An invasion of armies can be resisted, but not an idea
whose time has come."

The project leader, Prompt is very proud of this result and thank for all members of the consortium who put the
maximum of their professionality into the very heavy, two years long collaboration. TENEGEN community will continue
this collaboration in order to "... connect the teachers to reach and teach the Net Generation" all over Europe.
COSME
Programme for the Competitiveness of
Enterprises and SMEs
The new Programme for the Competitiveness of Enterprises and Small and
Medium-sized Enterprises (COSME) will run from 2014 to 2020, with a planned
budget of €2.5bn (current prices).
Objectives
• facilitating access to finance for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs)
• creating an environment favourable to business creation and growth
• encouraging an entrepreneurial culture in Europe
• increasing the sustainable competitiveness of EU companies
• helping small businesses operate outside their home countries and improving their access to markets
COSME will:
• ensure continuity with initiatives and actions already undertaken under the Entrepreneurship and Innovation
Programme (EIP), such as the Enterprise Europe Network, building on results and lessons learnt.
• continue the many successful features of the EIP, while simplifying management of the programme to make it
easier for entrepreneurs and small businesses to benefit.
• support, complement and help coordinate actions by EU member countries. COSME will specifically tackle
transnational issues that – thanks to economies of scale and the demonstration effect – can be more
effectively addressed at European level.
Expected results
• easier access to finance for entrepreneurs and small businesses
• more prominent role for self-employment and business development as important sources of growth and job
creation
• in individual EU countries: a more competitive industry, more entrepreneurs and higher employment rates.
