1. I am a lifelong resident of Hawaii and a product of our public school system. I grew
up in Whitmore Village which at that time was a pineapple town. It was a great place
to grow up!
When I started kindergarten, I decided that I wanted to be a teacher. I loved school,
and I loved learning new things. I never wavered from this goal and graduated from
the University of Hawaii with a degree in education. I’ve been an educator ever
since, and in 2000, I entered a program for educational administration. I have been
the proud principal of Hale Kula Elementary School since February 2003. These
10+ years have been wonderful, and I have learned so much about education and
leadership!
My husband Randy and I have three sons, two grandsons, a granddaughter, and a
Pomeranian-Chihuahua named Iwak. I love watching sports, and I enjoy golfing on
the weekend.
